Amazing fresh cooked food that was so good we went back the following night. Helpful staff and the chef was singing as he cooked. Very good value for money too.

Slowest service I have ever experienced! 55 minutes for a poached egg! Staff were not very helpfull. No explanation or apology for the delay.

Beautiful independent cafe, authentic decor, excellent welcome and well presented hearty breakfasts. We had the Tuscan breakfast and All English and both were lovely. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful fresh ingredients the service and care of the food is mad , I don’t really write reviews but when things are this good you have too ! For home delivery the price is lower than some well know places and I’m sorry but this is real Italian food. I’ve took a pic of my seafood pizza that is so hard to find done well in York. Eaten here twice now after finding this gem. It’s just outside the City walls at the Meiklegate . We have pizza there as a takeaway during lockdown and it is excellent. Once it opened up we went for an evening meal. It was wonderful again, I had chicken Milanese and my wife had pizza both incredible. Good value for money fresh food beautifully cooked excellent friendly staff. They sell nice wine and great local beers to compliment the food. We will be visiting again soon. If you visit York visit the Tazzina you will love it.

I ordered 40 minutes ago from here on Deliveroo , and wow...just wow ! We had 2 beautiful fresh pizzas and a bolognese. It was just fantastic very fresh also a fast delivery all at a fantastic price ! I think people forget that amazing restaurants do delivery and they won't cost more than other takeaways. Very happy and will 100% be ordering again and looking forward to us been out of lockdown and ill be visiting for a meal too. Thanks so much

Located by the Arch at the top of Micklegate is this wonderful little cafe/restaurant. We came here for an evening meal and have to praise the whole experience from ambience and quality of food to welcoming staff and value for money. It's not a large place so I'd recommend booking. If you're staying at the Premier Inn on Blossom Street its literally 1 minute walk, on the corner by the traffic lights. Give this a try if you're in the area you won't be disappointed.

We ate here by accident really, it was raining and it looked cosy but we luckily got a table. The atmosphere was very relaxed and cosy. The staff were all happy and friendly and the food was delicious.i had steak Diane and my husband had monkfish and both were equally as good. The prices were very reasonable. We were enticed in for an evening meal after spotting their specials on the outside blackboard earlier in the day. Bit of old school advertising . So glad that we did, as we had the pleasure of enjoying a lovely meal and served by a lovely couple who have created a friendly and relaxed dining experience. Well worth a visit.

We came here as a family and my youngest daughter said it was phenomenal!! Cant argue!!! Pizzas freshly made, lasagne was nothing short of superb and great service!

A surprise gem :)We were searching for dinner with the Family and happened to discover this little cafe/restaurant. They actually apologised for their “simple menu” but it was a great meal. The pizza was one of the best I have had and our 9 year old professed it to be the best he’d ever had (second only to a Family owned restaurant !). Lovely light base with oozing cheese and tasty toppings. They offered to box up leftovers too. We had wine, juice and would have loved desserts but were too full so took some cakes away. The staff/owners were so lovely and friendly. This was great value and we would definitely return next time we’re in York. It only has a few tables but worth a visit or failing that they seem to do a great takeaway service if you can’t make it in. Enjoy !

We grabbed a pizza from here on the way home from a day trip to York. We ordered the Americano. Proper thick-cut hat, tasty salami and pepperoni, oozing with tasty cheese and a rich tomato base. Really good take away pizza. Would highly recommend.

Completely delicious Napoli pizza. They were right when I asked for extra toppings, completely unnecessary!!! This is the first place in york I’ve found this pizzas. It’s a classic in Italy!!! Only complaint thinner crust for me next time!! Minor complaint as pizza dough was cooked and delicious. I will have garlic bread strips for lunch tomorrow. 10/10. You have my custom for a long time. Had a lockdown takeaway- fabulous- really tasty, good portion sizes and delivered right on time. Highly recommend- the meatballs were great, as was the pizza!

Just had a lock down take away from these guys having read good reviews. Was not disappointed. Absolutely spot on and correctly priced! Garlic bread, pepperoni pizza and meatballs. There was easily enough for two but so tasty we’ve finished the lot. Very clearly personally cooked and presented and makes us pleased to support great local businesses like this. Can’t wait for next time!

