The staff here were very friendly and understood exactly what we wanted even though we ordered something off menu for one of us. Food to a high quality and no complaints from our empty plates. I’d like to see spam on the menu for a bit of variety in the breakfast department but apart from that wonderful experience and just what we needed.

Popped in for lunch, my second visit here. Wonderful establishment with a great menu. Always busy, popular with locals, tourists and food was superb. Helen and her staff were wonderful. Make sure you try the chips, plus the wonderful Jam Roly Poly desserts. My second visit and will always try to pop in if I can.

I have now lived in the town for a year and was introduced to Pasture Wood very early on as it was an escape from my builders. I am a female and initially went on my own which was fine as very welcoming. Then started taking friends and they all love it and always ask to go there opposed to other eateries in the town. They are always busy and send out food at an amazing pace and very well cooked, I must add at a very reasonable price. The breakfasts are spot on, no greasy plates, and lovely golden eggs. Had liver and onions one lunchtime and it was beautifully cooked. Their chips are to die for. This is a great cafe good, good food at a very reasonable price. Was there 3 times last week!! Great stop off when walking the area.

So we’ve come to this cafe numerous times and had no problems whatsoever food has been great and can honestly say the same for service. But today wow I have no words to describe the attitude of the female owner after I asked for a sausage sarnie expecting it to turn up in a bread bun as it always has but today it turned up in two rounds of bread I politely asked the waiter if it could be changed to a bread bun which he had no problem with. He came back out with the sandwich and told me it would be an extra 50p to which I said I’d have to pay on card as I have no cash he then told me card was only a minimum spend of £5 bare in mind I’d already spent £15 on the food we ordered. The young lad then returned inside without saying anymore. Then we were approached by the female owner in the rudest manner I have ever seen in the catering industry, she came over already angry shouting and trying to patronise me about the food i had ordered, she proceeded to shout in my face after I remained polite and asked her to speak to me respectfully, she was irritated and clearly angry at me for simply asking for the food to be what I ordered. Never in my life have I seen an owner be so rude towards her customers. Disgusted to say the least.

We stayed in the lakeside chalet & after having our lunch on arrival decided to return for breakfast on the following two mornings. Everything about it was perfect, the breakfast, friendly staff & amazing value. Thank you for a great service.

We went down to the cafe today just in the spare of the moment while we were in town shopping. We got there and was met by a lady asking what we were doing there, my husband said we were just going to the cafe and she said we are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so he just said ok and started to get back in the car. She then carried on saying there are signs up around the cafe and at the front and it tells you on Facebook and on the internet. The way she spoke to us was like she was implying we were stupid, it wasn’t as though we were annoyed or anything and we were just calling in on an impromptu visit but it just seemed to really annoy her. Maybe shouldn’t be in customer based job if customers annoy her so much. Don’t think I will bother going back.

Good food and friendly service always been coming here for years, breakfasts the best value 😋 nice to sit outside in the summer and relax, feels like your on holiday!!

First time visit after their refurb. Wow what a transformation, the service and food are still superb (better than before actually). COVID guidance is being adhered to. The full English was delicious, cooked to perfection and a great price. The number of occupied tables reflects how good this cafe is.

Excellent breakfast and great service just be aware it’s cash only and we didn’t know until we got there but they were happy for us to run out and get some cash 🙈

Went for a late morning breakfast with family and was greeted with open arms. We sat down and the range of food with exceptional with everything from full English to cakes to cheeseburgers. All 3 of us had a big meal, hot drinks, and a couple of cheeky cakes and only spent £20. Great experience and absolutely loved it.

the breakfast was amazing in the morning it is great value and amazing bacon and sausages they served us very well so I WOULD RECOMMEND.

