The best restaurants in Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

We came today for our two year anniversary. And we came once last year too. The food is amazing, very fair portions. We got the pollo Kiev and the lasagna with some sides. The waitresses are always polite and welcoming. The interior / atmosphere is stunning. And the prices are extremely fair. My partner had it in mind that we’d be spending around £80 including alcohol / drinks but the bill only came to £53 all in! So we’re pleased really. It doesn’t feel too cramped inside. Feels like we have our own space compared to other restaurants we’ve been too. The house wine is even nice. Cheap and cheerful. I had the Merlot. We love it here, we consider this restaurant one of our ‘special’ go to places. It’s a restaurant we’d never go to with friends or family. It’s ‘our’ place. There’s just something about it. Wonderful place.

Last Wednesday I was there around 5:30 p.m. the restaurant was closed. There was no information on Facebook or even a simple note on the door. I tried to call, unfortunately no one answered. The next day I wrote a message asking about the situation, no response so far. This is the approach to customers in this restaurant

Had a lovely afternoon at the open mic session yesterday. A lovely country pub with friendly staff, a great atmosphere and we were made most welcome by the locals .....we will be back 😊☺️

The food was delicious as always 😋. One of the best place we always go to for meal with family we always love it. It is always fresh and taste the same. We have seen the Hall upstairs, it's a beautiful place for wedding, Mehndi and birthday parties 🥳 . Thank you Sher Akbar we will see you soon again

We went to the Bruno Mars Tribute night yesterday, disappointing is an understatement, there were 6 of us and 2 of the guest were regulars, initial thoughts were that the restaurant looked inviting, décor was quite appropriate for an up market diner and the staff were pleasant. That's were the compliments stopped, the table service was slow, I ordered a simple G&T, three times she came back and asked if I could change it as they had run out of things, this was the start of the evening not the end. The Sea Bass Starter arrived and it was very well presented but over cooked, the Pork main course was very slow to arrive, but when it did it looked very nice but after tasting it, it was disappointing, fatty and stringy. I went to the bar and ordered 6 porn star cocktails, one for each of us, I was asked to pay £66 upfront for them, this felt very insulting, maybe the owner thought I was doing a dine and dash, now the group I was with are all very seasoned cocktail drinkers, but not one cocktail was finished, everyone of us after tasting them refused to drink them, they tasted disgusting. Normally I would just let this ride but having had the upfront payment debacle I decided I should mention this to the waitress, I very politely told her the situation and she assured us she would speak to the owner, that was the last we heard of it, not a sorry or even an offer to remake them, nothing. Shortly after this we left even before the act had finished. As a tribute act, Bruno Mars was great and the ladies loved him, as for the Dining it was so disappointing, the bill with a few drinks came to almost £700 for the 6 of us, in our opinion, not worth anything like that.

Hands down the friendliest and consistently great quality food restaurants around! The lovely lady who runs this restaurant clearly loves her job, the restaurant, her staff and her customers. Honestly the nice vibes in here are contagious as soon as you walk in. Weve been here probably about 6 times now, and have had the best experience every time. The attention to detail in their interiors isnt missed either, they will redecorate so nicely for different occassions and offer new themed cocktails too (think valentines, halloween, mothers day, you name it!). I only hope the longest success for this place, and its already a super long established restaurant!

Ordered tonight and can honestly say without any doubt that this is the best place in existence!!! From walking through the door you have amazing hospitality to eating the food everything was outstanding!! 200% Recommend here for any wanting to try it, calling by or even needing a new food idea. GO GO GO! As mentioned the not only is the food outstanding but the guys running it as well!

I visit this beautiful place every week - the food is always incredible but what really pulls me in is the staff! Shout out to Blythe and ste who are the business owners and to the manager che, as well as all of the fantastic staff who always have a smile and are always ready to provide exceptional service! As a southerner who has integrated into a small northern village, peel street social and their team have made me feel so welcome and it is now my local place to hang out, chill and enjoy a beautiful iced coffee! The food is unreal- with specials inspired by the gorgeous places the team have travelled to! Please don’t pass it by!
