Sapori in Kirklees

Oh dear. So disappointing. Went for dinner with long-standing friends. Order was taken and drinks were served in a timely manner. Starter of Arancini arrived with a side of focaccia. These were ok but drier than expected. Two of us ordered fettuccine for main. An unacceptable amount of time passed before this arrived. We were offered a free drink in compensation. Two pasta dishes arrived but these were not fettuccine. They were spaghetti and lasagne sheets that had been crimped. We were told these pasta dishes would be deducted from the bill but only one of them was. We asked about this and it was rectified. Very average meal and our complaints whilst listened to, were excused as “we are busy”. For an establishment with a very small menu Sapori should really be nailing these dishes. Sadly, We will not return 😢

Just two of us for a quiet birthday meal. The steak was not cooked to order and everything else we rated as OK. Wouldn’t rush back.

Excellent Christmas Eve meal. Staff are all helpful and friendly. Small restaurant but tables adequately spaced. Very good lobster ravioli and nice choice of reasonably priced wines

Quite superb food. Only dropped in casually for lunch. Every mouthful was delicious. Great value lunch menu and the place is very nicely set out. Shame there weren't more customers as it deserves to thrive

Been meaning to try here for a while. Finally got down today. lovely modern decor and friendly staff. We had the lunch special. Great value. The food was delicious. Real hearty homemade Italian fare. Look forward to returning soon.

Very good table service, only downside was we had limited time at the table and had to leave at 8 o'clock.The food was superb and the menu listing was just enough.We will definitely go back!!

Second time visiting and still brilliant. The service is warm and the restaurant is modern and lovely. Had the 3 course lunch menu which not only great value but really yummy homemade food. Highly recommend and will visit again.

A masterclass in service. The food itself was absolutely delicious, but the service here is incredible. My stubborn but often confused grandfather insisted to my Mum that he had already ordered when he hadn't, the reply from the waitress came: "Oh yes, you did. Can you remind me what it was you ordered again?" He gave his order. I looked at the wine menu and just saw 175ml and 250ml measures as well as bottles. I asked for a "medium" glass of wine for my wife as a lot of restaurants have 175 & 250 on the menu, but don't have a 125ml measure advertised (yet consider 125ml "small"). My wife pointed out afterwards that I was asked "small or large" (meaning 175 or 250ml) and when I said "medium", the waitress immediately cottoned on to what I was ordering and asked if I wanted another "medium" glass. I didn't even notice.

We had my eldest son and daughter in law up visiting as they wanted time with us before my Dad (90) goes for treatment .We all 5 of us had an amazing meal and just totally enjoyed everything about it here.Food served to perfection,service was amazing so hopefully in a couple of months we'll either be back to treat him after treatment or maybe if he's not quite ready by then will get him a takeout? Definately intend a return and highly recommend so thank you very much for a lovely &memorable meal together.😀

First visit to Sapori … a lovely evening with a couple of friends. The service was excellent…unfortunately didn’t get the young lady’s name who served us but she was both pleasant and attentive. The Spaghetti carbonara was excellent and would definitely have again. Think we may try a lunchtime as I have been told by friends it is very good. I would definitely recommend 😃

Visited today with friends and ate from the set lunch menu. We had three courses, a good range of choices (prawn and avocado cocktail, bruschetta, risotto, calamari and aubergine pasta) and all dishes were really lovely and well presented. Service was excellent.

This is a lovely, family run Italian which showcases food that is a little bit better than your average Italian! The portion sizes are good with a reasonable amount of choice. A menu that works, not too much choice but cooked to perfection. Staff are friendly.

Sapori is a family run Italian restaurant in the heart of Lindley Huddersfield that opened last year to rave reviews. Both of the owners have Italian heritage so we knew we were in for some proper authentic Italian food. The menu has lots of twists on Italian classic dishes but the main focus is on their homemade pasta dishes. Huge shout out to our fabulous waitress, who chatted with us for ages and gave us some great recommendations from the menu- there is nothing better than people who are passionate about the food and drink that they are serving. Speaking of the food, we expected it to be great but it completely surpassed all of our expectations. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely packed with bold flavours. We devoured every last bite of all of our dishes and we truly felt like we were back in Italy Highlights included Parpadelle al Ragu di Anatra (Parpadelle with Duck and Olive Ragu). Hands down one of the best pasta dishes we have ever had the pleasure of trying. The sauce was gorgeous- rich, meaty, bold with that sharp salty bite from the olives. The duck was a fantastic addition with its deep gamey and slightly smoky flavour. The pasta was absolutely stunning- thick ribbons cooked perfectly al dente and just tasted super fresh- it reminded us of ravioli style pasta and we loved it. Carbonara- With all of the different choices of pasta on the menu, you may wonder why i picked a classic. When we make pasta at home we often stick to the tomato based sauces so i wanted to try something creamy- also the simplest of dishes really show how good a restaurant is as there is nowhere to hide. What can i say, it was absolutely gorgeous, like seriously moreish where you just cant stop eating. I dont know exactly what was in the sauce but it packed a real flavour punch- rich and buttery with a lovely kick of pepper running through. The panchetta was cooked to perfection adding that crispy crunchy salty bite to the sea of creamy goodness. The fresh pasta buried under a generous helping of parmesan was simply delicious. A classic dish taken to the next level Creme Brulee- This is one of my favourite desserts of all time, if not my number one. This started with that thick layer of caramelisation that has the perfect crack when you tap your spoon. Buried inside was a gorgeous rich vanilla heavy buttery creamy brulee custard. Heavenly, decadent and indulgent- i absolutely loved this version To drink we enjoyed Limoncello Spritz, Espresso Martini and Old Fashioned, which were all well balanced and tasted delicious Highly recommend a visit here if you live in the West Yorkshire area, so great to have another fantastic local independent business doing well

