Second time I've visited and been disappointed with my meal - poached eggs on toast which for £8 equated to 2 very small, tough pieces of sourdough toast and the eggs. The cakes do make up for it though as they are amazing. Don't think we received a single smile from staff during our whole visit which was a shame. Overall there was a nice atmosphere with the other customers and the various doggy visitors.

Truly disappointing - having been an avid lover of Singl-End when living in the West End I decided on a day trip that this was the place to return to after all those fabulous years. How evidently wrong I was. I cannot believe how disastrously downhill the business has gone. From a number one brunch spot to never returning again. Now to the experience itself - upon arrival we were taken to a table, sat, ordered drinks/food - the usual protocol, our food arrived and I’d gone for the meaty eggs and my partner for the meaty breakfast, my dish wasn’t exactly cooked and the egg itself was still raw. After alerting the waitress it was hurriedly taken away and I was told it would be ‘remade’ however when the dish returned this had not been remade and merely thrown back in the oven for a few more minutes to ‘cook the egg’ I believe. My partners meaty breakfast was something you’d expect from a road side little chef not Singl-End. I have no idea what’s going on here or what has happened nor the suppliers now being used but this is an entirely different premises than what I’ve previously visited. For any management/owner reading this please bring back the Singl-End that once was. Sincerely, a hugely disappointed ex-Westender.

Went here yesterday for my sister’s bday. Ordered scrambled egg on toast. It arrived like slop on the plate. Had been done in a microwave and hadn’t been scrambled. Toast was on the side and not buttered with no butter alongside. Completely tasteless. The only thing that saves it is the lovely waitress who was really nice and the gluten free caramel cake which was delicious. Won’t be back though as overpriced and too rustic for my taste.

Nice vibe here, relaxed but busy. Decor is quirky but understated. Background music was decent and not too loud. Lots of tables and not squashed in like sardines. Good menu for brunch. Stunning cakes on display. Tea was good. Coffee was nice. Sunshine on Glasgow was tasty, liked the coconut slithers and banana chips on top. Meaty breakfast was nice, their own takeaway on baked beans which were tasty, tattie scone looked home made and were delicious. One breakfast had 2 good sized slices of bacon while the other breakfast the bacon was well cooked and tiny in comparison. Fruit scone was a decent size. Would go back to try some of the lunch dishes or just the cakes.

We decided to change our hotel breakfast routine (in Glasgow) and looked for a great breakfast restaurant and café. We found this café and it was highly rated. We went to the café and it is located in the basement, but it is exposed. The cafe is large and has many tables with outdoor seating. Their breakfast is unconventional. The food is excellent and the service is excellent. Prices are acceptable. The problem is the difficulty of parking. Worth a try.

Late nights arrogant customers and musicians. They are more interested in their bottom line than anything else. Deciding you're a jazz bar with no consideration to the people about you is a disgrace. I'd invite Michelle to contact me. We'll be making representations at the licensing hearing.

Having dined at this restaurant many times and always enjoying the food—especially the home baking—we decided to have lunch here for my birthday on Wednesday, January 22nd, at around 1:00 PM. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. Upon arrival, we were seated and given menus, but no one asked if we wanted drinks. After waiting for about five minutes, we had to flag down a waiter to place our drink order. Since it was a special occasion, we opted for the Baileys Hot Chocolate from the specials menu priced at £6.50. For food, I ordered the Meaty breakfast, and my son chose the French toast with bacon, maple syrup, on sourdough. The restaurant wasn’t very busy—about half full—but the Baileys Hot Chocolate arrived with poor presentation and was barely lukewarm. As for the food, the Meaty breakfast was underwhelming: the square sausage was cold, the black pudding was lukewarm, and the overall dish lacked the quality I’ve come to expect. Later, we decided to order more drinks, but once again, we had to catch the waiter’s attention as no one checked in to ask if everything was okay. This time, we ordered a cappuccino and a flat white, which were thankfully hot. However, given the disappointing food quality and lackluster service, we decided to skip dessert and left to go elsewhere. This was especially disheartening because I’ve always loved the home baking, which is beautifully displayed near the entrance. It’s clear that the young staff member serving us, Arran whose name was on the bill needed more training. While I don’t entirely blame him, the lack of oversight from management was evident. Additionally, it was unacceptable for the kitchen to allow lukewarm food to leave the pass, and the Baileys Hot Chocolate, priced at £6.50, was far from worth the cost. Sadly, this experience has left us reluctant to return. What should have been a celebratory meal was marred by poor service and subpar food quality.

First time visiting and came highly recommended. Sadly fell a little flat. Whilst the flavour of the food was fab, the quality was not. I ordered the Meaty eggs which is Shakshuka, the eggs were like rubber, the tomatoes were so burnt around the side and the toast had been sitting for a while. The other full breakfast had the best scrambled eggs ever, but the rest of the plate had been sitting for a period of time, the bacon, potato scone etc, were lacking warmth and dried out. Service was average, but the staff were very polite and friendly when we did interact with them. It was incredibly busy however, so perhaps we were just unlucky.

