But the pork boat noodles that I ordered Besides waiting for a very long time After eating grilled pork The taste of boat noodles is like they didn't add anything at all. Feeling like boiling plain, bland water, I thought I ordered clear noodle soup. So I asked for seasonings to add chili peppers to make it a little darker. Asking for more fish sauce didn't help at all. I've never eaten boat noodles that tasted so bad before. Even though I'm abroad, it shouldn't taste this bad. I often eat at the York branch. So I expect that this branch will be just as delicious.

A very nice restaurant, delicious food, I recommend it.

This was my second visit to this restaurant. I had a good experience there last summer, so I decided to bring my friends and family during the break on February 25. My wife, my mother, and I ordered some soup dishes. My wife had pork noodle soup, I had duck noodle soup, and my mom had wonton soup. Unfortunately, none of the dishes were hot enough. My mom's wonton soup didn’t seem to be cooked properly, and we had to ask for it to be reheated. Even after that, it still wasn’t cooked well because my mom given me one to try. That night, my wife ended up vomiting and thought there might be something wrong with the pork. She then experienced diarrhoea for a week. My 80-year-old mom also had a rough night, suffering from diarrhoea more than 10 times and dealing with it for two weeks. I'm not sure if we should report this to someone about this poisoning instance, but it was a really awful experience for us.

The food was delicious, lovely flavour and fresh. I would definitely visit again. Lovely staff too.

Zaap has been around for sometimes now. Located near the busy bar arears off Vicar Lane. It's nearby to the bars but when you walk in you have to wait. Sometimes for a long period in the busy times. Ordered Thai Green Curry. Service is always great if but slow. What did I expect if it's full of diners. It's never less than over half full when I've been in, no matter the times I've visited. Lots of choice as always. The portion has always been smaller than the Western perception of a full mea/bowll. Im sure this was the case before the cost of living. Im unsure if prices have gone up. Maybe the viewpoint is wrong, and it's traditional servings. After the meal, I was satisfied and did not feel over full. Could have eaten another, tho. I would go again as the greatest Thai restaurant in Leeds no longer exists, so this is a good place to visit. Update: On a recent visit, I was shocked to see they add a tip onto the bill, leaving you thinking you're in the USA! I always tip, but I tip what I feel they deserve. Their method left me shocked.

My husband and I had dinner at Zaap Thai Leeds over our anniversary weekend, and as always, it was an amazing experience! The food here never disappoints – authentic, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. Their chicken pad ga prow is a standout dish and instantly transports me back to holidays in Thailand. The service was fantastic, with friendly and attentive staff who made our visit even more enjoyable. We ended our meal by sharing a delicious banana dessert, which was the perfect sweet treat to round off a great evening. Zaap Thai is hands down one of the best places for authentic Thai food in Leeds, and we’ll definitely be back again soon. Highly recommended!

Brilliant place, great food, great service and great atmosphere, very much reminiscent of a Bangkok street market. Will return. Shame the prices aren't the same as Thailand ha!

Zaap has a great lively atmosphere, making it feel like a true Thai street food experience. It gets busy on weekends, so expect a wait for a seat. The food was amazing with big portions—we had Tom Yum soup, Pak Bung Fai, Pad Thai, all full of flavour. It's definitely worth a visit!

2/17/25 I wanted to love this I left here in TEARS and what should have been a lovely lunch alone before my hair appointment up the road went south and sour and for no apparent reason other than they FORGOT ME ! How they could not see that I hadn’t eaten after 40 minutes is a surprise. They made it right by letting me leave with my lunch packed to go after I had been there 50 minutes utes in total. None of what they tried to explain made sense and I waited patiently for over 25 minutes before I asked please where is my lunch. After all that I had to take it to go and I was given it at 120p when I had to be at my hair at 130p. The taste was good though I had to eat while getting my blow dry to it was mostly cold. They apologized and I think they meant it still it ruined my leisurely afternoon and I still don’t understand what happened! Nice place and they seemed kind however if a hot quick lunch is needed I would skip here! DOESNT HAPPEN

Wow, wow, wow! Simply, the best Thai I have ever had. Got the lunch special which was an entree and main for £12. Everything about the main was perfection - pork, veg, rice and the most delicious sauce. Got in for an early lunch and by the time I left it was very busy. Popular for good reason.

