Pheasant Inn & Caravan Park in Richmondshire

Stayed there in campervan in field at back of the inn who serve a good pint. Ideal location for sightseeing

Stayed two nights at the Pheasant inn, nice level pitches. Pleasant owner, good beer. And lovely local walks, waterfall very near, Leyburn town, walk the back way pass an old quarry that I guess feeds the waterfall, through the fields into town. Plenty of choice of places to eat.

A fabulous camp site and pub. Grounds well tended and pub spotless. Friendly atmosphere.

The camping / motorhome Parking area was well groomed and tidy but for £12 a night for no EHU and £18 with EHU was a bit overpriced when you consider only 1 toilet and 1 shower, for the complete camp, which takes £1 coins to have a quick shower and most of the time there was no toilet paper and never any hot water in the toilet. Overall, it was very disappointing.

Quaint pub with a lovely tidy campsite out the back. Only one basic toilet and shower. Lovely walk close by to a waterfall Pub is cash only and does not do food, but liquid refreshments and local hospitality is overflowing

Stayed nearby but will use this caravan park next time. Lovely lady and very reasonably priced.

We were intrigued just watching the sheep in the bottom field. We even named one sheep Steve McQueen as he kept getting up on the wall ie the great escape lol. Helpful on site. Beware 10amp.

AMAZING!! Wow what a brilliant place ,electric hook up, fantastic traditional old public house. Love it , great welcome ,lovely owners. Waterfalls 50 yards away , dog friendly , toilet, shower £18 per night. A gift ,overlooking the racehorse village of Middleham

Wonderfully friendly and welcoming traditional pub. Landlady talks to everyone not just the locals! Warm fire, cold beer, dogs welcome and No TV! Camping & caravaning on site and also C&MH club site behind. Going again as soon as I can.

An olde worlde style pub, that's like stepping back in time. Serves drinks and snacks only, no food menu, and the beer is well kept. Child and dog friendly too. It seems a lot of the clientele is from the pub's adjoining camp site, which we didn't use but would consider doing so. We liked it and will return.

Just returning from our fourth visit this year to this little gem of a site we absolutely love this site. No negative comments well run, great location and fantastic old fashioned pub with welcoming locals it's so good fifth visit booked in for next month !!!!!

Honestly, I wish I'd gone earlier in the night, it was a great atmosphere like a pub used to be! Everyone there friendly, honest and made it good fun, made a solo traveller feel very welcome. Can't thank you enough! Wouldn't hesitate to camp here and have another night of drinks. Cheers!

We recently stayed at the Lower Wensleydale site and called in for a couple of pints following a walk with the dogs. Very dog friendly and excellent well kept beer. Just a shame it shuts on the afternoon. We are planning on the same site again soon and I'll be calling in again. A very old fashioned pub. I can only mark it down because of the lack of food and cash only.

Seriously old-fashioned pub, mostly in a good way. Very much a local's place. No food. Cash only. Oddly doesn't open until 7pm in the evenings.

This pub is an amazing time capsule that never changes. I have visited Leyburn for almost 40 years with my parent's & now my wife & it's a total joy to call into The Pheasant. The same couple own & run it with the warmest of welcome's & ambience to match. From the open fire to the copper topped tables, they just don't make them like this anymore. ❤️

Proper old fashioned no frills pub. No food. Tea and coffee £1. Lovely couple run it and have done so for years. Just one real ale, Black Sheep , which isn't my favourite, but we'll worth the walk from Leyburn for the ambience. Always go when I visit Leyburn.

Wonderful old fashioned pub, full of characters. Cash only but well worth a walk into Leyburn to use the ATM. A gem.

Love this place , John n Kath lovely landlords and will do anything to help you .a proper traditional no frills pub , John n Kath sit behind the bar and chat , they've been in there over 50 yrs, lovely clean site with electric , shower/toilet ,all locals friendly and just a 15 min walk into leyburn

Dog friendly pub within walking distance of the caravan park. Very friendly owner, we're made to feel very welcome by all.

Just back from Leyburn I used the Pheasant for a 1 night stop off for our motorhome both myself and my wife loved this friendly place. The landlord John and Kath were so helpful and friendly and for £10 you won't do better. It's not the Savoy and it doesn't claim to be what it is however a great old fashioned friendly Inn (no food) with a small camping site attached about 1 mile outside Leyburn. We will be going back soon.

Very good to stop over we stopped2 nights and town about 10 / 15 minutes walk away

Great site the landlord and land lady could not do enough for you. Beer was excellent and cheap. Only downside was the guy doing the Saturday night quiz. In my view loud mouth and insulting to the customers.

What can I say, the caravan site is beautifully kept by the landlord of the onsite old fashioned pub. The landlord and landlady are behind the bar every hour the pub is open. It is a no frills site where people arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

Cheap n cheerful. Geared up for caravans, grassed level pitches. 1 WC and1 shower. Pub could do with a deep clean and repainting.

Traditional Inn with its own caravan and camping site.

Quiet, dog friendly. Not really for kids but ideal for adults wanting a quiet stay with a caravan/motorhome

The Pheasant is an Inn from the 1970s. It doesn't do food but it probably keeps the best beer for miles. If you want a country pub with no frills and no exotic drinks but good beer and whisky then this is the place for you, otherwise go a mile up the road to the pubs in leyburn

Fantastic little pub without the complications of food. The landlord can be a bit odd but the regulars are really friendly.

Pheasant in our favorite campsite. John and Cath are super hosts always lovely towards us who ride bikes. Site is lovely well kept and the pub on site is a bonus. Please be aware John and Cath keep horses and have to maintain the site so no meals in the pub and old closing times apply which I'm sure you can appreciate. The site is located in Harmby one mile out of Leyburn. Cross the road from the pub and walk down the path to a lovely waterfall in a secluded patch of woodland. Ideal stop over for touring the dales always a warm welcome and fine choice of ales in the pub. We love it

Landlord and landlady could not be friendlier and more helpful, fitting us in on their cracking campsite at the rear of the pub. Shower and loo on site. The pub does not serve food, but serves great beers and cider, and has a great atmosphere. A fantastic place to stay with your camper or caravan.

As always great place, great people and great beer. What else could you wish for in the Yorkshire Dale's within easy reach of all the main attractions, but with a small campsite behind why go anywhere else.

Fantastic traditional pub........No loud music or machines........ just a room full of strangers happily making conversation, enjoying the opportunity.

Lovely little site. Called in at the Pub, what lovely genuine people! Locals are more than welcoming and have been reminising with one about old Leeds pubs. Would definately recommend and will b coming back. Thank you for a lovely stay xx

Lovely old style village pub, run by John & Cath. Very friendly couple and so are their customers. They only do egg & chips for food ( packet of salted crisps & a pickled egg lol)

Called in yesterday made very welcome with my wife and our Yorkshire terrier made very welcome. A real gem. How pub's should be. Be back tomorrow as staying locally all new year.

Lovely little site, with friendly owners who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Basic amenities, but co-located pub has some well-kept beers on tap (though no food served) - and a bargain at only £12 p/n. We look forwards to our next visit

This is a magic friendly Yorkshire pub.

We were staying in the village and walked up to the pub only to find it closed. Doesn't open till 7pm. Looked OK through the window but couldn't wait an hour and half for it to open.

Nice basic campsite, next to a pub but they dont do food otherwise it would have been 5 stars

Just come back after 10 days of staying on the pheasant inn caravan site.lovely peacefull and quiet site spotlessly clean.would highly recommend John and Cath both lovely people also run the pub which is also a lovely pub made to feel welcome the minute I walked through the door many thanks Mark and dog spike