Our first visit and certainly not our last! We came to Sapori to celebrate my birthday with my family and it was excellent. The service was amazing from minute one with the right amount of attention to us and very helpful recommendations with ordering. We had starters and mains. The food portions don’t look huge but honestly they are made with such flavour and richness that it is the perfect amount. I personally had the salmon tortellini and it was beautiful and I believe the ragu was a hit with my parents! My brother hate the Nutella pie dessert which was simply divine. Wine was also pleasantly wonderful which was clearly imported rather than chemicalised British wine (basically, we felt like we were in Italy). And to top it off, we were given free limoncello to celebrate my birthday! Thank you to the Sapori team, we will be back.

Visited for a mid week lunch and had a gorgeous meal. They offer a very appetising light lunch menu. We went for three courses for £19.95. Everything was really fresh and yummy. We will definitely return. The portions were very generous and good value for money. The restaurant itself is lovely and has a cosy atmosphere. Service was very friendly and efficient. The door to the kitchen was open and you could see it was spotless.

The carbonara was nice, small portions. The Chicken was a large portion and very nice.

We were visiting family locally, and the lovely family own/run restaurant was a short walk from our air b&b. Suggested by his sister, and we were NOT disappointed, everything was lovely, and we will be back on our next visit to Lindley

Went as a group of six on the recommendation of two in our group. Lovely restaurant, knowledgable waitress on the menu both food and drinks, great service and amazing food! Restaurant was closing and we were still sat around talking but not rushed out by staff. Would recommend and will also be back again.

This is the second visit to this restaurant, the first being a family occasion. I am really impressed with this restaurant, the staff and level of service was fantastic and very customer focused. This latest visit with my wife was a wedding anniversary celebration. The food was excellent, and the wine selection was perfect for the meal. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, and will be visiting again in the near future.

Had a lovely evening on Saturday night. The service was great, staff friendly & attentive. Food arrived promptly after ordering. The atmosphere was intimate, but still had a wonderful buzz . I can only say the lasagne was absolutely fantastic. One of the best I’ve ever tasted. Infact we both thoroughly enjoyed all our food. We will definitely be back.

The Frito Misto was excellent, the carbonara spaghetti delicious and the Pappardelle Ragu exceptional. Maybe best in Lindley.

Myself and my family came for dinner last night and wow! What a night we all had..the food was incredible, the staff were amazing, the place and atmosphere its self was just beautiful! Nothing was too much hassle, every single staff member went above and beyond & every single one of us loved our food. The attention to detail and thought that’s gone into everything these guys offer shines through. We will definitely be back!

New Years Eve visit with my Husband. The food was very good, service excellent and the ambience was chilled and friendly. Vegetarian choices available and happy to tweak meat dishes so that they were vegetarian, giving more choice. Price reasonable for set menu including prosecco on arrival and coffee to finish. We will definitely be back.

Last minute booking for New Year's Eve. Very busy but very friendly and efficient service. Good choice of alcohol free drinks for the designated driver (me!) and a great wine list. Set menu but still spoiled for choice and the food was excellent . We will definitely be going back. Thank you 😊

Was there with my family for a Christmas Eve's dinner. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, making you feeling like at home with friends. Food was incredibly yummy, of good quality and quantity, asthetically pleasing and also everything taste just like proper italian Food. Wow I have been wanting to visit Sapori for a while now and finally had the opportunity to eat there last night (Fri 8/12). It did not disappoint the food was fantastic, the best carbonara I have ever had 😋, my friends had fillet of beef cooked to perfection and also the Torteloni Neri de Salmone again excellent. The wine was great recommended by the waitress. The staff are lovely, all in all an excellent night shared with friends in a beautiful restaurant with excellent food. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu 😁

1st visit, bit disappointing, found the menu limited and the main course portions of pasta very small compared to every Italian restaurant we have ever visited, it was smaller than a starter portion. Poor value for money. Shame as the restaurant has a great location in a lovely village. There are a lot of other options in Lindley so sadly we won’t be visiting again.
