I needed somewhere that delivered a Sunday roast due to recovering from heart surgery and I came across this place nearby that did just that. Once it arrived it was hot and smelt amazing. The portions were very generous and the food tasted absolutely amazing! Me and my kids absolutely enjoyed every bit. It was all homemade even the Yorkshire puddings. We even have the puddings and the crumbles were excellent. Honestly this place is a little gem and we will certainly be repeat customers. Thank you all for a lovely meal

We pre-booked as a party of 9. It was my first visit. I rang the day before and changed my preorder and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The meals arrived shortly after we arrived and everyone's was lovely, fresh and very tasty. The ferrero rocher cheesecake was the best I've ever had. The staff were warm and welcoming and the prices were very reasonable, especially the drinks. They had a very good selection of vegetarian food. I'll definitely go back again.

I really did not enjoy the food here and won't be going back .I had beef and ale pie which was so sweet I found it inedable the pastry tasted of lard the only thing I found ok was the mash. We had garlic bread which was very bland couldnt taste garlic at all .my husband had wings and ribscand said it was ok but nothing special .I was really looking forward to the meal as i had heard good things about this restaurant unfortunately I don't agree .Beautiful surroundings though and some staff very pleasant

Whenever I visit my parents we almost always have Sunday lunch at The George. Never had a bad meal. Great choice of starters, mains and puds. The roasts are delicious and served with plenty of gravy and veg. My favourite dessert is sticky toffee pudding, it's so light and moist. The food is also great value for money. It cost us £20 a head including a tip. They're happy for adults with smaller appetites to choose from the children's menu.

Popped in here on an ad-hoc detour to get something to eat & drink (5pm ish). Building looked like an old fashioned type of place and advertised food outside the front door. Parking in the old stable courtyard around the back. Tight bar, low ceilings but offered good ales. The chef spotted as and told us that if we wanted food, Stew and Dumplings were fresh and a special of the day. Very much a locals pub, bar flies were friendly, TV on with no sound (News) and best of all. NO MUSIC and could have a conversion without shouting over any noise. Grub was bang on (Stew, dumplings, mash and veg) and a massive portion. £8 quid. Mrs. had Scampi, a mountain of chips and a lorry load of peas which she said was really good. Also £8 quid. Great pub, great grub, well poured beer and nice welcome surroundings. Rough and ready, no frills good honest place.

Lovely welcoming cafe. Friendly staff and a homely warm place. Cosy surroundings, with a roaring fire. Food was delicious. I had a sausage sandwich served hot on brown bloomer bread. My friend had a sausage and bacon sandwich with looked equally good. I would return again