The food is tasty however took us 30minutes to get a table and another one hour++ to get our food, extremely slow service. We have been to York Zaap Thai which offers a lot faster service

A great restaurant I’ll be returning many times to, and if you enjoy Thai food I’d highly recommend. All the staff are brilliant, and despite being a solo diner I felt welcome as soon as I arrived. They had no issues accommodating me even though it was fairly busy on the weekday evening and the level of service continued throughout my stay. The decor is great with lots of authentic touches, and depending on where you sit can admire the action in the kitchen too. Both the food and drink menus are extensive, with all the classic dishes as well as some more unique items offered. While my initial drink order was rather slow to arrive it was not the same with the food - super quick with great portion sizes, presentation and taste! Rather than a main dish I opted for a number of small plates which worked well and are large enough to share. A great experience and highly recommended!

This is my favourite thai food restaurant ever. The food selection is out of this world and tastes amazing. All very authentic. The decor inside and the staff really make you feel like you're in Bangkok.

Ordered starters and two main courses. Starters very nice, however the main course of chicken in a sweet and sour sauce wasn't, the chicken was 'off' brought it to the attention of the waiter. He took it away. He then returned and said the chicken was cooked fresh in the morning, I didn't doubt that but it tasted off. He then said he would replace it, which was very good, we didnt want any meat, so asked if we could just have vegetables, this was agreed. However, these arrived cold, the chicken had been taken out and we'd been given the original portions. I called over a waitress, I explained what had happened etc. She said THE CHICKEN IS PART COOKED EVERY MORNING, SO ITS QUICKER TO COOK WHEN IT GETS BUSY. I DONT KNOW IF ITS THE RIGHT OR WRONG THING TO DO!!!!!! I said you have to be very careful with chicken as it's full of bacteria. She wasn't bothered. Both me and my daughter have been ill. Will never eat there again.

Had a lovely time at Zaap tonight! Staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was great too. A great place to come for food with friends.

A place you must visit if you enjoy This food. I was informed that a lot of the dishes are based on traditional Thia street food. I went with my friend who is from Thailand and they loved their meal. Quite a lot of Thia people in the restaurant, 😃which is always a good sign

Absolutely fantastic A bit mad, tuk-tuk's in the middle of the restaurant and street signs to make it feel like you are on the street. The food was brilliant, fresh and spicy and the pork bao bun was delicious. It was really busy and had a great atmosphere. People were queuing out of the door as we left. The service was also fab Cant fault it

The food YET AGAIN was second to non, I don’t know how but the service out did the food, Came in about 10 minutes perfectly cooked, The staff know the menu like it’s the back of their hand and you never have to ask for the table to be cleared because that’s already been done, We will continue to come back again and again!

Had a lovely meal here today. The servers/waiters are very nice and friendly and the food was delicious! Love the decorations too. It was quite quiet as it’s Monday evening so all food was on the table within 10-15 minutes. Will definitely visit again :)

Starter Z1 Bangkok Food Plate 16 It includes siu mai, fried wontons, chicken skewers, Japanese dumplings and Thai fish cakes with three kinds of sauces, each one is particularly suitable. No.23 Chicken and Shrimp Wonton Soup 10.3 Very delicious soup. We drank all the soup. No.32 Braised pig trotters and eggs (with rice) 13.95 We didn't ask for rice, so we asked in a friendly manner if we could exchange the rice for an egg. After asking the chef, he agreed. I have a high opinion of this kind of restaurant that knows how to adapt (the pig's trotters are really delicious) No.55 Smooth Egg Noodles 12.75 For this hat trick, the noodles are hidden at the bottom. You have to be creative. I didn’t even eat the noodles until I was so full that I finally discovered it🥹 No.61 Raw flower crab and papaya salad🦀 13.75 I highly recommend the papaya salad, but the crab is just average. The seasoning is too strong and salty and I can’t eat it. I ate all the papaya salad~

Amazing food. There is always queue. However I only had to wait for 5 min, impressive. They serve a huge variety of diah including dumplings, wonton soup,etc.

One of the best Thai spots I’ve ever been to! The flavors were authentic, bold, and absolutely delicious. Every dish was perfectly balanced, with just the right mix of spice and freshness. The ingredients tasted super fresh. The staff was welcoming and attentive! Salad with crabs - amazing!

Zaap is amazing for vegan food! They have lots of options and even have 'meat alternatives' we tried the gyoza and the vegan chicken thai green curry they were both delicious!

