Ryan's Kitchen in Leeds

I am a big fan of jamaican food and this is by far the worst I tried. The jerk chicken is just brown soup with some chicken in it. Small portions and expensive. Not worth the price

Tried the curried goat with rice and peas. It was fire🔥. Lovely place, with a lovely atmosphere.

Great food and always friendly and smiley staff. With great vegans and gluten free options

Was recommended the curried goat. (The boss said it was a good day for it.) Beautifully cooked. Fantastic service. All round very good place for a quick casual lunch.

I wouldn’t even give one star this is NOT CARRIBEAN OR JAMAICAN FOOD !!!! I think it is Quite disrespectful that you are saying it is. I tried the food for the first time today and WOW I HAD TO SPIT IT OUT !! Disgusting !!!! I requested a refund with UBER Immediately!!

Ate at Ryans Kitchen for the first time and i am extremely disappointed, the jerk chicken tasted nothing like jerk chicken it was just burnt swimming in a oily sweet black stew. The curried goat was 80% bone. The reviews seem to suggest its good i don’t know if its a bad time but it definitely isn't worth the money.

Never tasted food with so much flavour, quick, tasty and good value for money. What else could you ask for.

LOVE Ryan's Kitchen - best Caribbean in Leeds in my opinion

I often call in to Ryan's on a Wednesday night after an evening class in Leeds. The food is always fantastic! Hearty portions cooked with effort and T.L.C. I travel from Bradford where there are a number of Caribbean eateries but none come close to Ryan's. His food is fresh, healthy & tasty. Goat curry, jerk chicken and Fried fish (my go-to dish!) are all superb! I wouldn't go anywhere else for a good quality, tasty feed!

Don’t go to the bland food places on the leisure park. Head to Ryan’s (other places on Kirkstall Road are also available) and get yourself some Jerk Chicken or some Goat Curry. Food for the soul

Went with a friend, we shared peppered steak and traditional chicken curry along with a load of sides. Their mac and cheese was fire. Food was proper! Really down to earth typical Caribbean place. Will be returning with bells on. Thanks!

Fried fish = INCREDIBLE. Crispy outside but flaky and delicious in the middle. I’ve recently made the transition to pescatarianism and finding well cooked and tasty fish is surprisingly hard to come by, Ryan’s Kitchen is a new favourite 😁 Should have took a picture but I was being a gannet! Next time!

Not good food just about edible cafe could do with a good clean staff untidy with hair a mess should have hairnets on didn’t like seeing rice and pea’s stacked up in plastic boxes our first and last visit

Had a small mishap when we went in where our orders got confused with someone else's, people working were lovely and when we came back made us fresh food, and allowed us to keep the other food we had been given originally, offered us a drink also as an apology. The food is lovely, so so full of flavour, and the meat is delicious and tender. Just enough spice to not be overwhelming, and good portion sizes. Due to original error I got to try jackfruit too, and it was so lovely, so thank you for our food!

We ordered Curried Goat and Ackee with Veg. The goat dish was 50% bone. Ackee dish was literally just fried peppers with some chilli. I initially wanted to order jackfruit but they had ran out (not the firs time...) Definitely felt like a rip off paying 11 pounds for each dish. NOT a good value for money... Will not come back

First time trying this place and wow!! The food is insanely good and the portions are huge - great value for money. Ditch the fast food chains around the corner and go to this place! So so good!!🥵❤️

Goat curry was good, mac and cheese had good flavour but was luke warm and congealed. Delivery was late and we werent notified until the last minute

Food was amazing, full of flavour and big portions. We had the boneless chicken and the fish, upgrade to the rice and peas and get dumplings of course. Will defo be coming again.

Hearty home food served with soul and lots of love

A great vegan destination. My jackfruit dish was great although for me it lacked the authentic flavours as the sweetness was overpowering. Fantastic soft spiced chips. Would like to also see the rice and peas jazzed up a little bit to be a bit more authentic, but overall good meal.

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good music, and top-tier tasty food. No alcohol sold but can BYOB.

Best Jamaican food I’ve ever had

We bought Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat with rice and are blown away by how delicious and well seasoned they are. The meat is spiced well and melts in our mouth. The owners are friendly and helpful and we were extremely happy with our order. Our takeout food was warm and delicious as they took care to wrap our boxes in foil to keep warm. Thank you for the delicious food.

I won’t say don’t go there and I don’t post reviews slamming people but when I have to I do it, service less than poor place was dirty lady overcharged us for 10£ given us written receipt so you won’t actually see how much you paid for one dinner, diff price online diff when you get there things missing from menu and my son had a food poison being sick last night just right before our holiday probably after fried chicken everything there is wrong this was my partner bday dinner we are very disappointed and would have to report place for inspection I wish people well but you have to have some standards people!