First time here, and it didn't disappoint! We were 10 mins early and shown straight to our table. The cafe was buzzing. Plenty staff. We ordered meaty eggs and the special posh royale, which was a smoked salmon version of eggs benedict. Both dishes were very good. Tea and a latte were our drinks of choice. There is an excellent choice of cakes, and there are vegan choices. Staff were nice and efficient. I'd say it's pricey for what you get but worth it for the experience and for the nice relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend you book especially at the weekend or you'll be disappointed!! The cafe is a chain with multiple locations. It was close by to the hotel we stayed at so we went to get breakfast one morning while we were in town. The small table for two people is uncomfortable and there is not much room for food and drinks. There were 2 floor staff that morning and you have to wave to get their attention if you want to order more drinks or get some condiments for food so not very attentive. The place has a good rating but also a sponsored on google map so it turned out to be a mis for me.

Food was basic and not worth the price. Fresh juice priced at £3.00 and was charged £5.65 for “freshly squeezed orange juice” which was basically transparent and had no pulp? Ordered the “Scooby Snack” - salad was brown and wilted, beans and black pudding had no flavour whatsoever. For dessert I ordered the “Pumpkin Spice Cake” which was dry and bland. Had the meaty breakfast. Food was ok but a bit bland (definite lack of salt during cooking) and lacking. Other meals did look more interesting so it could just be a poor choice. I'd also ordered a lemon and ginger tea that was literally quarter of a lemon and a hunk of ginger root in water which was also bland and didn't diffuse that well, definitely don't order this as you'd be paying the Price of tea for what is essentially just warm water. Atmosphere wise it was busy and ok though definitely trying to be "trendy" rather than warm and welcoming. Service though was terrible. We were a party of 4 and a child on one of the 4 person tables. The waitress seemed offended that we needed more time to look at the menu despite us only just arriving. We weren't offered a dessert and had trouble flagging the waitress down despite trying to order one. Instead the first we saw of her was when she came up to the table about 10 mins after clearing our plates to tell us we had to leave within 15 mins to which we answered we've been trying to order dessert. We were quickly brought it followed by the bill without us asking. When it came to the bill the waitress said she couldn't itemise it only do a 50/50 split l, which she did by using the calculator on her phone so it makes no sense that she couldn't itemise the bill. All in all a disappointing experience and not worth it.

Stunning.....What a treat of a lunch. We were heading to the Kings Theatre and were wondering where to have lunch beforehand. Please count us in at Singl-end Cafe next time we are at the theatre. It's a bit hidden away but truly fab. The staff are on it on it, they were constantly checking everything was okay (but never in an intrusive way - just very professional), when not serving, they were wiping tables, sorting out the bar area. The atmosphere reminded me of great 1980s Glasgow eateries like the CuldeSac in Ashton Lane and Rocks in Queen Street - folks just really knowing what they are doing. The food.....oh wow...so fresh and tasty. My husband had French toast and bacon with maple syrup. He seldom finishes his food - there was nothing left!!! My daughter had the veggie breakfast, she wasn't so sure of the homemade baked beans, and doesn't like mushrooms, but we will know for next time. Unfortunately my daughter is disabled so it can be tricky for her. I had the 'Everything' which was delicious. Our daughter had a delicious empire biscuit for afters. There are daily specials. It really is fantastic, what a great find (what took us so long!) Thank you

Amazing food in a funky, cozy spot. Husband and I are both gluten free, and there were tons of options (including millionaires shortbread for dessert!). It was so good we came back 2 days in a row

Very nice indeed food is top notch. Had the posh eggs royal and it was rock-star, coffee also yum. This place couldn't be more hipster if it tried but that's not a down at all. I'm a bit of a grotty street though, so probably worth coming in the daytime and don't leave any valuables in the car!

Very friendly and helpful service, top Matcha Latte and banana bread. Handy for Kelvinbridge subway. Unprepossessing appearance from outside, but highly recommended.

We were in the area and in urgent need of baby changing. Cafe owner was lovely and although we didn't eat, if the cafe vibe/ atmosphere/ friendliness of owner is anything to go by the food will be smashing too!

Great place. Big choice, delicious, generous portions and good prices. Had the satay wrap today which was delicious, had a filled roll a few weeks ago which was really big and generously filled. Both reasonably priced. Will definitely be back. Really friendly lady too.

I had a refreshing cup of coffee and my husband had his favorite espresso beverage. The coffee and espresso beverage were well prepared. We also ate some breakfast rolls along with baguettes. Delicious food and well experienced staff.