I had been told by a few anglers and pensioners that this cafe was definitely worth a visit. However I remained sceptical as, after all, this is a cafe that was set up for the needs of the fisher folk who fish the local ponds along the Humber bank. My only previous visit (until recently) had been many years ago and my lasting memory was the smell that seems to accompany fishermen/women who have boxes of maggots. It seemed to drown out any smell of food. The food sampled then was limp, cool and of a poor quality. It was with considerable reluctance that I agreed to meet a friend there for a lunch. I'd even had a small snack prior to going in case the food was to the standard I had expected. I need not have bothered with this. The venue was spotlessly clean, tables well presented with basic but good furniture. The food serving areas looked clean too, I wasn't able to see the food preparation areas but I would fully expect them to be of the same high standard. The food available was a much wider variety than I had expected with a decent vegetarian option available too, which pleasantly surprised me. The only other things to mention are portion size and price. Portion sizes were medium (not a complaint by any means) with a modest price to the dishes available. A range of cold and hot drinks were advertised, I can vouch that the tea is worth shelling out for. I left feeling slightly guilty for the prejudice I had gone along with and glad that I had visited this cafe. My companion gleefully informed me that he had been right all along about the place and that I should have gone months ago (I concede that he was right...) So, if you are in the Barton upon Humber area and fancy visiting an excellent cafe, I would recommend heading away from the town centre (and its range of good but slightly pricey cafes) to Pasture Wood Cafe. Your wallet and taste buds will be glad of the choice you have made.

Stayed in one of there cabins, had a bacon and sausage cob. Appsolutly fabulous! Great price too. Definitely coming back again!

Me and my friends come here every time we are hungover. There is a wide variety of choices which is good as a vegetarian. Great food, great service, great price!

Normalmente no uso cafés en Barton para el desayuno, pero esta mañana yo estaba en mi camino un poco más tarde de lo normal y decidimos ir a tomar un desayuno inglés completo. Me sorprendió gratamente ver a tanta gente el café estaba, estaba muy limpio, bien cuidado y acogedor. Había una opción de un pequeño desayuno a regular y luego un gran desayuno que incluía 3 de todo, desde los huevos a las salchichas y tocino, y todo por 6 libras.

We had lived in Barton for six months before we discovered this place hidden away over a railway line and down a lane! A lovely summers day we sat outside with our grandchildren watching the men fishing, a bouncy castle on the lawn loads of ducks and wildlife to watch stayed there a couple of hours with coffee and ice cream food is amazing such a good price ...

What a gem of a find. A MUST visit. Imagine it quite difficult to find. But the food is of high quality, and friendly staff. Plenty of space and so clean.

Would definatly recomend Pasture Wood Cafe. Although its location isnt in the centre of Barton this is what makes it more appealing. Set down a country lane surrounded by greenery and lakes it is very peaceful. Inside the staff are polite and the Food is good value for money. Would definatly recomend the food as it is home cooked.. :)

Aunque el café tiene un menú limitado lo que se sirve es de primera clase. Patatas fritas caseras no congeladas. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Los perros son bienvenidos en sección especial reservado para ellos. Agua fresca es siempre al perro y normalmente...

Los pastos de madera Cafe es un poco de la ruta habitual, pero bien vale la pena el viaje en mi opinión. Fuimos a un martes por la tarde. Tuve un desayuno, mi compañero tenía una tortilla y nuestra hija tenía nuggets de pollo y...

Mi hermana tenía una excursión con su nuevo motor de ruedas, además el perro necesitaba un paseo, así que caminamos hasta pasto madera Cafe. Debido a mi inexperiencia hermanas ella estaba indeciso sobre intentar ir a unas tuberías para llegar al jardín en la parte trasera de la cafetería, pero el propietario salió y se ofreció a ayudarnos. Sin embargo, utilizamos la mesa de picnic en la parte delantera del edificio. El personal era muy servicial y tomó su pedido inmediatamente y también nos trajo un plato de agua para el perro. Compartimos una ensalada de jamón, que era servido con baguette mayonesa en el lado más un té y café. Era precioso y una excelente relación calidad-precio.

Visit this cafe regularly and whether it's a full breakfast or something from the lunch menu it's always superb and good value.This is great for Barton Jeep up the good work!!!

A great value breakfast! Perfectly cooked, we ate outside next to the lake enjoying the sunshine. What more could you ask for on a Sunday morning. Will definitely visit again.

