Afrochops in Leeds

We are so lucky to have Afrochops visit us with their delicious food in Meltham at the Fourth Fiend taphouse. 🙌🍻 I’m vegetarian and tried the ‘veggie jollof with puff puff and corn on the cob’, and it’s so tasty that I’ve had it two days in a row! My mum and partner are meat eaters and had the jollof rice with jerk chicken skewers and were super impressed too. The team are so friendly and helpful, and I would 100% recommend them. Thank you Afrochops! 🙏

We ordered the egusi soup, jollof rice, puff puffs, and beans with fried plantain, and I'd definitely recommend these. The food was delicious every time, so we're already planning our next visit! This place is incredibly friendly to those with dietary restrictions Eg. Vegetarian so I would recommend :)

Everything was great. Timing of delivery. Customer service. The food!!!! We Loved everything I got (pounded yam, egusi soup, efo riro, jollof rice, beef stew, ayamashe and beef suya). Didn’t get any pictures because we inhaled it all but going back soon for more and will hopefully get some pictures. Highly recommend!

I've given this place several tries and yesterday was the final straw. Ordered meat soup which I previously had only to be told its only beef in it once I got there and paid. If they didn't have all the proper meat to make it properly take it off the menu. Even the broth was weird and taste thrown together like pepper and water.

I got the Suya for starter, the egusi with Poundo for main and Puff puff with sauce for desert and all was really really tasty! delivery was slightly earlier and food was still warm. would recommend 👌

All I can say was the stewed beef was on point, the plantain and puff puff was good, but the jollof rice was on another level.

Meat was cooked to perfection, best chicken I’ve had in Leeds. They don’t usually deliver to my postcode but made an exception to go out of their way for me. Above & beyond, would definitely recommend

Food was absolutely disgusting!! Worst £18 iv spent. Had a bit of chicken and had to spit it out was awful! Fried rice was disgusting aswell and didn’t state anywhere that it had prawns in it so left it all. Ended up ordering a kebab from Indian.

Was back in Leeds briefly, had to try out Afrochops after the great reviews and amazing pictures/videos. Ordered a variety from the menu to take back up to Newcastle. Delicious mouth watering food, service was impeccable, all ready on time for collection, food was still hot even after the 1.5 hour journey back, portion sizes were great value for money and again I'll say dishes were delicious. Can't wait to be back in Leeds to order another feast. If you haven't tried Afrochops yet... Give it a go, you will not be disappointed. I just hope and pray for business expansion to Newcastle in the future!!

It took almost 2 hours to receive our food which is an absolute disgrace. So imagine now having to eat food that does not taste nice. We ordered jollof rice, it tasted like Uncle Bens mircrowave rice, I’ve had Nigerian and Ghanaian jollof rice and this was not it at all. Just rice in a tomato base which was flavourless. My friend ordered jerk chicken they sent grilled chicken very flavourless too, simple salt they couldn’t do. Also, ordered suya beef which again flavourless, the spicy powder was the only hint of flavour throughout the entire meal. The puff puff and plantain were just full of oil grease and the plantain was burnt. The veg deal meal that was supposed come with a side of veg and a Jamaican veg patty also was a disappointment. The veg looked like it came straight out of a can and the veg patty never came :/ Very very disappointment meal would not recommend eating here!

Delivery service never keeps to time and you are not expected to express displeasure! Very arrogant! Rather than apologize and more importantly improve, they put up an attitude! Definitely lost a customer!!!

I got the shrimp & prawn fried rice, with curried chicken, extra chicken, plantain and chips! There was x1 prawn x2 shrimp in the rice, luckily I ordered extra chicken. The rice tasted like uncle bens with frozen veg, accompanied by a tomato sauce/base...no idea what that was supposed to be...but it wasn’t curry! Plantain...well that was burnt and was dripping in dirty, fatty oil it resembled an oil slick...the chips...have never seen anything like it before, rotten potatoes that were burnt and also resembled an oil slick. Overall I would NOT recommend if that was the standard of food they serve! Gives Caribbean food a bad name! Steer clear!

The staff members at this takeaway are so well mannered, great service and such a generosity of spirit. The food was seasoned to perfection and truly authentic. If you want food that is made with love and passion order from this restaurant/takeaway. The chicken fell off of the bone, the rice was unctious and every mouthful was a pleasure. The only problem was that I could have eaten more and my empty plate was a disappointment.Thank you Afrochops you are my new takeaway of choice. There is still a celebration happening in my mouth

Required food for a birthday party and when it came there was lots of it. The fried chicken was succulent and delicious with plenty of jollof rice. For vegetarians there was fried plantain and vegetable pattis enough for everyone. Great party with great food.

The food is 1st class, the customer service is amazing and they deliver too. I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Nigerian food

It’s a local African food place that’s oppened up round the corner and I can only say the chips are great and I’m looking forward to trying other things on the menu, would reccomend!😀

First visit to Afrochops and it wont be the last. The food was amazing. There is a fantastic choice of so many dishes and you will not be dissapointed. The staff are very polite and pleasant and nothing is too much trouble for them ....

We had the food delivered for a leaving lunch at work. The good was really delicious and everyone enjoyed. The 'puff puff's' were scrumptious!!!! Would recommend everyone to try.

Ordered jollof rice, fried rice and eforiro with pounded yam-all very nice. Jollof rice had a nice smokey taste and eforiro very flavourful and all very fresh.

This was my first time trying African food and it definitely wasn't my last. Pounded yam and soup is amazing and the staff are helpful and friendly if you get stuck what to choose. I would definitely recommend this place.

Eaten here a few times and food is always delivered hot and fresh. I highly recommend the chicken jolof with plantain. Generous portions that are packed full or flavour for a really reasonable price.

Takeaway arrived on time and it was GOOD, AUTHENTIC African food! It’s like a festival in your mouth and is really affordable. Food was so wholesome, I can’t wait to order again.
