Lovely little cafe, highly recommend the eggs benedict.

Popped in unannounced and expected to sit outside as we had a dog, however we were welcomed inside by the friendly staff. Food was really good! Side salad was really fresh! The bread used for the panini and sandwiches I was really impressed with! Spotted another table ordering an afternoon tea! Will deffo be back for that. Well worth the price and lovely little added extras with the pomegranate and orange slice on the salad!

Whilst calling in, unplanned, we found this little gem to have a very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Friendly, accommodating staff & Amazing food and treats. The portions are very generous and well worth the price.

Shared lovely tea and scones with a friend here last week. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere warm with a background of lovely conversations going on. Was able to have a gluten free fruit scone which was wonderful and my friend enjoyed a cheese one. Thank you for having a gluten free option, will definitely be visiting again.

Beautiful cafe with fantastic staff, food is always delicious, especially there jacket potatoes, the best in York 😋 do delicious cold milkshakes made with ice cream, best ones I've had. Home made cakes are very tasty & huge, have not managed to get through a full one yet 😆 chocolate orange scones are to die for. This cafe is dog friendly too which is handy and great when you have been on the green with the dogs for a run. Can highly recommend this lovely cafe See you all again soon 🙂

Always a pleasant experience and lovely friendly staff.

A group of us went to treat a friend who has recently had knee surgery. And we was not disappointed we got the turkey and stuffing sandwiches and they were gorgeous our friend got the panini version and she wasn’t disappointed. The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was gorgeous as was the strawberry milk shakes and the dessert cakes. The staff were very efficient and lovley I’m glad I pre booked a table as it is very popular. It’s a lovley little place with a great ambiance and all of us was very happy with everything and will definitely return. There was even a very rude customer and the staff was so professional in dealing with the matter even when said customer was stood outside telling people not to come in. Really disgusting behaviour!! That said the reviews and the staff speak volumes how lovley this little gem is in acomb

This was the worst hour and a half of my life 3 of us went for what was supposed to be a joint birthday meal We all ordered jacket potatoes 2 were still hard in the middle and sent back they tried second time around but were told 15 mins later they still could not get the potatoes soft in the middle The 2 were offered a panini they both chose one and what arrived was anything but a panini My mum refused it and they tried to get her to pay for the potatoe that had one bite out of and sent back and a dry flat bread that was surely not a panini It was 20 mins waiting to be served even for drinks total 3 very unsatisfied customers will never go again

After coming here regularly just when u think it Carnt get better it does What ever time you come there is something for you whether it’s breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea ,but now there is a bigger menu for hot meals and a chilled cabinet having huge vanilla slices,apple pie ,quiches on top of the usual fantastic scones and cakes And finally a mention needs to be made for the staff who are outstanding And not forgetting u can take your dog in

beautiful location and delicious range of food. We had fruit scone with jam and clotted cream Delicious!! Card machine wasn't working when we were there so was cash only. (Good for our pocket and our waist line though 😀 )

A friend and I, plus my two terriers, dropped in for an impromptu brunch: a sausage sandwich and a veggie roll (mushrooms, egg, tomato and a hash brown). The food was lovely, the coffee was good, the service was just fine. Would definitely recommend, worth booking in advance 'though as the cafe was very busy. We were lucky and got a table which wasn't reserved until a bit later.

Excellent lunch here today. We had sandwiches and a cup of tea. Sandwiches were great, with plenty of filling and came with lots of salad, crisps and a small pot of creamy coleslaw. Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. Hope to be back to sample their cakes at some time which looked delicious.