A small but lovely cafe with very pleasant staff, who make you feel very welcome. We just had hot drinks and a tea cake but everything we had was of great quality. The mint hot chocolate was delicious, I would definitely recommend! We ordered a tea cake to share and it was bought on two separate plates, which was such a nice touch. A great place to pop into while in York.

Friendly staff, very small cafe near the bar. Sandwiches were very average. Not too expensive. They only have soya as a dairy free option so if you aren’t a fan probably you can’t have hot drinks there.

No shortage of cafes in York and this one is pretty respectable, quite small but with big windows looking out towards Blossom street. Toast with Nutella and tea cake we’re fine as were the hot drinks. The cooked breakfasts looked tempting. Quick friendly service.

I called in on my own for breakfast after an overnight stay at a nearby budget hotel. I received a warm welcome and the service was friendly. The breakfast menu offers plenty of choice. I had Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on lovely Sunflower seed break, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Hot coffee gods too. Perfect little cafe, highly recommend

We went for a super breakfast but the cakes, snacks and lunches look equally good. My kippers with scrambled eggs and seed toast was outstanding, so was the coffee. Gluten Free was no problem to them. However do check the closing times as they close quite early in the afternoon

Had a light , and healthy , lunch here . My salad with melon , prociutto and olives was very tasty . Friendly staff too , good coffee and reasonable prices . Obviously very popular as it was full when I first arrived and it wasn't a day for sitting outside . Will go there again when I'm in York .

Had the best croissant in a long time a lovely cup of coffee and got to pick as many different jams as wanted. Staff were very welcoming and I love the tiles in the men's. Definitely coming back for more!

Surprisingly well priced, with a wide variety of light snacks and meals, this cafe deserves further exploration. Husband had a tasty plate of eggs royal and the breakfast that others were eating looked fabulous. Pity the chef burnt my Belgian waffle..... Also need to put a little more effort into presenting the plates, how could waffle possibly look unappetising? Surprisingly, it can......

Preferring to have breakfast a little later in the morning we chose not to have it at our hotel. This wonderful cafe is only 10min walk from where we were staying so we popped in on our first morning and enjoyed a great breakfast of scrambled egg on toast with a pot of tea and my other half had a bacon and mushroom ciabatta also with a pot of tea. They dont script with the portions and the tea was lovely and strong. The place is light and airy with lots of art on the far wall and house plants on the window sills. The staff are really friendly and welcoming the service was very quick. As a result we came here for our breakfast every day for the next three days. A nice relaxed way to start our days exploring the beautiful city of York. Thank you

Después de experimentar el desayuno con temas extraños en el camino, tuvimos otro desayuno aquí en nuestra última visita a York y fue bueno. Bonito tocino sin ahumar, salchicha grande, huevos, frijoles, tomates cherry y tostadas. El desayuno es alrededor de las 6. 75 con pudín negro añadido. Fue, con mucho, el mejor y más barato desayuno que habíamos tomado en York. Altamente recomendado.

What a lovely cafe! It's only a few minutes walk from the station. We called in this morning for coffee and a pastry. Both were excellent. Friendly people and a lovely atmosphere.

We choose to have our breakfast purely because they had kippers on the menu and it didn’t disappoint! We arrived about 30 mins after opening and got the last table, there are only 8 tables so fills up quickly. The kippers were tasty and served with scrambled egg and toast, my 11 year son ordered a full English and staff advised a kids size may be suitable as portions are quite large and this proved to be true, I hate food waste so am thankful for the advice rather than them thinking about just making money. Prices were reasonable, service quick and attentive.

Went for breakfast as staying at the Premier Inn opposite. Service was great and full breakfast was cooked perfectly and food was of good quality. We found the prices reasonable to. A lot nicer than the Premier Inn Breakfast and similarly priced. Would definitely recommend!

Came here with my girlfriend on a weekend break and had breakfast here, food was lovely and came just at the right time. The two waitresses were also lovely and very helpful. The Cafe itself is very nice with an italian theme throughout. Finally the breakfast we had was an absolute bargain and I would have paid double elsewhere for such a nice breakfast. Highly recommended!

