Had a lovely dinner with family, the staff were nice and the food was very good! Definitely recommend for a nice meal out overlooking the centre of Leyburn.

Took some visiting family for a meal at Saffron. Chose a variety of starters and mains between us and everyone commented how delicious the various dishes were and how generous the portions were. Service was very attentive and friendly and welcoming.

We’d walked all day and were starved. So happy to have this hardy, healthy, warm, satisfying meal! Just the right spice, too. Really top notch.

Dining upstairs as a solo guest. Food was ok just under £40 for a main, bread and beer on a Thursday night before 6 was steep in my opinion and I work in London! There is some offer on but clearly they didn’t apply to my bill and I could be bothered to chase it as customers shouldn’t have too.

Probably one of the worst Indian restaurants I have visited. The carpet on the floor was old snd worn and looked very dirty. The drinks menu was ridiculously expensive which should have alerted me . The menu was so difficult to understand for pricing and again when understood were ridiculous prices compared to most other Indian restaurants I have used . The main meal was average and far too hot , the side dish very bland , the Nan bread very poor ,thin and unappetising and the rice just ok. I would not use this restaurant again. Without the early bird discount I would have been very upset.

Ordered food. Food was okay. Four mains ordered. Two rice, two naans, pickle tray and two chips. £85 with the 10% discount. As many have seemed to have said. No prices on the menu. I don’t mind supporting local businesses but this price is ridiculous. Actually upset at this.

Placed a takeaway order in the restaurant consisting of 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 nann breads. Guy behind the counter asked whether I’d be paying in cash as he could offer a10% discount, which I confirmed . Said it would be ready in 40 mins so if I wanted a pint across the road it would be no problem. Said he would “work out the price “ and let me know when I returned to pick up. Returned 40 mins later to collect and was charged over £27 per meal per person. Absolute rip off. No prices on the website and they don’t tell you the cost when you order. Avoid at all costs!!

The food was very nice and authentic. But we were shocked at the price. Way way over priced and portions very small. Bit tatty inside. Such a shame.

We drove from a nearby village hoping for a nice meal. When we got there we saw the take away menu only had prices for half the dishes. This should have been a red flag. We noticed that the meals are 50% more expensive than any other Indian restaurants nearby. We thought it may be an indication of great quality food. How wrong we were. Our order when we got home wasn't what we asked for and was bland. The peshawari naan was dry with a scraping of filling and the mains tasteless with fatty lamb and tasteless curries. So very disappointed for £18.95 for a main. No wonder the reviews aren't very good because the price to product ratio is severely lacking.

The food was nice and the service good. However there were no prices on the menu and we felt that we got led astray by the 10 percent discount if paid in cash and were quite taken aback at the overall cost even with the discount. We did not have any alcohol only a lemonade and a sparkling water and each curry was £15.50 without the rice which we found very expensive . We have been before but now feel the prices are too high and not good value for money.

Called ahead for a table at 9.30pm Friday, arrived and told to go upstairs, first the carpet is filthy, not the best start. Only 2 people in restaurant (9.30pm Friday) We were seated for 10 minute before we were asked for any drinks, we asked for a beer and a small soda. We were told cash is good for a discount!. A futher 10 more minutes later the waiter gave us the menu, prices were not easy to understand, the prices are not displayed. I asked twice to explain the price system, waiter was rude probably because I ask him to explain the system. A simple veg stater, chicken madras and rice. £27 each! Pickle tray was £5! We decided it was not for us, understand why they give you drinks before the menu. The waiter said if i paid cash for my beer, he could discount price for my 1 beer and 1/2 soda water to £10. This is the worst place in North Yorkshire, some award. Don't believe any prior rating, nobody goes. We live in the nearby village of Bedale, we collected at my local Indian in Bedale, two meals for £28.

Nice place in a nice quiet village. 5 stars are always reserved for places that are perfect in every way. In a restaurant, friendly staff is important, so I would ask the man upstairs to be a little more ‘nice’.

