Brilliant Indian restaurant with amazing food and lovely staff. Made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was bloody lovely too. I had the garlic chilli chicken and I didn’t regret my choice.

What an amazing experience! Friendly and helpful service, we needed dairy free dishes and nothing was too much trouble. A great selection for everyone. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

We went here for dinner tonight the pickle tray was amazing, and so were all our main dishes . Dinner was amazing and at paying the bill gave us a rose very sweet touch.

This is a hidden gem that from the outside doesn’t really let the secret out of what is to. come. An unassuming place from the outside. Inside the restaurant you are met with friendliness and a spotless and very clean restaurant and service is carried out with a smile. The food was excellent and extremely tasty .A must try and you will not be disappointed

We stumbled across the Royal India when looking for somewhere that served tasty vegetarian food!! We asked inside first if they could cater for vegetarians and they could not have been more friendly and helpful. They immediately said they could do us any dish as a vegetarian option with paneer as this was our preference. They informed us that they do not serve alcohol, so we nipped to buy a bottle of wine and headed back. They had reserved us a lovely window table. The meal was excellent the best indian food we have eaten!! Such warm and accommodating people! We even went back the next evening! If we lived in Richmond this would definitely be our local!! Thank you for great service! Next time we are in town we will definitely be back!

We've been to this restaurant several times now and it's consistently good. All the staff are very helpful and pleasant, the orders are taken promptly and you don't wait long for your meal, which is hot and served nicely.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Richmond. It has a very nice view of the Richmond market square, especially if you sit in one of the window seats. It doesn't serve alcohol so take your own drinks or grab a bottle from Ken Warnes, just across the square. Nice decor. Food and service is always excellent.

Great place, staff very friendly and polite, food was great, a complimentary pudding was given and a rose for me which was a lovely touch.

I took a chance on something that sounded good and I have to say it was the best curry I've had in a long time. On a table of six we all had only good things to say about our choices. This is now our favourite curry house

Excellent curry, it was one of the best curries I have had. No Alcohol served but you can bring your own and there are no corkage charges. Staff really nice. Prices are reasonable and would definitely recommend!

My first visit and, although not a particularly lover of curries , I found the food delicious and was able to easily find a dish I enjoyed immensely. I had the Tropical Seafood, one of the restaurant's signature dishes, and for anyone who enjoys Seafood of any sort, I can thoroughly recommend it. The service was friendly and attentive and the fact that you can bring your own alcoholic beverages with you was a bonus. I would certainly recommend a visit and details can be found on TripAdvisor.

We've enjoyed some incredible Indian restaurants over the years, but the Royal India had absolutely fantastic service, and outstanding food. Probably the best we've ever tried. We'll definitely be back for more!

Absolutely beautiful night celebrating my Dads 70TH birthday. Food was amazing really tasty and even spiced up a tikka masala at request. To tip it off they provided a cake, beautiful, soft, and made with fresh cream. More than enough for 10 people plenty for a slice tomorrow. 10/10 added bonus you can take your own alcohol. X ❤️ 70th

Saw previous positive reviews of this restaurant and thought I’d give it a try. I was not disappointed the service and food was amazing would totally recommend. Firstly the staff were very friendly. Now the food: I went for the onion bhaji to start and was not disappointed would highly recommend. Finally the main I had a the chicken tikka jalfrezi. Definitely the best I’ve had in a long time.

The restuarant changed hands a while back and we stopped going as we believed they were closed on a Tuesday, which turned out not to be the case, We have now been 3 times and love it, the food is top notch and the staff and helpful and friendly, remember to take your own wine, there is no corkage charge

Had a fantastic meal at the Royal India. Pickle tray top notch with two types of onion. The mains were exceptional, not too much oil and really thick sauce. Keema rice nice and moist and really good naan. The staff were attentive but not too pushy. Do not serve alcohol but will let you bring your own. First time in Richmond but a trip to the Royal will be on the cards if I return

We love coming here. Staff are so welcoming and food is delicious. Caters for fans of medium spice to mild and furious! Veggie option always good. My mum asked for Aloo Gobi for a main, no problem. You can bring your own alcohol and no corkage charge, they provide glasses etc. Food taste really authentic and we always have a fab night out.

We are regulars here. Moved up from London a couple of years ago and craving a decent curry. Hit upon this lovely place and we come back often. Been as a couple, with friends and with family. We always get terrific, attentive service. Food is excellent. My mum recently ordered Aloo Gobi as a main and was delicious. I had Lamb Karhi beautiful and my partner had Chicken Passanda. We all ordered Persharwi naan and pilau rice too. Price is kept to a minimum as we bring our own alcohol. They provide glasses and no corkage charge. They always give us, complimentary dessert and a rose to take home. Perfect evening EVERY single time!

We have been coming here since it opened and have never been disappointed. The food is fantastic, dining in or take away, everything is delicious. All the staff are friendly and always make any visit a pleasure. With little touches that make all customers feel that little bit more specially treated. By far the best Indian restaurant in the area and possibly the best we have visited anywhere.

Lovely restaurant with great staff. The food was really nice. Me and my son got the Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife got the Chicken Korma which were all lovely but the cheese and garlic Naan was immense. Literally melted in your mouth. Highly recommend.

Visit royal india for my wifes 50th birthday food and service was excellent and to top everything off we were presented with a birthday cake to celebrate the occasion 5 STAR 🌟 superb restaurant.

