I ordered chai, which tastes nice, a bit too sweet, and tea flavour is not strong enough. Not worth the price. Chiwala is better.

Ottoman Coffee House is honestly my new favourite place to go. They do the best coffees and cakes. Food is also very good. Coming from a Turkish background I can confirm their Turkish coffee has excellent taste and quality makes you feel like you are in Turkiye again! Their pistachio iced lattes are something else though! The lovely gentlemen always listens thoroughly and takes my special request very well and makes the best iced pistachio lattes!. I have brought a lot of my friends here and each and every one of them have fallen in love with this place. Thank you to all the lovely staff who have always been giving great service and kindness at all times.

My favourite coffee shop in Glasgow, the vibes and drink selection is just unmatched. It’s a lovely atmosphere to work, read or see friends. My only tiny critique would be it sometimes feels inconvenient to pay cash/ they don’t have enough change in the till. But apart from that I’d highly recommend.

This is a place with a difference. Located in a large hall clearly built for some specific purpose unknown to me, it has an attractive boho style, with large black and white photographs and bric a brac of an Ottoman theme. The furniture is a random collection of slightly scruffy tables, chairs and sofas that add to its sense of comfort. It is clean throughout. The menu is eastern and spicy and the dishes we had were delicious if in one case surprisingly hot and spicy . The coffee is excellent. Staff are all friendly, helpful and attentive but not obtrusive. You are made to feel welcome. A great place to go for a different, relaxed experience.

Well worth the 20 - 30 minute wait for a table. Very nice and attentive staff..... beautiful, relaxing atmosphere, you forget all about the hustle & bustle outside. Quiet, relaxing piano music was playing in the background, which added to the experience. Although there is a limited food menu, the food was excellent, flavoursome, and beautifully presented........empty plates and three satisfied customers at the end of our visit. We ordered and paid for our meal via smartphone, which was handy. There was a service charge included, which you could decline, accept, increase, or decrease. I will definitely return when I am next in Glasgow, I loved the Ottoman Coffeehouse. It was a special time spent dining as a catch-up with my son & daughter, and I was very happy that we chose this recommendation . We also loved the special coffees that we ordered, I had 2 extra hot Latte's, my daughter a Pistachio Coffee and my son a Turkish coffee.

Lively, bustling but not too loud/overcrowded little nook in Glasgow. It's seems to be a great space for people to slow down and hangout. I can actually taste spices in their chai and biryani. Pistachio croissant also comes with heavy topping of pistachios. Was a little confused by the variety and diversity of the menu but everything we ordered was delicious, definitely worth returning.

Today was my first visit. Interesting venue, authentically styled, felt warm and homely. We were served promptly and food arrived about 20 minutes later. To share, we ordered: sweet potato fries, garlic naan, Turkish salad, vegan biryani (I believe), channa dip and also tahini yoghurt. The channa dip was really good.. rich, smoky and spicy. The tahini yoghurt didn't really have much attitude, I wouldn't order it if I returned. Sweet potato fries were good, and good sized portion. Turkish salad was plentiful, flavoursome and I think we ordered feta olives with that.. The vegan biryani.. which I think was mildly spiced pilau rice with veg pakora chunks was OK. It's fairly hearty simple food, nothing special, and reasonably priced. I ordered one of the Turkish coffees, to try. The first one at the top of the menu, can't recall the name. Begins with i.. think it was £4.50. it's TINY, smaller than a shot glass, VERY bitter, with an almost unpleasant taste. Definitely to be avoided, and absolutely not worth £4.50. Anyway, decent lunchtime feed for 2 big lads, 2 coffees to follow.. served in a cool little venue.. under £50. Felt like decent value. Overall, a decent experience and I'd go back to the Ottoman.

Me and my partner have been here a few times and we love it. Coffee is so lovely and the food is great. We find that once we are inside the staff are really nice, friendly and attentive. We were a bit disappointed yesterday though, we were stood queuing at the door for quite some time, with little communication from staff about wait times. Our presence was not really acknowledged for a while and it felt a bit awkward. We noticed there was a table for two empty the entire time we were waiting and didn't understand why this wasn't filled. We were waiting behind a large family of 6 or 7 who were waiting for a big table. However, it seemed that when other smaller tables became available staff were not seating other people in the queue who were waiting, which to us did not make much sense. Overall we think this place is great but believe there is definitely a better way of managing a long queue of customers.

10 stars They even went through to the back to get me my savoury muffins in 2 trips without complaint as they didn't hear that I wanted 1 of each flavour even if I felt bad as they had just put them away as it was just before closing on way out. They serve almost all of their baked goods unexpectedly heated up if you sit in which was such a nice surprise, so fresh & yummy, especially the hazelnut soft & crispy pain au chocolat with a generous spread nutty topping. We also tried the custard & chocolate muffin, dulce de leche cruffin & gingerbread swirl which were all delicious too - probably preferred their pain au chocolat best, then cruffin & muffin, & swirl last for not being the softest of them all but still so yum. If you can, sit in & eat but even my savoury muffins were nice cold to take away - my favourite out of the 2 was the chilli cheese corn muffin over the sweet cheese & onion for its spicy kick while cold but preferred the other way round after microwaving at home strangely, so both were good. They even made me a golden matcha even if it wasn't on the menu anymore but they could make it for £4.90 just 50p more than their matcha, which doesn't have coffee in but the golden part is the sweet turmeric, which was great to dip some of the pastries in like the swirl or cruffin, as my friend did with her pistachio latte. Was busy but managed to get a comfy 2 armchairs in the cosy 1st table spot in the main area. They also let you play chess with their wooden chessboards too. Decor is lovely, lighting at the coffee making bit is comforting & all bakes displayed & savoury food coming out looked mouthwatering. More than 1 staff were friendly. You can pay at the till at the start or after. They were attentive as they showed me the bin, got me tapwater & napkins & told me wifi 1 after the other. Only took 5mins for a table to free up at quarter to 2pm on a Sat. They didn't rush your order or rush you out once you got a seat either - got to catch up with a friend for 5 hours in peace. Rarely come back to a place again as so many other places to try, but would totally revisit as I need to try their pistachio latte & salep & lunch/dinner food. Thanks for the welcome & experience <3