Not for first time we chose the Tea on the green as the venue for our family Christmas bash and all I can say is that the whole experience is superb. A massive thank you to Debbie, Kim and Zoe for looking after us. The food that you provided was absolutely superb and I really can't wait till I get the chance to visit you again. Debbie from Tea on the Green catered for 60 people this week at my late Mother's memorial. It was absolutely superb! She provided Afternoon tea and the food and service were incredible. Homemade delicious pastries, scones, sandwiches and sweet treats. All of the guests went for seconds and thirds and everybody kept asking me where I had found this amazing caterer! It was, in fact by fluke! I found her on Google and I am so glad I did. I will now be visiting Tea On The Green in Acomb on a regular basis as I know what delights they serve up! I had lots to think about that day and dealing with Debbie from start to finish was an absolute delight. She took care of everything. Came in an hour before and by the time the memorial service had finished, we went through into the hall to find a beautiful display of Afternoon tea, vintage china and Debbie and her lovely assistant serving everybody with a smile. Afterwards, they cleaned everything away as if they'd never been there! I can't decide if it was all a fabulous dream or does this incredible caterer really exist!! Thank you Debbie, I am trying to think what I can celebrate so I can use your services again!! My mouth is still watering, thinking of the lemon drizzle.

I was treated to afternoon tea for my birthday by my friend mid-August and subsequently visited again for lunch with a friend and her children. The afternoon tea was fabulous and beautifully presented. So nice to have quiche, sausage rolls and spring rolls in addition to sandwiches for the savoury selection. The sweet selection (scones, cake etc) was equally lovely and we had to take a doggy bag home with us! Everything seemed to be homemade and I would highly recommend for a special treat. When I returned for lunch, we all had paninis ... full marks from both adults and children! I will be returning soon! x

It’s a pity u can only give 5• because it deserves more We regularly come here for a drink and a cake to take away U always get a warm welcome the staff are really nice and friendly the food is really good then we get to the sweet treats The scones are the best I have tasted and always a good selection of cakes and the bonus for us is it dog friendly They have extended the outdoor seating which is so nice in this warm weather

We recently booked this venue for a celebration big birthday, and when we arrived the place was really busy, so my advice would be to book ahead to ensure your table. It was decided to book afternoon T and were delighted with the towering cake stands filled with a choice of savouries which included sandwiches (4 triangles) , a small quiche, bite size sausage rolls, per person. The next layer was for homemade cakes including a choice of buns, and tray bake, and macrons, grapes and strawberries featured between the sweet layers. The crowning glory delicious light as a feather scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. After dinner foil wrapped mints were enjoyed with plenty of T or coffee served throughout by attentive staff rounded off this delicious loveliness. I am gluten free which was not a problem the only thing I would have liked was the addition of a macron as these are gf but I must say the scone made up for it the best I have ever eaten, compliments to the maker!! Afternoon T was £17.95 per person and we really enjoyed ourselves our thanks to the ladies for making it so special and look forward to calling in real soon.

We had the most wonderful couple of hours here with family to celebrate my daughter’s graduation. The food was delicious and the attention we received was exceptional. Debbie catered for everyone including the children present and a guest with a dairy intolerance. I can’t recommend this venue highly enough. We all felt very welcome and we all hope to be able to visit again very soon. Thank you so much Debbie and team. It was a lovely way to round off the day

Staff very helpful and friendly

Have been meaning to try this little cafe for quite a while and so pleased I went today. Only had a snack of coffee and a cheese scone and it was superb. The waitress gave me choice of 3 different cheese scones and I chose one with olives and roast tomatoes, it was so fresh and a good size. I would say the best cheese scone I have had in a long time and told the waitress (owner?). She said she had got up at 6 to bake them. The cafe had a steady stream of people coming in and out both to sit in to Eat and to pick up items to take home. Great place, great staff and great food. I will be back. Thank you. Xx

To long wait for food ended up leaving before food was being cooked and we were the first people in they need to learn what preparation means please give it a wide berth .

Our favourite tea room, always a friendly atmosphere, always top quality freshly prepared food with lovely quality ingredients. It's a smashing little tearoom, very very popular and generally always full which is recommendation enough for us. Highly rated in our book.