Arriving early by train, we walked towards the bottom of Micklegate and found this lovely little cafe on the corner. It was busy (only one table by the door was empty), big picture windows, lots to see outside, so we went in and ordered breakfast.

Only open for breakfast and lunch, near the station by Micklegate bar, this is a basic but cosy cafe with friendly staff who take care in what they are serving up.

My partner and enjoyed a lovely full English breakfast here. Very helpful staff and a beautifully cooked breakfast. Always nice to see black pudding available! Will return when next in York. Many thanks.

Decidimos desayunar aquí el domingo pasado durante nuestro viaje a York. Tienen un amplio menú de desayuno, había salmón ahumado y huevos revueltos con tostadas sembradas que era encantador. Los otros en nuestro grupo disfrutaron de los suyos, que eran huevos Benedict y huevos Royale, todo estaba caliente y fresco, acogedora cafetería y el servicio era bueno. El único inconveniente fue que esperamos un poco, y terminamos nuestras bebidas en el momento en que se sirvió. Todavía lo recomendaría y volvería.

We had a perfect breakfast here, poached eggs and smoked salmon were really tasty, everything was perfect, staff are lovely, we wanted to have breakfast here on our last morning, but it was quite full, and they had a que outside, I highly recommend this cafe.

Ideal location near the station and Micklegate we used this little cafe as an alternative to a hotel breakfast. The room is welcoming and well decorated and although small we never had a problem getting a table. There is a good breakfast menu with dishes to suit all tastes and appetites. We had the eggs benedict and eggs royal one day, oath of these were very good. The second day I had the full English which was made with quality ingredients and my partner had the kippers which he said were delicious. Prices are very reasonable too. The staff are calm and efficient even when the place is full. I like to support good independent cafes like this. Definitely recommend.

Stumbled across this lovely little cafe on a family stay in York. What a great place! First of all it looks really great, as you can see from some of the below pictures. The menu is superb for breakfast with something for everyone.

We were staying at Blossom Street Premier Inn, but on the first morning we weren't impressed by the choice. So we decided to try somewhere else on our second morning. Looked on trip advisor and found fifty yards away was this little place, right by the City walls.

Situated on one corner of a busy road junction next to "Mickelgate" where you can walk the City walls.

I went here for brunch and what a wonderful little cafe this is. I had smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. It was delicious. The cafe is also dog friendly

Called in for a quick lunch on Saturday, great service, very friendly and fabulous food. Recommended we book if we wanted breakfast on the Sunday morning do we did for 9.30 when they opened. So glad we did by 10,00 they could gave filled all the table 3 times over, very popular little cafe, the breakfast was great and not expensive, well worth a visit.

Incluso entonces no abre hasta las 9. 00, lo cual me pareció un poco tarde para desayunar, especialmente porque todos tuvimos que coger trenes. Sin embargo, estaba bien; un montón de tiempo. Me encantó la decoración y el personal era amable y servicial. Mi huevos escalfados con un pedazo de morcilla estaban deliciosos. Mis amigos tenían huevos revueltos con salmón ahumado y dijo que era excelente. También nos gustó el pan que todos utilizamos. Con tres tazas de té, toda la factura era de menos de 23 libras que estaba bastante bien, creo. Sin duda volveré! (El miembro del personal de la naturaleza 'experiencias en algún otro comentario hicieron una aparición y era muy hablador, pero estábamos a punto de salir, así que no causa ningún problema, pero pudimos ver que él podría ser tomado el camino equivocado. )

Full breakfast was okay. Basic, bready Lincolnshire sausage let the plate down where other ingredients were much better. Good value at £5.50 and nice ambiance.

We should have complained straight away but a ‘mature’ member of staff was very ‘touchy’ which freaked my wife out. Another young lady was approached straight away and the ‘gentleman’ was too quick to help unbutton her coat, we all laughed it off...... the food is really good but we wont go back sadly because of this - sorry for such a low rating but things like this stick in your mind!
