Was here with party of 6 Saturday night. Absolutely wonderful food and some different options ie venison. I had the monkfish and it was fantastic. Brilliant service. They bagged stuff up we hadn't managed to eat (over ordered) would def recommend and hope we can go again.

Fantastic service and food, everything was full of flavour and not oily. They let dogs in downstairs and made some plain chicken chunks so zuko(the dog) could enjoy a meal out with us too.

The food was very tasty & lots of choice. Four of us had different options & we all enjoyed it BUT as mentioned in a previous post the menu has no prices. We rang through the order & purposely asked how much, as we would get cash out & were advised no more than £60. On arriving at the restaurant to collect the food the bill was £90! The food was delicious but this is a very odd way to do business, so if you are going to use this restaurant either ask for a specific price or be prepared to pay premium prices.

Absolutely beautiful food and NEVER disappoints!! Highly recommend! Staff are friendly, helpful and pleasant. All in all a lovely culinary experience.

Got a take away. Used online menu to choose, good selection of choice No price quoted tho. No price given when on the phone ordering. 10 minutes wait when collecting, place was very busy, still no signs of any prices. Food arrived at the counter and we are asked if paying cash for a 10% discount before we are told what the cost is. Overall the food was great the service is good as for atmosphere, I don't know. Just weird not knowing what it's going to cost before getting it

Brilliant meal here. Room for dogs downstairs means it's great for tourists passing through. The staff were lovely and really welcoming. The front of house was very chatty and a great laugh. Thoroughly enjoyed our food too, every meal and starter was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Great food, great service and dog friendly

Came here with my friends on a trip to the dales and I had to to show them the amazing authentic food saffron offers. Also the customer service was spot on like always,with prices of the food and drinks being reasonable. My friends were very impressed with the variety of dishes available e.g goat,venison and pheasant as not many Indian restaurants offer this.

This is our third visit and everytime we come to the Yorkshire dales we make a point to go to saffron because of thier authentic food,great customer service and the reasonable prices. Thank you to team saffron for making our evening great.

On the 10th July I got just a chicken vindaloo takeaway, and it was safe to say it was the worst curry I've ever tasted. Then when he said £11 I nearly fell through the floor, that was with a 10% discount. The curry tasted like it was just made with powders nothing fresh. I will never go there agian. I'm looking forward to your reply, because I've read the other reviews and all the negative reviews you have answered with the wrong attitude.

We have been coming to Saffron for years. However, now they are under new hands, but still from Bradford. Very pleased to say better than ever. Very varied meals and much more imagination than most Indians. If in doubt, I have Chicken Jalfrezi, chilli Nan and mushroom pilau. I like this madras hot but my wife can not do chilli but they cope with both of us perfectly. Just superb. Really nice guys as well. They come from Bradford every day, real troupers! I need an Indian on my doorstep and this ticks all the boxes, thanks and carry on. Mike

We were looking for alternatives to pub food and were pleased to find Saffron. We started with onion bhaji which were crunchy and delicious- very fresh. We also enjoyed the Punjabi with chicken, a side serve of Dahl, rice and garlic naan. A good meal with good quality food.

Whenever I go somewhere on holiday I always worry about having am Indian meal as usually in tourist areas the Indian restaurant foods aren't authentic but my trip to the yourkshire dales we came across saffron in leyburn where the food tasted authentic and service was excellent. The prices were reasonable due to Cost of living.

Rang up for a takeaway. They wouldn't tell us a price on the phone. When it came they wanted £80 for 4 meals! Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious, but £80? Ridiculous!

Came on recommendation and loved our evening. Great water service too. Thankyou Saffron and we will definitely return soon.

Just had a fab meal at the Saffron in Leyburn. Wow, what a great curry! Good sized portions and really tasty. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. They even allowed us to bring our dog in as long as we ate in the downstairs restaurant. Was a bit sceptical after reading some of the reviews, but needn't have worried. We had a lively meal. I come from West Yorkshire, so I know a thing or two about a good curry and this place dishes up a good curry. Thanks to Kalam for making our visit special.

First time dining in but have previously enjoyed a takeaway. Food was delicious,service was friendly and they even have dog friendly tables on the ground floor.

I don’t know what all the bad reviews are all about my self and my husband had a wonderful meal this evening the food was exceptional and the service and friendly staff go out of their way to advise and help with your choice.will definitely be back again when in the area the meal was worth every penny.

Just finished a lovely takeaway from Saffron. Can't fault the food, it was very good. Four of us give Saffron a big thumbs up. Delicious food in fact. Quite a few dishes on the menus we have not seen before which is always good to see. Another plus is the portion size which is bigger than we would get local to home. Some complaints in reviews here about price but we all thought it very good value for money especially considering how much we all enjoyed our meal.