This little tea room makes the most delicious food but I have to say the scones are the best I've ever had any where! Always fresh & a decent size, they do different flavours each day, looking forward to their Christmas Scones ... devine

Cheerful, chirpy service with a smile. Friendly and hospitable. Outdoor seating at the front, where doglets are welcome. (Also at one table inside) Most of the bakes n cakes, soups and dishes are homemade on the premises. Reasonable prices and good food, what more can you ask for? I'll be back and would happily recommend.

Excellent afternoon tea great staff

We came in for lunch a few weeks ago having seen recommendations from Facebook. A friend and I had the ‘Tea on the Green’ (£8.95) which consisted of a sandwich (any choice), salad, crisps and scone (any choice) with jam and clotted cream. It was delicious! We saw a notice about their tapas evenings as made enquiries. They were about to start these evenings the following week. As we had a lovely experience, we booked in for the tapas evening. The weather was very warm on the Friday evening of our meal and we chosen to sit outside. It was like being on holiday with the warm sun in the background! We brought our own alcoholic drinks and we’re promptly asked by one of the team if we wanted glasses. We also perused the menu and without too much thinking, picked the full tapas menu (£22.95pp). The food came in stages which was great as you could spread out all the eating!! It was delicious and fresh, and had plenty to eat!! The staff were attentive and friendly. We also managed some puddings which again were delicious! Later on they brought us baklavas which were fabulous! A lovely end to a fantastic meal!! It was such a lovely experience that we will definitely be back again!! The staff were great! It’s in a convenient location and the setting was just right!! By the way, you could also purchase alcoholic drinks from the bar next door too! Great collaboration!!

When nearby I always call in for takeaway scones they are homemade and fantastic ,today I had my mum with me so we took a table and ordered tea and seeing no fruit scones left we had cherry Bakewell this was fantastic too and also...

Amazing valentine's treat box delivered by the lovely Julia! Our selection included brownies, victora sponge and lemon drizzle. Absolutely heavenly! Incredible cakes and very reasonable priced. Good coffees at a reasonable price. Millionaire shortbread and cookies are very good. Very friendly owner. Ordered takeaway which is cheaper than drinking in but owner was happy for us to sit on outside tables as my newborn started having a melt down.

Friendly and welcoming, staff were very nice. They have a lovely selection of cakes from the usual carrot and chocolate to a delicious blackforest gateau and some very nice cannoli. They have pies and quiche too which I didn't try. In the evening they serve tapas. The cafe was only open for takeaway on Saturday but they are hoping to open fully again soon. Looking forward to returning.

We visited yesterday evening for tapas. One of the best tapas we’ve ever had from the taster menu; great selection & so tasty. Not heavily oil or garlic based with the perfect combination of ingredients. Great value & service too!

Wonderful tapas evening, great atmosphere and food including gluten free and veggie options. Service was excellent and we could bring our own wine.

A small but well run cafe that produces a good breakfast and quiches etc as well as cakes and standard drinks. Lovely mixed crockery and a warm welcome awaits. Music a little loud for our liking but more than made up for by the lovely fresh cooked food. Can be busy which makes for a bit of a squeeze but all very relaxed and friendly. Does tapas on a Friday and Saturday evenings which we will try shortly. Imagine their outside catering is excellent as home cooked and imaginative eg the types of quiche produced

I have walked past this cafe on many occasions and wanted to try it. Sadly it didn’t live up to my expectations. We had a spare hour to have a drink, by the time it arrived we had to neck it down fast (not easy with a pot of tea) so that we left on time. It wasn’t really busy, but clearly the staff were feeling that it was as we were treated more as an inconvenience. Sad, as I had looked forward to going.

Hace poco llamé para un té temprano con mi esposa, comí sopa y un sándwich, mi media naranja mejor tenía una chaqueta de papa. la sopa estaba hirviendo directamente del microondas, odio pensar si un niño la estaba comiendo, también tuvimos una larga espera para las comidas, pero todo lo demás estaba bien. Siendo un par de pensionistas, realmente disfrutamos de la música de los años sesenta. Volveremos a llamar.