We stopped by around 5pm on Friday evening. There were plenty of seats and we sat in one of the 2 tables near the kitchen. It quickly filled up after we arrived. The service was friendly and attentive and the waitress was always around when we needed her. We started with the tempura king prawns and spring rolls. Both were fantastic but the prawns were especially good. I would get 2 orders of those next time. We ordered the beef Massaman Curry and a chicken Tom Yum soup. As well as a Thai iced tea. The Massaman was expertly spiced and had quite a lot of meat in it. The portion was generous. The Tom Yum was so fragrant and warming. Every bite nourished you, and the portion was also large. The Thai tea was good, but not the best- a little bitter. Despite the pace of the service and the style of restaurant we didn’t feel rushed and it was quite comfortable. The total bill was £46 with service. They offer a 10% student discount but not on Friday and Saturday.

Authentic, great atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. We ordered a few different dishes to share and were very impressed with them especially the Pad Kaprow and Beef Panang curry, tasted exactly like the stuff you get back in Thailand and the portions were perfect. There was a line when we entered but it only took over 5 minutes to be seated and our food was bought out within 10 minutes. The atmosphere truly felt like a Thai food market, would definitely recommend this place and would revisit.

Fantastically friendly staff with the right amount of attentiveness. The food was top notch and served very quickly. Tables are quite small but that's staying true to its street food style. Will definitely go again.

Got to experience their amazing & delectable Thai food with a tinge of street style vibes. Eye catchy place, can be easily spotted by their neon lights, looks super busy but they have managed to keep the service top notch. Servers are always active with a smile on their face. Really vast menu to confuse you but if you are a picky eater it's perfect as you have all the possible options to choose from. They got the Asian beers you can try - Changs/Tiger which goes with the prawn crackers, nice collection of cock/mock-tails too, we tried the espresso martini. For appetisers, went with the Veg gyoza which was pretty good, sadly they were out of stock for the pork ribs that I wanted, tried pork neck instead which was pretty decent(won't go for it again). For the main course had the drunken pork noodles which was yum, I did customize this by asking for flat noodles and making it bit spicy-was worth it, we tried the Veg Pad Thai too which was a bit on sweeter side maybe coz of peanuts, but we did get the chili oil sauce to make up for the spice.. For deserts tried the Gluoy Chuem - Hot fried & caramelised banana in cold vanilla ice cream was a nice combo. Their portion is good enough to make you go for a long walk. Surely will be back to try the coconut based options and the soupy noodles and ask them to give the Thai spice version!

The food was amazing. The service was fast-paced, and the staff were very accommodating. There were a lot of people as we came in on a weekend lunchtime, but we got seated rather quickly, and food arrived straight away. It was a delight to dine in Zaap and would highly recommend their coconut and mango shakes!

Quite simply, I got food poisoning from my meal here. My dish (morning glory with belly pork) was the only thing that me, my sister and my mum didn't all eat a bit of in the 24hrs before eating here and the day after until I started vommiting etc. Thing is, I think this restraunt is great value for money and delicious food and good atmosphere, so it's really annoying having to write this bad review on the food. My sister and mum very much enjoyed their currys too. I would also say, i firstly got given the wrong dish but didnt actually realise until the waiter came over with a 4th main, about 15 mins into us eating, and i thought oo that looks more like the morning glory i ordered 😂. They took my incorrectly given, half eaten first dish away and probably threw it in the bin instead of just leaving it with me as tbh i would have finished both - wasted food :(. I cant complain about that much though as I did in the end recieve all that we ordered. Dont really have a conclusion to this, just please Zaap review your food and safety standards please!! Friendly staff, food is fantastic, quick service even though it was busy, the prawn massaman was perfect.

Spend wonderful times with friends. Considered it is my first try of Thai food I am pleasantly surprised. I had Duck Bao Ban (sliced duck breast, jasmine rice, boiled agh and cabbage and sauce, all very tasty. I loved the way it is served separately from the sauce so that you can try the sauce and add to your taste. A glass of red wine Old Gum Tree Schiraz, Australia, complemented the dish very well. The atmosphere is fine, but a bit noises for me. I prefer quieter places, yet it is very nice for a change or if you it quite loud. Rather busy on Friday night. The service was quite quick and the staff attentive and friendly. Needs rebooking, though people walk in, but have to stand waiting.

Had chicken pad thai which was delicious, with a Lychee soda. Chicken is halal. Great service, nice vibes. A little on the expensive side for a casual eatery, but nice.