Went yesterday Have been many times in past and food and service have always been excellent Now has new owner Him and staff very ignorant and unprofessional Even practically throwing food over table and no apology and had to clean it up ourselves Did not carer for gluten free as stated when initially booked Food second class and very expensive slightly hot dish blew the head off one of our party and was inedible.while balti was also way too hot Owners explanation was that everyone's idea of hot can be different what a load of rubbish!! We should be connoisseurs given the number of establishments we have used as we love curries and have them regularly Suggest a new chef might be needed Will never go again and definitely would not recommend to anyone else. As to your reply Well just goes to show how rude and ignorant you are and perhaps you are in the wrong industry as you obviously have no professioal integrity at all. This indian restaurant is a hidden gem in the dales i wish i lived near by would visit every week there menu is very different to any other indian restaurant that i have been to and i have been having indian for almost 40 year's there offer goat, venison,pheasant, monkfish, sea-bass which i have never seen on a indian menu i had the koshee bhuna which is a slow cooked goat meat infused with mustard it was out off this world very very nice the price are little on high side but it is understandable for the cost of living and gas and eletric prices has 3 times gone up if your in the area please do visit you wont be disappointed

Authentic indian restaurant and takeaway in Leyburn market place. Quiet when we ate at 5:30, but surprisingly spacious in the upstairs restaurant. Rather strangely the restaurant offered 10% discount if we paid for the bill in cash, although it's hard to tjink of any legitimate reason for this.

Forced One Main Course per Person Policy Ruined Holiday experience to Yorkshire Recently, my friends and I went to dine at a restaurant where we ordered 4 starters and 2 main dishes initially. But this restaurant had an utterly frustrating policy of forcing each person to order at least one main course, and it turned out to be a terrible experience. This policy was not only inconvenient but also felt like an unnecessary imposition on our dining choices. Here's why this forced one main course per person policy was the worst part of our dining experience. We did check with the restaurant staff by seeing the rule in the menu card and their staff itself was of no clue on this rules. Waste of Food: The restaurant's policy of forcing each person to order a main course will result in a tremendous waste of food. Some members of our group had smaller appetites and did not want to order a main course, but they were forced to do so. As a result, there will be uneaten dishes left on the table, which was not only wasteful but also environmentally irresponsible. Unwanted Expenses: The forced one main course per person policy will also result in unwanted expenses. Some of us did not want to order a main course due to personal preferences, dietary restrictions, or simply not being hungry enough. However, we were still forced to order a main course, which has forced us to leave the restaurant with hunger. Limited Flexibility: The policy of forcing each person to order a main course also limited our flexibility in ordering from the menu. We were not able to order according to our preferences or dietary needs. It felt like our choices were restricted, and we were not able to fully enjoy the dining experience. It also created confusion and hassle in coordinating our orders to comply with the policy, which detracted from our ability to relax and enjoy our meal. Unwanted Pressure: The forced one main course per person policy created unwanted pressure on some members of our group. For those with smaller appetites or dietary restrictions, it felt uncomfortable to be forced to order a main course when they did not want to. It created an awkward situation and made some of us feel uncomfortable and finally have to leave the restaurant without ordering anything. Overall Experience: The forced one main course per person policy at this restaurant was a major inconvenience which has led us to move out of the restaurant even we are ready to order to starters/desserts/drinks.

Dear owner , I expect you should show some professionalism and maintain some ethics to the customers visiting your restaurant as well as the comments/review you are getting from customers . I’m from the group of 7 who visited the restaurant on 10th April . My friend asked one of your colleagues about the two points you have mentioned in the back of the menu card and your guy told us both points applicable for people only paying cash . While we started ordering the dishes you mentioned that we have to order one main dish per person and we don’t want to order too much and waste it at the end , so we left the restaurant. Your colleague itself is naive about your restaurant policies. We just don’t want someone else to go through the same thing after visiting your restaurant . So we thought it’s our right to comment/review about the restaurant, if you don’t like anyone to put a comment/review please don’t keep your restaurant name in the internet . As a restaurant owner you should accept both appreciation and criticism. Hope you will understand hereafter .

Visited this restaurant with my partner. I have ordered chicken curry and the taste is Awful. Prices seem to be on the higher side and there is no comparison of food taste to the price. Staff doesn’t seem to care about the customer feedback. I am just seeing the management replies to the customer reviews and it seems they are very arrogant and they doesn’t care customers opinion either. Definitely Will not recommend to anyone.

The main course of Chicken Dupiaza and the side dish of Saag Paneer was really bland, awful. I'm not sure how a chef can manage to cook a curry which was so tasteless. Will definitely not be returning. The restaurant seems to be getting good reviews so perhaps when I went, there may have been a different chef. Worst curry I've ever eaten and really expensive.

Before visiting there are 2 conditions 1. U get a 10% discount when u pay by cash. 2. You need to order atleast 1 main dish per person. This restaurant has absolutely zero hospitality, we are 3 families visited for dine-in today, and the condition for the dine-in are to order atleast one main dish per person which is not fair. It is our wish to decide what to order and how much to order. So we are total 7 in number so we will have to order 7 main dishes which in not at all fair. So before ordering we called the waiter and asked him about the conditions, he told that the above conditions apply only when u pay by cash, but later when we spoke to the manager he told that 2nd condition is a must.

I used to really love this place and the new owners are very friendly and kind, but unfortunately it's just too expensive now. For two people for poppadoms, main meal each, 2 beers and a J20 it was £72 to eat in. There is 10% off if paying cash but even £65 is too expensive. We used to fairly regularly get takeaways but I picked up a new menu and even the take away price has added an extra £3 per meal which is just too much. So although the food and people are nice we just can't afford to pay that kind of money for a meal now.

Ordered a takeaway on Saturday Night,I was expecting it to be around £50! The bill came to £82!!!! The prices on the website are totally different to what’s on the paper menu(given in the Indian). Although the food was lovely I won’t be back at those prices sorry