What a fantastic experience from start to finish! A table of 6 of us dined here for my mother's birthday last night. We couldn't have been looked after any better. To top off a fabulous meal the lovely staff then surprised my mum with a beautiful homemade birthday cake. It absolutely made her night! Pre booked a table for twelve. Arrived on time and were shown to our seats. Started to order drinks only to be told it was a non alcohol establishment. I wasn’t told on booking, not the end of the world but it was to celebrate a birthday!! I can say the food was not The best I have had as far as Indians go and others in our group said the same. Was on just eat for delivery to where we were staying. Then went to unavailable gor delivery as we were making the order. Rang the restaurant and they said they would take our order in 10 mins. Rang back gave them all the details of our order for them to turn around and say they wouldn't deliver. No other places were available to eat with delivery and we dont drive. Waste of time and left us with no food.

A chance find whilst in Richmond for a couple of days. Definitely the best food I have eaten in a long time and fantastic service plus excellent value for money. Loved the added finess of hot towels, fruit and chocolate to finish off (long removed from my local restaurant) plus a lovely rose for me as we left. Charming and will definitely return when we come back.

Delivery took almost 2 hours, I called to find out where the order was and the person I spoke to was rude, blaming my distance on the lateness, I live 15 minutes away, no apology. The driver arrived 10-15 minutes later and was very apologetic. After waiting all this time they'd sent us a chicken dish instead of vegetable. We're vegan and do not allow meat in our house. Rather than offering a refund they demanded we send the dish back. Absolutely appalling service. It's a real shame because the food is delicious. But, they are discourteous. If you have any food allergies or food requirements, I would not recommend as they do not care.

A very friendly restaurant in Richmond, we have been on numerous occasions even on Christmas day and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. They do not serve alcohol but there is no corkage charge.

This is the best Indian food I’ve had! Not many people eat at the restaurant and instead order take out. They are missing out! The service is very good and you get a lot of attention since there are few other diners there. Again, food was amazing.

Out of quite a few Indian restuarants in the area, this impressed me with their level of service and their absolute quality when it came to the food. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Great takeaway and if you want to try something different I would recommend the Afghan Chicken Palak 😁. Food much improved but carpets need to be changed as they look a bit grotty but don’t let first impressions put you off!

This is right up there with the worst Indian food I’ve ever tasted. Ordered the King Prawn Tandoori and was left utterly disappointed. VERY LOW in quantity and extremely bland in flavour.

Pickle tray large and impressive looking , but other than the lime pickle then the array of sauces where of of little taste or note. Nan was quite dry, the keema rice very dry. Add to this both dishes, in our view, lacked sauce content....

By far the best Indian takeaway in this area.quality and taste superb. Recommend mixed grill tandoori and tropical seafood if u epwant something different. Little disappointed with portion quantity of vegetable vindaloo for the price but still very tasty.

Starters and pickle tray were lovely…although it took some time for our starter to arrive,(there was only one other party in?) when they did arrive they were really nice leading us to think the curry would be too…how wrong were we!! Both tasted similarly strange?? Even though we ordered different, one a chicken tikka bhuna and the other was a recommendation both tasted odd, burnt/charred? Can’t quite put my finger on it…not a patch on a good old Bradford curry

Absolutely beautiful food! So tasty and very generous portions. Moved here last year and we've finally found our 'go to' Indian. We collected our food and could see how busy the restaurant was but even this didn't stop ours being hot and full of flavour. The gentleman even helped us out to the car and gave us two beautiful roses. Fantastic restaurant, well done to you all

As you would expect. Good quality food.

Terrible curry. Chapattis were undercooked and rubbery - like dough. The chicken jalfrezi was not flavoured properly. Chill was good, but the base flavour was very poor. Perhaps down to a poor base sauce. Chicken was poor quality also. I could go on. Biriyanis just not right. Very bland. Poorly flavoured. Rice was mushy, hardly any chicken. Curry sauce was bland and mushy. All of this food tasted as if it had been pre-cooked, frozen and defrosted. Therefore mushy and no flavour. Should not be described as indian food. Should be terrible food with a hint of Indian spice. The whole order went in the bin and we had something else!! No refund offered us upon request. Might as well just put your money in the bin as far as I am concerned!!

Came back this week because last week the food was great. Sadly, this week wasn't the same. Bland food throughout with a slightly odd taste! A real shame, i wont be using this indian next Friday!

Would recommend excellent starter, poppadom and pickle tray these were 5 star, the main was good with the pesharwi nan being excellent. The service was very good, we received complimentary dessert which was very tasty. It’s bring your own alcohol which reflects your bill at the end. Good night out good value for money. £25 for starter, main, poppadoms, pickle tray rice and nan bread.

Best Indian takeaway we have had locally, really tasty.

Had a last minute dinner there just before they closed. Really accommodating, recommended something from the menu which was delicious and tweaked the spice to my taste. Even gave me a rose to give my wife while she was waiting outside as I paid. Highly recommended, thank you 👌

Delicious food and friendly service

One of the best Indian meals that I've had in over a decade! My partner & I recently visited Richmond, and stayed nearby and randomly popped into the Royal India for dinner on Friday night. Not quite sure what to expect, we quite simply blown away. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent - our waiters were very attentive. The food was phenomenal. Some of the best I've tasted. Loved the ample chutney selection! The peshwari naan was delicious! Would definitely make a trip if I was nearby again in the future!

Ordered at 6.20pm and food didnt arrive until 8.13pm. Food was ok, portions aren't huge and nann bread was very chewy.

Got Massala sauce and you might aswell get boiled rice and a tin of tomato soup , does not taste of massala at all !

This is the second time I have ordered from Royal India, again the food was lush and well worth the money. The delivery guy was spot on very friendly and actually called me by my name. The food was still hot when it arrived.

Five of us ate Christmas dinner here. What a great team served us: hospitable, accommodating, chatty, and efficient. It has no licence (but BYO seemed fine for those who wanted some alcohol). An extremely unhurried meal and the chance to chat with no pressure between courses. Highly commended.

Very good friendly service. BYO drinks. Tandoori mixed grill and king prawn biryani - all very good.
