Amazing kebabs and great pizzas. I’ve had everything on the menu over the years. They guys at this place are consistently great. Best takeaway in York from pizzas, to burgers to kebabs they do everything great. Staff are friendly and give great service. If anything goes wrong they immediately send out a replacement no questions asked

Popped in for a quick lunch, overall nice food and the staff whilst appearing overworked were friendly. Vegan and gluten free pizza and dough balls were lovely, disappointing however that they had no vegan garlic butter whatsoever and the desert menu was lacking in options.

What a great find … lovely welcome & great atmosphere… there was an acoustic cover artist entertaining- Jay-Jay Luckman … deserves a mention thoroughly enjoyable The food looked & smelled delicious but unfortunately we’d already eaten but will definitely return to sample Overall a great couple of hours spent in a lovely old pub

Steak and ale pie - think the stewed steak had been cooked a few days prior and had just been warmed up, certainly was not fresh. We left a lot on our plates. Nobody came to ask if everything was ok and, in spite of the place being quiet, nobody had the courtesy to say “thank you and goodbye”. No atmosphere whatsoever, like a morgue.

The best Sunday Roast in York, the beef was served pink, tender and flavoursome with fresh vegetables, cauliflower cheese, crispy potatoes and a proper Yorkshire pudding drizzled with delicious gravy! We finished off with a chocolate sponge. Thank you to the team at Kennedys for great food & service, we will be back next Sunday!

Ordered the BBQ Chicken which was wrapped in streaky bacon, smothered in beer cheese with crispy onions served with vine tomatoes, chips and onion rings also had a pint of Theakston's Old Perculier. What can I say about the establishment: A warm welcome awaits, staff are friendly, polite and very attentive. Atmosphere in the pub was inviting with low music playing which is not intrusive if you are trying to enjoy a conversation with friends. Golf was playing on the TV (no sound) therefore a nice addition if you are a sports fan. The food was fabulous and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this establishment and you will not be disappointed with either the warm welcome, atmosphere, food or drinks on offer.
