Extremely friendly welcome with delicious homemade cakes baked by Mandy (the apple cake was scrumptious). Parking readily available and away from the busy high street. Good washrooms with easy access for visitors. Very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers run the station.

Just an outstanding place to stay! The owners think of everything and nothing is too much trouble. Luxurious yet affordable...

We dropped in after scouring the railway vintage memorabilia shop for a coffee and cakes. A very warm welcome from the staff and from the wonderful coal fire. We enjoyed the railway theme of the cafe and they have various Wensleydale Railway items for sale, such as beer and engraved glass packs. The home baking was excellent and the coffee hot and flavoursome. A good selection of snacks. It's the sort of place where everyone is relaxed and conversations with other customers start. Great to see and hear the trains going by. Seats on the platform if you want to get closer to the action.

We stayed at the Wensleydale Heifer last night on our way back from Cumbria, As with many times before, we received a very warm welcome by all the staff, a fantastic meal, wonderful night's sleep and excellent breakfast! Always want to return again and again. Big Thanks to you all.

Only ever been into the bar which is proper old school, cash only, limited opening hours but serves quality beers. Big shout out to Kath, who continues to run the place following the death of John. Definitely be back when next in the area with our 2 dogs.

Highly rated and rightly so. Quiet on a Friday lunch time but what a lovely lunch served by Mandy with photo of us taken by the chef! Great ale by Wensleydale Brewery (a highlight of this trip in many locations!) as an aperitif followed by stunning lamb, and two starters as a main soufflé and fishcakes. All 3 were really good. Then the rhubarb crumble and the rhubarb dessert - both with Yorkshire rhubarb at its best. Good wine by the glass and great coffee to finish with a nice little in house made chocolate cornflake bite on the side! Nice , clean and tidy posh cafe. There's a wide menu available and you find yourself seated in a large and airy room. It's a really pleasant spot with friendly service.

Great tasting coffee and hot chocolate apparently was too! Everything looked good just sorry we didn't have time to try the cakes this time. Quiet, light, spacious little tea rooms with pleasant views of historic Leyburn.

Great stay there on Friday night. Great old building. The breakfast was amazing. The location is perfect and the car park is just opposite

Very expensive for what we would usually get for £20 cost us £60, forgot to include the garlic nans and after going back they still tasted very plain. Curry was nice but again really small portion of chips and onions bhajis.

Sad state of affair. Proprietor was miserable. Booked through booking.com, owner moaned that we hadn’t paid enough for the room. Room was below par considering they want £90 per person. Bed uncomfortable and old, sink leaked water, no heating. Avoid this place!

Great location. Shown to our rooms outside the pub. It was cold weather and room freezing. Not a great first impression. Knowing we were staying, a bit of heat would have been more welcoming. Heater in bathroom didn’t work in ours or our friend’s room and their shower wasn’t working. We didn’t try ours, too cold. Food good pub grub. Some staff lovely but those in the pub when we arrived to check in, not so warm. West Burton lovely location.