Worked over the easter weekend as we were busy ,so ordered breakfasts for the four days and my we wasn't disappointed excellent value and plenty of food ,great service and wonderful staff

What else to do on a cold wet June morning........... Let's go out for breakfast. Snap decision for my son and myself to nip out for breakfast, been here a few times, the place is always warm and spotlessly clean, a happy face welcomed us and took our order, two drinks then two breakfasts quickly arrived, the food was very good, all freshly cooked and good portion size, there was a large menu available with different sizes of fry up, I went for the middle one with extra black pudding, absolutely delicious and all for a bargain £5.50 each. The quality of food was very good for the price, can't wait to go again.

Eaten in the cafe a few times, breakfasts are great, as are other items on the menu, especially the home made chips. Tried their delivery service on Sunday, was feeling lazy, the food arrived hot and just as nice as when eating in the cafe. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Took my family down to pasture wood on a recommendation from a friend, and upon my arrival I was greeted by friendly staff who quickly helped me find a table and helped with a highchair for my son, The service was impeccable and very friendly, the food was very nice and enjoyable to eat, iv been back a few times and everytime iv been greeted with a nice at atmosphere and friendly service, I will be bringing my family and friends here for the forseaable future, I would recommend an omelette of your choice cooked by the owner helen she does an amazing omelette. This cafe is a gem of barton.Pasture wood cafe also offers amazing views and and scenery in the summer it's nice to have your food on the grassed area next to the lakes and ponds, Keep up the hard work guys, it makes yo ur cafe stand out from the rest in barton.

We used to go here most weekends for lunch, its clean and the service is generally fast & friendly.The setting is great for outdoor eating on a hot summers day with views over the lake and wildfowl in abundance.The food is always of good quality and portions are probably a little too good !It became really popular and that meant more staff were necessary which meant that prices had to increase too. This is fine but tends to bring it on par with most other Cafes in the area so we tend to visit a wider selection of them now.The owners are doing lots of improvements to the Holiday Lodges on site and they work really hard to make everyone's visit as welcoming as possible.

The family and I love coming here. Great setting next to the fishing ponds. When we ask the kids where they want to go out for breakfast or lunch they all shout back "Pasture road"! Even when offered the kids usual favourites of McDonald's, KFC etc. Lovely quality ingredients, great portions, friendly staff and the BEST chips!! Liver & onions and chips is my personal favourite. We're frequently asked if we want more chips, toast or drinks etc.Can't fault this place, love it!!

We popped in one Monday morning for breakfast, the cafe wasn't very busy but was welcoming. We ordered 2 breakfasts and 2 teas the quality of the food was good and we enjoyed it

My friend and myself popped into this cafe on our walk around the waters edge nature reserve and called in to see our husbands who were fishing the ponds A lovely little cafe for the public and the fishermen visiting the flushing lakes. Only went for a spot of lunch at the end of a bike ride. The food was excellent and prepared nicely with plenty of choice. Sandwiches, baguettes, rolls. Cooked breakfasts and lunches and afternoon teas. This café is hidden away but well worth a visit and is cheaper than many of the cafe's in the area and the food is much better too.

We called at the Pasture Wood Cafe before going for a walk along the humber. The food was very good piping hot, and very tasty, the chips were home made and delicious will defiantly be going back at sometime

This is a café very much off the beaten track but well worth the effort of getting there. The scenery is gorgeous, looking over 3 fishing lakes and trees and there are also cabins to rent if you want to stay over.I had a prawn mayo roll with a little salad (£2.20) and a mug of tea (60p). My husband had Jacket Potato with curried chicken (£3.50) and coffee (80p) The food came very quickly and was both substantial and tasty. We spoke to the new owners who were friendly and welcoming and I believe they will do well.There was a ramp for wheelchair users to get in and an accessible toilet. My one quibble from the point of view of accessibility was that the tables and chairs were fixed which makes it difficult for people with mobility problems eg people who use a walking frame, crutches or sticks who need to pull chairs out to give them enough room for manoeuvre.Overall I would say it was excellent service and excellent value for money and I would definitely go back again.
