Kobane Restaurant in Kirklees

I ordered bread with lentil soup. It was superb. I also tried the minced kebabs with a lovely fresh side salad. Five stars! Must go back soon to have the chicken served on a sizzling platter that my neighbour enjoyed. It smelled and looked amazing. PS: If you are interested in making flatbreads, watch the young man at the back making flatbreads with consummate skill.

The food arrived 15 minutes early, hot and smelling absolutely amazing. The Lamb Qozi was everything you’d hope for, tender, fall-off-the-bone lamb packed with rich, deep flavors, sitting on perfectly seasoned rice that soaked up all the goodness. The Mixed Tekka Kebab was just as incredible, juicy, smoky, and full of spice, every bite better than the last. You can tell real care went into this meal. Flawless from start to finish, can’t wait to order again.

Food is outstanding, doesn't look much from the outside but one of the better restaurants unable to fault anything

I have been a loyal customer of Kobane for a long time and have always appreciated the quality of your food. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. The portions were shockingly small compared to what we usually receive, leaving us unsatisfied. Additionally, the lamb qozi was filled with fat and lacked any real meat, making it almost inedible. We hesitated to write this because we love your restaurant, but this experience has left us fed up and compelled to share our concerns.

Kobane is easily one my favorite places for food in the UK. I’ve been coming here regularly for over a year, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to leave a review. When it comes to quality and price, Kobane is unmatched. Out of all the restaurants I’ve visited in the UK, this place offers the best value for money. The quality of the food is consistently outstanding, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. It’s also my dad’s favorite spot, which says a lot. The lamb is always tender and full of flavour, and the portions are the most generous you’ll find anywhere. At the time of writing this, everything in the pictures was under £20. That level of quality and taste at such a price is rare to find. If you’re looking for delicious, well-prepared food at amazing value, Kobane is the place to go. Highly recommended.

First time to visit here after hearing about it. I didn’t know what to order but the person serving me recommended to get the qozi. I got a mixed qozi as people recommended the lamb. The meat was roasted and then mixed with vegetables and a sauce. It tasted fresh and it comes up side dishes + a nan. I want to try the grilled food next time. 😊

Delicious tasting freshly made home cooked style cuisine. A wide variety of offerings on the menu of both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. The lamb was so tender, grilled food had the perfect marination and flavour, the lady waiter gave us exceptional service and even a bit more to try than we had ordered. The owner is a lovely warm and welcoming man who is willing to talk to his customers and shows his passion and generosity. A great family dining experience having found this place by chance. We will be returning very soon.

First time ordering a takeout, and Kurdish food. Absolutely fantastic food and portions. The lamb shish is outstanding, so light yet flavoursome. The surprise dish was the side of potatoes, amazing flavours. Will definitely order again. Next time maybe inside the restaurant. Keep up the good work.

I didn't mind the food being late but it was cold! So the meat was dry & chewy

This was not something we usually ordered but the food was so delicious. We had Chicken Tikka Kebabs, and ordered Cheesy Chips as well, but didn't need them as the main was so filling. We will definitely order again in the future. The local paper rated the restaurant highly, and we can see why. I want to try something different next time.

Update Sep 2024: The restaurant has improved significantly withing the last four years. The food is arguably the best in Huddersfield. The price is higher compared to the other Kurdish returants but so is quality of the food. Despite the difference in quality, considering lower prices would be a massive plus for the resturant Washing facilities could be better but they're definitely usable. The atmosphere also seems to have improved somehow.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Kobane Kurdish Restaurant. We ordered the lamb Qozi, and it was absolutely great! The portion size was huge, and the food was incredibly tasty. The service was excellent as well—very attentive and friendly. I especially enjoyed the soup that was served before the main meal, and the Kurdish tea at the end really completed the whole experience. Thank you for a wonderful meal! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Kurdish cuisine.

Called today with my mate the food and service was outstanding as usual, The chicken kebabs are the finest I've tasted , the lamb soup i could do a bucket full its that good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kobani Kurdish Restaurant in Huddersfield, and it was a delightful experience. I ordered the lamb shranq, lamb qozy, and lamb kabab, and all dishes were exceptional. The flavors were rich and authentic, showcasing the best of Kurdish cuisine. A pleasant surprise was the complimentary meat or lentil soup that was offered at the beginning of the meal. This warm and flavorful soup set the tone for the rest of the dining experience. The Kurdish naan served alongside the dishes was fresh and perfectly baked, complementing the main courses beautifully. The service at Kobani was outstanding. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident and much appreciated. One thing to note is that the restaurant has changed their prices a few times recently. While I noticed that they adjusted their prices again today, I believe the prices from a few months ago were more reasonable and affordable. Nonetheless, the quality of the food and the overall experience make it worth trying. Overall, Kobani Kurdish Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Despite the recent price changes, it remains a place I highly recommend and will definitely return to.

Friendly driver. Fresh food. Piping hot. Big portion sizes. Veey generous. Very tasty. Deep cooked meat and chicken. The Bread is freshly baked, soft and hot. Meat is seasoned well. Salad is really nice. Just like a hearty home cooked meal. Love them!

Lentil soup was fantastic, lamb shank tender, and the sheesh kebab is best I've tasted in 23 years here in UK - almost crispy on the outside yet flavoursome and juicy on the inside. Stunning value for money. Definitely recommended. Came on Sunday evening family of 2 adults 2 kids. Clean environment.

This place has NO customer service skills whatsoever!! the kebab does not have any flavours at all. the chicken and meat are full of spices to get it tasty. Also, ridiculously over priced!! They don't even have a proper set of cutlery, I just saw a spoon. Their served dish does not look like what you see on the picture at all. Definitely do not go back there

I order lamb qozi, with lentil soup and naan. The food came fresh, the lamb meat fell of the bone so easily, was so soft and melts in your mouth! Their food was really top quality and really went well with the lentil soup and naan. I really enjoyed this and I would recommend to anyone else. I even been to their restaurant few times, such amazing vibes, nice seating area and either way their food is always too notch via delivery or eating in, defo one of the top restaurants for great quality food

Delivery was delayed twice, after the second notification I called the restaurant and was told they had not yet started to prepare it. It arrived 35 minutes late and stone cold. Very disappointing as we had heard great things. The food tasted good, even cold, but we’d all moved past hunger and just felt annoyed. The potato side was actually aubergine, inedible as it was swimming in cold oil and the naan was just a chilly flat bread. Could I have microwaved it? Probably, but the point of a takeaway

The food was excellent and delivered within the time band. I had mixed kebabs, the chicken was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The chunks of lamb were tender and pink in the middle. The mince kebab was excellent and the portion size was so good that I left some of the chicken wings. I also tried one of the desserts and was not disappointed at all. I will definitely order from here again.

To be honest this wasn’t great. The lamb meat was chewy and the chicken was burnt and flavourless. The potato dish was nice and so was the bread but that’s it. The polystyrene trays they put the food in makes the food soggy and have a weird taste. The chips were soggy too. First time trying Kurdish food but wouldn’t recommend. Can’t comment on service or atmosphere as we ordered takeaway from them.
