We stayed at the Wensleydale Heifer last night on our way back from Cumbria, As with many times before, we received a very warm welcome by all the staff, a fantastic meal, wonderful night's sleep and excellent breakfast! Always want to return again and again. Big Thanks to you all.

Highly rated and rightly so. Quiet on a Friday lunch time but what a lovely lunch served by Mandy with photo of us taken by the chef! Great ale by Wensleydale Brewery (a highlight of this trip in many locations!) as an aperitif followed by stunning lamb, and two starters as a main soufflé and fishcakes. All 3 were really good. Then the rhubarb crumble and the rhubarb dessert - both with Yorkshire rhubarb at its best. Good wine by the glass and great coffee to finish with a nice little in house made chocolate cornflake bite on the side! Cannot wait to go back and thanks for make our post Leyburn Circular walk lunch such a memorable Experience.

Sad state of affair. Proprietor was miserable. Booked through booking.com, owner moaned that we hadn’t paid enough for the room. Room was below par considering they want £90 per person. Bed uncomfortable and old, sink leaked water, no heating. Avoid this place!

We only wanted hot drinks on a cold bank holiday Sunday on our way to the Forbidden Corner. Having left another cafe on the opposite side of the road due to a rude waitress we were pleased to find a table in this light, airy cafe. The service was a little slow but it was a busy bank holiday. We had no complaints and other people’s food looked very appetising.

The welcome we received and the food we ate were fantastic. We love going to The Bolton Arms and are always made to feel at home. We tried the Sunday Carvery which has recently been added to the menu and it’s superb. There is so much choice and the lamb I had was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you to Becky, Jack and all your lovely staff

Our first trip to Leyburn ruined by this cafe experience. Went with my you family. You need a pin to go the dingy toilet, there are signs everywhere telling you not to do something, it says it’s dog friendly but it definitely is not children friendly, the menu is overpriced, the staff are rude, it is called a cafe and does not act as a cafe, the old male waiter needs to be let go as he makes unkind comments that make you feel uncomfortable. I only stayed as we were very hungry, but really should’ve walked out and got a meal deal from the co-op. I will not be returning and urge all to not bother in the first place. I am surprised that it is even open.