The shawarma is a favourite of mine. The place itself is elaborately decorated and has a great atmosphere. Staff themselves are helpful and friendly. You order via QR code at the table and the food is brought to you. There can be a queue during peak times due to the popularity however it's never been too long. ¡Extremadamente decepcionado! Algunos artículos no estaban disponibles.

Been once before, rather enjoyed it. Decided to take my family on a Sunday afternoon, but were told no tables were available. We were told to wait in the front foyer if we wanted to, so we occupied a few of the seats (not around a table) by the front door. After 5-10 mins, the server reappeared to ask if we were ready to order. Slightly confused, we said we'd like to wait for a table, but were told that the seats we were waiting in were for customers only. I asked if we were being told to stand and wait, and he replied yes, we need to stand, even although there were 10+ empty seats in the foyer. He then turned his back on us and walked off, so we left, slightly confused as to what just happened. Not hurrying back

Also, in terms of safety: at the bottom of the stairs the screws and fixings of a handrail are loose - which would endanger (rather than support) anyone with mobility issues.

Saw this place suggested on Reddit as the best coffee place in Glasgow. There was a queue for sit in and take away which was surprising. The coffee experience is amazing. Had my first Cruffin. Also the first time I've had Coffee and a Kebab. Decor, service and ambiance were all top notch. Will definitely go again.

Interior and the vibe of this place is amazing, you go inside and you’re like “woahh” The vegan cake with biscoff was one of the best cakes I’ve eaten and matcha is made in a traditional way which is the only way to get good matcha. Totally recommend!

Beautiful decor and amazing pastries. I had the almond croissant which had tons of almond paste and paired it with the pistachio latte, I highly recommend both if you go. Great place to sit and chat, read a book, or do some studying.

We came across this because we were looking to make a stop on the journey from Edinburgh to Ayrshire and wow, what a find! Incredible atmosphere, sublime coffee and amazing pastries. A beautiful space with a bit of a curiosity shop vibe and themed around the ottoman empire. Obviously they take their coffee super seriously, partnering with some of the best Scottish roasters to deliver something pretty close to the perfect flat white. The pastries as well were incredible - a mix of croissants and baklava. Delicious and filling. Staff were super friendly and helpful, we had a baby with us and they could not have been more accommodating. The larger meals also looked great. Will definitely be back!

Dropped in for a coffee and pastry. What a delightful place it is. Its unassuming frontage hides the amazing interior with its wonderful decor and a wide range of types of seating. Totally relaxed venue to enjoy a coffee or tea from their wide selection and excellent range of cakes and pastries. The cappuccino was the best I’ve had for a long time. On my next visit I will be more adventurous in my choice of coffee. Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited today for the first time. Absolutely beautiful inside, the surroundings are just not what you expect from the outside which seems to want to keep the interior a secret. And the food is out of this world, with the best prices for a plateful of food that tastes just amazing. I was too full for a cake, but what they have on offer means I'll just have to come back for coffee and cake. The rose sounds interesting........

Quite big but still offers a cozy atmosphere. Coffee is not cheap, but it's no less than amazing. We went there on a rainy day and it gave us a good break that refilled our energy. The quality is 11/10, and they offer a good variety for all tastes.

Fab Turkish coffee. Definitely not your average coffee house. So please to have this non generic cafe in my area, am so fed up with the branded coffee chains, same old, same old.

My first visit during my Glasgow stay. Came here and had a late breakfast consisting of a raisin scone and a pot of tea. Super cozy atmosphere, feels like a local regular cafe. Very nice owner who gave me some tips on other places to visit nearby.

The menu changes (particularly the pastry selection! However, the mushroom toast is incredible, the packed eggs are a god send, my mate has the shakshouka, and she loved it! Ensure that you arrive at 10 am when they open. Otherwise, you will very quickly lose out on pastry options! The bread is also to die for - if it's a sunny day, get there before 10am, otherwise may the pastry gods be with you 🫡

Sadly Pavement has now closed, thank you for the lovely nights we had in here and happy retirement. Pavement is reopening as a mexican pub/ restaurant, so I'll update when I've been in.

Delicious veggie food We stopped in for brunch on a sunny Saturday. I was intrigued by the smashed peas on sourdough, and it was not a disappointment! Deliciously minty with spring onion and a hint of chilli. The halloumi on top was perfect. A good selection of teas and coffees, and other juices etc. A brilliant option for veggie or vegan breakfast, lunch, or brunch. I came back the next day to get some of their fantastic pastries!
