Location good as on our walking route but plenty of walks in the area for first time visitors. Just had lunch, ordered a small portion of fish and chips. That was more than big enough. Good selection of beers. We didn't pre book a table but perhaps advisable.
No puede faltar la comida en sí, pero hemos encontrado un pelo en nuestra comida en 2 ocasiones diferentes. Al ver la calificación de higiene alimentaria en línea, esto es solo 3. Ciertamente me deja atrás volver. Es una lástima que la comida sea sabrosa, pero cuando encuentras un cabello, te deja fuera de toda la comida. ¡Súplica al restaurante... por favor haga que sus chefs usen redes para el cabello!
First time visit with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend, what a wonderful place. My daughter’s boyfriend has been going since a child and said how good the fish and chips were and he’s not wrong. We visited the restaurant and were greeted by a very friendly welcome and the staff were very attentive. Things just got better when the food arrived, some of us had the regular and my husband had the special. They were all delicious good size chips crispy outside and fluffy inside. The fish was delicious, crispy, light batter and really thick tasty fish. Some of us tried desserts, ice cream, a sundae and Bakewell tart, the same quality with these too, homemade. There is also a takeaway and we will try that too.
Would highly recommend and we will definitely return.
This was my first visit to the copper cow, we were a table of 8. Between us we had 3 Sunday sharing platters and we were shocked that this came out on a standard plate with not much variety leaving 1 item per person to share.
We also had 2 children’s meals which came out on plastic plates although the children are 4/8.
We agreed the food was nice but we have had better, our main concern was the standard of service which was very very poor. The staff weren’t aware when we needed extra drinks and the tables needed cleaning as we were with dirty plates well after we’d finished the meal and had to ask for desert menus. I think this is due to a lack of experience and young ages of staff who were more bothered about talking amongst each other.
Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be returning to the copper cow as we know we can get better at other local bars and restaurants.
We have just left with full bellies and smiles on our faces!
What a wonderful little gem!
This place is phenomenal, we made a booking online last night for today at 12pm and that was arranged straight away with zero fuss, we’d used a groupon voucher (bought for us as a gift) the gift voucher was accepted no problems at all.
The greeting was warm and welcoming, all involved was smiling and polite which makes such a difference! We felt super comfortable and at ease.
The wonderful lady serving us was so nice! A big beautiful smile on her face, nothing was too much trouble and very attentive.
The food…. WOW! Although we didn’t have what you’d classify as a main meal, the food we ate was made with nothing but the finest ingredients and more importantly with love! The flavours are phenomenal, everything was so flavoursome, colourful and plenty of it!
The bread without a doubt has to be the best bread I’ve personally ever eaten! Cooked perfectly with a crusty shell and the softest texture inside! We had the meze and everything on it was cooked beautifully, well presented and tasted even better! We have never visited here before but it is safe to say we will be visiting again and again! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and for serving us with a smile! We highly recommend to anyone who loves food and a good atmosphere!

Excellent Sunday lunch, nice range of beers, very friendly and helpful staff, just what was needed after the half marathon.
We've been here quite a few times when visiting daughter and boyfriend in Sheffield (they did the running) and it doesn't disappoint

Absolutely brilliant Battered Sausage and Chips and scraps brilliant all freshly made and lovely and hot in a cold winter's day, recommended by The MacMaster and yes it was worth the detour from are route Southampton to Newcastle. This place is so much better than The Wetherby Whaler in York,so glad for the detour Many thanks to the staff there for making us so welcoming. 5 stars all the way. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