Over priced rubbish. All the food was over salted. Dumplings where cooked well, but over salted. The curried chicken was just swimming in water.salty scotch bonnet water. Can't justify paying over £14 for it. £10 in Bradford and you get steamed veg with it. Bigger portion and the taste is 80% better. Very disappointing. 😔

This place deserves much more attention. Everything about this place is 10/10. Every time I’ve ordered it’s been perfect. The chicken is so tender and full of flavour yet not too spicy unless you want it to be. Staff are all friendly and very grateful and the owner really knows his stuff, worked hard to get to where he is. I’m always here and always recommend to my friends and they all love it. The Jamaican chicken curry with a dumpling is a must try. ❤️

He can cook but was shocked when he decided to charge £3.50 for the tiniest bit of plantain, 5 slices.. You can buy a whole plaintan for that or less. Not being funny but if you’re from a Caribbean background you’ll know that is daylight robbery. I understand it’s a business but don’t take advantage!!

Great food, generous portions deliciously tasty, and really good value for money. More importantly nearly all the food is gluten free, dairy free, and nut free. Definitely not flavour free though! Friendly staff too. The staff are really helpful and well informed about allergies. Go visit this place or have a meal delivered. You won't regret it!

Wasn’t as much flavour as I was expecting, but it was still nice :) and the dumplings are really good!!

Don’t bother, makes the maccies down the road look like a Michelin star. However, I recommend the goat curry, it was tasty but I suggest ordering about 8 portions, as it’s essentially a box of bone with a tablespoon of sauce, which would work out at an absolute steal at 64 quid I’d say. Ryan’s kitchen needs a reality check. Oh and the mac n cheese is missing the mac.

Delicious food...even my husband enjoyed it and he's a really fussy eater! Great delivery and before time, by a delightful lady! It's not my first time, with this company....never disappointed!

I was shocked the chicken was super dry I couldn't taste any flavour it wasn't soft at all. The rice was also dry and lacked flavour I genuinly haven't had a takeaway like this before. Hope he improves. The delivery was fantastic though.

Got the jerk chicken, and it was delicious. Tasted awesome, good salt level and the chicken was very tender. Was also pleasantly surprised by how much chicken I was given, and how more-ish the sweet gravy is. The staff were very friendly and the kitchen has a nice relaxed vibe to it. Would definitely recommend.

I'm fed up of seeing the "I ordered rice and peas & only got rice, no peas". Google Jamican rice & peas, it's not rice and garden peas. Although garden peas would go well with most of the food. Anyway, have a good day.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Taste is always excellent and love sitting there and enjoying the loud music and noisy kitchen. All part of the atmosphere. Not too many seats available if you want to eat in. One of my comfort food places in Leeds.

Amazing tasting food. Staff are funny and passionate about the food they make which is great to see from a local takeaway that also has a small dine in area.

Called up to ask if they were accepting deliveries which I was told yes for the next 20 minutes( I didn't want to order on just eat incase money was taken and they weren't still taking orders ) put order in straight away, money was taken £30. Yes it will be refunded but not straight away, leaving us without money to order from elsewhere

Always order from Ryans and it's always on point. Food is amazing, hot and always flavoursome. I've never ordered food as good as this. Really good portion sizes too. Lady who delivers the food great customer service, really nice person. Will definitely keep ordering from here, nowhere else is offering the level of service Ryans is.

Absolutely amazing food! so tasty and well cooked honestly would recommend this place to anyone really enjoyed our food! The Mac and cheese is amazing and the jerk chicken is cooked so well! There was a problem with the website order and it got cancelled in error by the shop I called the restaurant and they were extremely polite and helpful and actually delivered our meal and did not charge us for the food! I have never experienced customer service as good as this from any restaurant/takeaway before. They even added extras to our order I am so impressed, great-full and thankful! Thanks Ryan’s Kitchen you have really made a stressful week soo much better! This was our first time ordering and we will 100% order again xxxx

Chicken was good, but the 'rice and peas' is actually rice and BEANS which is different and would have changed my order if they had described it properly

The food was really nice but the chicken curry gave us the runs. She initially had half of it, and then got the runs later. Didn't make the connection initially. I put the other half in the fridge and had it 2 days later, also got the runs.

Let me in an a while after they were meant to be closed just so I could get some food. Incredible curried goat and fantastic service.

After a hard days work, decided to place my first order with Ryan's Kitchen through Just Eat...Placed a £30 order that never came! They informed that food was delivered...erm no it didn't! I have cameras round my property and no one turned up with my bag o food! Wasted over an hour salivating by the window! Not gonna waste my money and time next time...Will stick to cooking my own dinner...at least my belly will be full! Tried ringing them several times from 9.30pm till 10.15pm...line constantly engaged.

Our order never even arrived! Couldn't get through to the restaurant. Totally unacceptable. Will not be ordering from this place again. Been left with no options to order anywhere else cos everywhere else is closed. Should be ashamed.

But it has a McDonald's nearby, and an Aldi, and I know the true Ryan would never stand for it. But this gave me hope. It gave me hope to find Ryan.