The restaurant was a lovely location & clean, however all the starters on the menu don’t have prices. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water and it was a warm plastic bottle, when I asked it I could have a cold bottle he said no! Starters were nice, rice good, nann good but the mains were bland, I asked for the bill and he said pay downstairs, we went to pay and he said pay cash and I will discount 10 pwrcent, we had no cash so then he said leave a 5 star review and I will discount! We left our review but he could have made any price up because of the menu having no starter prices! Would not return

We had a really great curry here. Order taken swiftly with friendly service. One curry was adapted to our taste and arrived promptly & piping hot. It was great to be able to have our little dog with us, never before in a curry house. Thank you for a lovely meal .

On Sunday evening I rang up and ordered a takeout. A Doner kebab on a naan, 2x poppadums with the pickle tray drips and a portion of onion bahjis. Online there are no prices aside from the new fast food. So the Doner Kebab was £6.95 on its own. I asked how much the takeout would be in total and it was £14 so I was prepared for the price. When I went to collect, I paid the £14 and once I had left, I realised there were no onion bahjis- so went straight back in. Apparently whoever had taken my order hadn’t heard me ask for the bahjis, which I fully understand these kind of things happen. So I queried the price- £14 for the £6.95 kebab and the 2 poppadums and pickle tray sauces - this would have made it £7.05 which didn’t seem right. The chap serving me asked another chap how he had come to the amount of. He quickly did a calculation on his calculator which came to £13.85! I honestly think they just charge whatever they want. Which is such a shame. There needs to be correct prices on the menu and yes inflation and price increases happen. But yearly - not just when they feel like it! Such a shame as I often eat in at saffron with friends regularly. Not great getting ripped off for a takeout! The food is delicious, but the pricing seems to be an issue and really needs sorting. Especially for the winter period when they will be relying on local trade.

Went to this restaurant as it offers a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Waited 50minutes for our food to arrive. It was an acceptable meal but not special. Rather expensive compared to the food we normally eat at our local restaurant. Disappointed.

Food was very bland and over priced. Keema naan had just dots of meet everywhere not consistent like a normal naan, was very annoyed having it being £4.95. Prices expensive as well, especially £7 a bottle of beer

Very dissatisfied with our experience here tonight, as a group of five who dine here regularly we were extremely disappointed . Firstly we had to ask for menu's. Very long delay to order our food, when it arrived one of the party was missing her main course, which finally arrived, in the mean time everyone else's food was getting cold while she waited, another member was missing her rice, then we were told she didn't order it when she clearly did. No offer to rectify this. When we came to pay we were denied the buy one get one fee offer, which we have taken advantage of numerous times before, this has always been out favourite Indian restaurant, we certainly will not be rushing back after tonight.

Was here with party of 6 Saturday night. Absolutely wonderful food and some different options ie venison. I had the monkfish and it was fantastic. Brilliant service. They bagged stuff up we hadn't managed to eat (over ordered) would def recommend and hope we can go again.

Fantastic service and food, everything was full of flavour and not oily. They let dogs in downstairs and made some plain chicken chunks so zuko(the dog) could enjoy a meal out with us too.

The food was very tasty & lots of choice. Four of us had different options & we all enjoyed it BUT as mentioned in a previous post the menu has no prices. We rang through the order & purposely asked how much, as we would get cash out & were advised no more than £60. On arriving at the restaurant to collect the food the bill was £90! The food was delicious but this is a very odd way to do business, so if you are going to use this restaurant either ask for a specific price or be prepared to pay premium prices.

Absolutely beautiful food and NEVER disappoints!! Highly recommend! Staff are friendly, helpful and pleasant. All in all a lovely culinary experience.

This is our third visit and everytime we come to the Yorkshire dales we make a point to go to saffron because of thier authentic food,great customer service and the reasonable prices. Thank you to team saffron for making our evening great.

Came here with my friends on a trip to the dales and I had to to show them the amazing authentic food saffron offers. Also the customer service was spot on like always,with prices of the food and drinks being reasonable. My friends were very impressed with the variety of dishes available e.g goat,venison and pheasant as not many Indian restaurants offer this.