Staff were nice and service was good but the food was average, not authentic enough for me. Having lived and worked in many parts of Thailand and eating and cooking with locals, I guess I expected more heat in my food, there was not enough Thai basil or any bird eye chillis in my Pad Kra Pao.

The best thai food I have tasted outside of Thailand! Walking into this place is like being transported to a road side street food resturant in Bangkok! The decor, the smells the layout 👌 the busy nature of the restaurant really adds to the atmosphere. When the food arrives it does not disappoint.. very authentic tasting food , fresh, hot , spicy .. all served with a smile and very reasonable prices for the quality. Highly recommended Thai in Leeds!

The atmosphere is lively and bustling, which seems to be the vibe they're aiming for. The food is quite good, with portion sizes that are decent—enough to satisfy if you're not extremely hungry, though not exceptionally large. Service was acceptable, and we were comfortable with the 10% service charge added to the bill. I tried the morning glory tofu, and it was quite good. I would recommend this place for a casual, relaxed meal. However, it does tend to get busy on weekends, so be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak times.

Got the £12 lunch deal and it was SO tasty and more than enough food. Amazing value for money. It's a busy place so won't suit those with sensory issues. But we were well looked after and had a great experience.

A great place for something to eat. I had some ribs and duck noodly main that was served quickly and delicious. Not expensive, about what you would expect. It's an interesting place inside too. Oh and we left a bag in there by accident, returning an hour later to pickup - we will love them for ever for returning that, as it would have caused us a lot of trouble otherwise.

I used to live in Thailand for several years and this is some of the best Thai food I've had in the UK. The range of menu items is staggering - the fish in particular is always excellent. Lots of north eastern Thai dishes makes this a cut above others. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love this place. Yes, it's a small chain, but emphasis on the "small". Great casual, fun place that's perfect for lunch. The food is ridiculously good, great value- it's not the cheapest option around, but it's not expensive either and the food is frankly amazing!

The food is great! Although, the service not so much. We came during the 2 courses for 1 meal and the servers gave us a receipt without counting the discount. So, watch out. And this has happened twice. Should've taken the service charge off.

The restaurant was accommodating to vegetarian changes to dishes and the cocktails and bar staff were very nice and the food was quite inexpensive. The waiting staff were rather cold or pleasant with no in-between. Chicken was overcooked, the rice was dry and anything fried tasted like the oil needed changing. My biggest gripe was everything coming out as it was done instead of together meaning we were waiting between 10-15 minutes from the first dish arriving to the last person receiving theirs. Although I understand why this is the case since it can get busy but it's not indicative to a good group eating experience.

So love it, so so delicious Thai food. I really love the atmosphere and decoration inside, like the vibe. Always crowded but you wouldn’t need to wait for long. The staff are nice. I had pork belly with morning glory rice, bubble tea, papaya salad and pad seeaew. Everything is so delicious which makes us full. Totally worthy with the price. Highly recommend

55A Khao Soi Gai Voted the world's best soup in 2022, yellow curry noodle soup Thought I’d try something new, great mix between curry and soup. Great flavours, mild and aromatic. Big portions, great price, excellent service. And such a cool authentic vibe and aesthetic.

Love Zaap! We have one in Nottingham So we headed straight for the Leeds one. It didn’t disappoint.

I love Zaap! We had delicious starters of Gyoza, Spring Rolls and Kanom Jeeb. We tried the two Margaritas on the menui- Mango & Chilli and Passionfruit & Ginger. 😍 These were delicious. Mains we opted for Chicken drunken noodles and Todu Pad Thai- all amazing and can't wait to be back!

A wonderful experience and I felt really like I was in Korea their and I felt every penny of my money spent.

I'm honestly surprised. Having been to Thailand, I expected the food to taste nothing similar to what they served there. But... It was surprisingly close. Ordering the Panang curry and mango sticky rice I have to say it was so close to what I had whilst abroad. The curry wasn't spicy at all, but I understand they have to alter recipes to fit British taste buds so I can understand that. In terms of quality, it was too notch, A tad bit expensive when you look at it from a broad angle but worth the money. The service was great, nice, clean and quick, the food came out super promptly and I wasn't waiting long at all. Best place for Thai food that I've been to in Leeds so far.

Gorgeous food . Thai green curry lovely but hot 🔥 🥵 . So i will try the milder curry next time. Vegetable rolls are Gorgeous. Cocktails are spot on. Staff extremely kind, welcoming and very chatty. Wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend 👌 👍
