Good drinks. Surprising lack of cats and cat decor. Great live music on a Wednesday night. Relaxed vibes and well priced drinks. But again, no cats.

We were looking for a late night bite and shared the charcuterie board and cheese plate. Perfect size and very good selection.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful and the service and food was spot on. Just what we needed. Thank you so much. 💓

This bar is a very calm and civilised space for a quiet drink away from the chaotic hubbub of the city's main nightlife venues.

Went out for a nice lil get together with some old colleagues. Got to see some fun live music and the staff were all amazing. Didn’t try much food or anything there but it was a good time overall.

Came across this place when visiting York and it was amazing! Service brilliant, food amazing and the selection was one of the best I have ever seen. If it wasn’t for living so far, this would a regular for us!

Love this place. Such a chilled out atmosphere with lovely luxurious furniture. Our go to place when we’re in York. Easy to miss, right next the the Stonebow pub, give it a go!!!!

My new favourite bar in York. A wonderfully unique and cultured oasis snuggled away in the heart of the city. It offers fantastic food/wine/cocktails/draught lagers at a competitive price. The staff are polite helpful and very friendly. I must also mention that they employ the most attractive barmaid in York!

Very nice lounge bar, prices reasonable considering the environment and service quality.

Pleasant place to sit and have a drink, nice comfy chairs and sofas etc - obviously there's a big cocktail list and we were happy with our drinks. I'd probably choose here over the Impossible bar in terms of York cocktail bars, but that said its doesn't have a particular wow factor about it.

Stumbled across this gorgeous small venue on Sunday evening. Was quiet (but it was a Sunday). Very opulent furnishings, friendly knowledgeable bar staff. I could have sat there for hours with my delicious mocktail. Would definitely revisit and try the food menu next time.

This is a really lovely relaxing bar that is located next to the main bus stop in York. It’s so nice and relaxing that you will probably want to stay on longer and end up missing your bus! Lovely relaxing ambiance, dark with candles. Lovely staff and charming owners. Great choice of drinks and they serve a lovely cheese board. Highly recommended

Not bad, nice and comfortable seating with a relaxed atmosphere but service was slow and £2.10 for a dash of soda? Really? The excuse was that it's bottled. I don't care. It's fizzy water and it's like £0.65 a litre in a supermarket. When the beer was £7 a pint and a medium wine similar, they could at least provide the dash of soda required at a reasonable price.

The service is so slow we could have drove back to Grimsby and back again before our food came out and cold to boot.

This is a beautiful cafe, and l love going there on Friday nights when there is live music and just have tea or hot chocolate. The vibe is calm and chill.

This establishment is one that is so relaxing and enjoyable you don't want to leave. The staff are lovely and polite, and SO helpful.

Beautiful little hidden gem with great cocktails. The live music was an unexpected and wonderful surprise and there was a very cosy atmosphere. We had a great evening here celebrating a birthday and will definitely be back for more cocktails and live music in the near future! Came back again months later and the atmosphere here is just so lovely. The live music on a Saturday is a very welcome addition. There is table service and the staff are wonderful. Would absolutely recommend!

Great place for brunch, afternoon coffee, or evening cocktails. An easy to miss gem with great decor and lovely service. Great options for hot drinks from the standard to the niche (lavender and apple latte!).

I love this place, the drinks was awesome, and the staff are very friendly. Also, there’re plenty of power socket, I can writing my essay there from afternoon till close.

Popped in after work, have been in previously and it's such a nice, quaint little place. Was recommended the black cherry rum and it was delicious. Have previously met the owner and all staff are friendly and approachable. Nice and quiet, comfy, high back seating and not loud so can have a quiet conversation

Super cute cafe and cocktail bar, had a pot of tea, + toast with jam and butter which was delicious. Cakes and tray bakes - which looked amazing - were also available to purchase. I recommend a look inside.

Visited York for a day and wanted a cocktail late in the afternoon to take a little break from walking around. Found this little place and it was perfect. Relaxing but luxury ambiance inside. Cocktail menu had enough of the classics but also some of their own signature cocktails. Bar man was very knowledgeable and gave the best service and drinks.

A well presented / lovely atmosphere cafe bar. Slightly up market feel. We had a hot drink with fruit cake and cheese. Enjoyed that. Staff were attentive and polite.

We've stopped for coffee and to warm up on a chilly winter afternoon and we really really enjoyed our time there! Very kind, lovely and attentive service, amazing music, interesting décor! I'll certainly visit again when I'm back in York, would love to taste the wine/cocktails!!

great cocktail bar. wouldn't have known it was there if we hadn't been taken. Fantastic service, especially from Sam who went out of her way to be really helpful, I mentioned that my phone was dead to my friends and she straight away offered a charger for it. lifesaver! and very considerate. also had a great Sweet Manhattan. highly recommend!

Strong cocktails and excellent service

Wel this place is a bit good like! A group of us decided to try this stylish place on Saturday evening, the first time for most. The cocktail selection is phenomenal, with some different and flavoursome selections. The Birra Moretti was on-form too! There was a pianist/singer as entertainment, who was insanely talented, playing some relaxing/funky tunes to enhance the already ultra cool feel to the place. Staff extremely attentive and welcoming, tones of praise I know, but all deserving. Honestly, give it a whirl!

Absolutely loved this bar. Popped in as we heard live music playing on the Saturday and enjoyed it so much we went back the next evening too! Friendly service and a great selection of drinks! Definitely worth a visit, will be going back next time we’re in York!

Absolutely stunning place with service to match. Decor and music great. Great selection of wines and spirits along with cocktails and hot drinks too. The owner Sam was very attentive and service with a smile, made you feel very welcome. Very classy place, called in for a glass, ended staying for 3 bottles! This is a must visit when visiting York and we will definitely visit here when we come back.

This was my first visit and I was so impressed. There was such a lovely, peaceful ambience with a beautiful choice of music in the background. I thought it had been sensitively decorated and created just the right atmosphere. The choice of food and drink was good and we were served with care and not hurried at all. I do hope people continue to support this new venture and make it the success it deserves. Clever idea to turn it into a cocktail bar in the evening and the addition of live entertainment will undoubtedly attract people through the doors. Best wishes. Rosemary

We're staying near the Monk's Cross park and ride and the Cat in the wall is the nicest bus shelter I've used in a long time. We may find our way back there this evening and if so, I'll add a review of it as a pub.

Highly recommend this relaxing cafe bar as a place to meet family or friends for a catch up over a cup of tea, coffee or glass of wine. Friendly, polite staff with lovely decor. I had rose China tea which was really refreshing and my niece had a coffee which she unusually finished and had a second! Pork pie and cheese board very good too. Will definitely visit again.
