I visited The Dunstane restaurant a couple of weeks ago to try their new menu and was blown away by the quality of the food. The menu celebrates the finest seasonal and locally sourced produce, and you can tell how much care and attention has gone into carefully curating the dishes.
We enjoyed the Highland rack of lamb and dry-aged sirloin of beef. Couldn’t fault the mains, both were presented beautifully and tasted as good as they looked. The lobster ravioli with the beef was outstanding, would have loved more of this but all the flavours complimented each other so well.
The pistachio brûlée was out of this world, such a unique dish but the flavours were stunning and worked so well together.
Whilst the menu is at a higher price point, I highly recommend booking for a celebration or special occasion. Such a lovely experience overall
If u are nearby or passing give this shop a try for something to eat. I would recommend a full scottish breakfast with the haggis, one of the best breakfasts I have ever tried if not the best. Staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Brae is close to home, in the village of Chapleton, between Newtonhill & Stonehaven.
Popped in just before lunchtime on a Sunday, and received a very warm welcome. I was there to get takeaway goods. Both members of staff encountered were very friendly, and attended to my order in a quick & efficient manner. Hot chocolates and mochas very nice, special praise for the apple crumble cake. Utterly delicious and the dog liked it as well! 😬
Nice decor, it was also very clean. I will happily return again.
We never go anywhere but Diana's for breakfast run, and often lunch too!
So welcoming, perfectly cooked food and delicious soups, I recommend to everyone.
Beautiful location set near the river Ayr in Auchincriuve Estate.
Fresh produce grown 20 metres from the kitchen! Home made soup, sandwiches, baking, daily specials, seasonal menus...a real gem for taking family and friends......the staff are lovely.
Wow wow wow!!!
Livia and her hubby were so welcoming. My partner was in a wheelchair which they accommodated for. Livia does a brilliant job of operating the front of house. Her hubby (apologies did not get his name), cooks the most amazing food. My parter had the signature chicken and noodles and gave it top marks. I had the seaeed rolls and kimchi, and gave it top marks. We can't wait to go back!!!
