The best restaurants in Scotland

Typical Scottish Pub, whiskey and beer whatever you wanted and beautiful antique decoration. Even though we didn't know how to speak English, they treated us very kindly, which is very appreciated.

Incredible!!! Every dish we had was absolutely delicious, and the service was super friendly too. Some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had, definitely coming straight back the next time we’re in Edinburgh!

I would recommend if you are in Inverness pay a visit to The Malt Room. Old fashioned Jack Daniel's was first class.

TOTAL RIP OFF! The price of a morning roll at this place is £3.20 and that's just the roll mind, no filling included!. With one filling (in my case some dried out lorne sausage) it costs £6. Lived in Edinburgh all my life and never experienced this level of cheeky price for a Scottish staple which you can get for <£1 in any corner shop. Cafes nearby don't charge like that. Standard practice is ~£3ish for a roll + 1 filling (e.g. bacon/lorne sausage), then additional fillings are charged at extra. This place is beyond cheeky - not worth wasting your money on! The menu reads like it is £3.20 for a morning roll and filling but oh no, only when you get to the counter to pay you find out it's £6... sneaky and cheeky!

The place is exotic, you go down one level below the street, you are welcomed by Japanese decor and smiling and friendly waiters. The room is cozy and calm. The menu is simple but the recipes are elaborate. I had sushi for the evening, it was quite generous and very appreciated.

I had high expectations based on reviews. Howeved I was left with a big disappointment. The front of the house person tried to be funny, but the jokes simply did not land and some of my friends started to become quite irritated by the comments. Unfortunately food did not meet my expectations. My haggis pasta was very bland. Just tasted like pasta with cream and nothing else. The reason I am giving 3 stars and not 2 or 1 is that my husband said his dish from the Christmas menu was tasty. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be back

Great customer service and food

Fine dining restaurant located inside the Kimpton Hotel. Various length (depending on the day/time) tasting menus from predominantly local ingredients. Innovative and interesting choices from an Australian chef adapted to Scottish setting.

Flawless! Truly the greatest dining experience I’ve ever had. Every time I come here I feel welcome. The food is in a league of its own, which is only matched by it’s outstanding service I couldn’t recommend Macau Kitchen more if I tried!!!

The staff were enthusiastic and friendly and the food was just what we needed after our walk to look at the beautiful Solway Firth. We had the gyros and a very hearty carrot soup.

Decor was nice. Disappointed to see unpacked boxes lying about. Staff were nice. Steak sandwich was disappointing as the steak very tough.and presentation not good. I do hope that this is teething problems and you sort them out and are successful. I think other Soulsa regular customers will be disappointed 😞

We arrived at 14.10 on Thursday 12 Dec to find the place firmly locked up. I had previously checked closing time as 16.00. can't comment on any other items of service or food. We were denied both. Won't be rushing back!
