Beautiful saffron chicken kebab! The nice person behind the counter got me to try the peri peri chicken and also let me try the vegetarian pasta, both were lovely and I will back to try more of the menu! Very accommodating and friendly staff !!
We went to Lost Property Café for a private function early one evening. The room size perfect which gave the whole party a lovely atmosphere and the food was sensational. The staff made everybody feel very welcome and relaxed. It was the perfect venue for this intimate family gathering.
We have since been back several times for lunch to the Lost Property Café and every time it’s been a very enjoyable experience.
We visited Sher e Akbar on Boxing Day 6 adults and 2 children. We were so warmly welcomed it was fantastic. We had the buffet which I think is usually served on a Friday and Saturday but as it was Boxing Day they had the buffet on. All I can say is that from start to finish the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and attentive, we were welcomed in by a lovely lady who proceeded to explain where the disabled toilets were due to myself being a wheelchair user and gave us a fabulous table to make it easy for me to get to the buffet selection. She then showed us around the food selection explaining each dish then said she would leave us to get our food. We had taken our own beer and wine which they were very happy to supply us with wine glasses and a cork screw (the only thing they asked is for us to take our empty bottles and cans away with us which we were more than happy to do as it save you a fortune to bring your own). The starters on the buffet today consisted of chicken tikka, sheikh kebab which had slices of the most beautiful doner meat mixed around them, veg samosas, spring rolls, and onion bhajis all served with a beautiful mixed salad and 4 types of sauce plus’s poppadoms. They had around 5 curry dishes 1 was vegetarian 3 chicken and 1 lamb which was absolutely delicious. To add to this they had chips and a veg rice too. If you wanted nans or garlic nans you asked the staff and they made them fresh for you in their tandoor oven (they were beautiful) and the best thing for us was that they offered to make our grandchildren some chicken nuggets which they loved. The last thing on the buffet was Kheer (cold rice pudding) which was deliciously sweet and creamy and just nice to finish our meal off. The children had ice cream as they don’t like rice pudding but the guys said it was not a problem and got the kids the ice cream with sauces which they loved. We went as new customers and left as friends to the owners and can’t praise them highly enough for their hard work so thank you all for making our Boxing Day meal so awesome.

I was at the table nearest the main tv watching Liverpool win the league.
All I can say is what a pub. Drinks were spot on the service was amazing the toilets were so clean and the atmosphere was amazing. The Landlord and the rest of the staff made it an exceptional experience. I would recommend this pub to anyone. Not too many boozers like this little gem left Thanks for your hospitality
And all the best Tony
After a difficult period in life, I stumbled upon a place that genuinely lifted my spirits – Strada Café in Heckmondwike. From the moment I stepped inside with my niece, it felt like a warm hug for the soul.
Ivan, the owner, is a rare kind of human – kind, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. His presence alone set the tone for what turned out to be a truly special visit. He didn’t just serve us food – he made us feel seen, welcome, and at ease, something I hadn’t experienced in a long time.
The food? Out of this world. My niece ordered the Strada Special Original Breakfast – the lamb sausage was unlike anything we’ve had before, and the hash was such a delicious, unique touch. I went for the Strada Shakshuka, and let me tell you – the flavours were deep, rich, and perfectly balanced with just the right kick of spice. You could feel the love that went into every bite.
To top it off, I had the Luxury Nutella Latte. Words don’t do it justice. It wasn’t just a coffee – it was an experience. Ivan freshly ground the beans himself (no instant shortcuts here!) and combined it with a heavenly Nutella twist. Trust me, you’ve never had anything like it.
The café itself is full of personality – eclectic, warm, and inviting, just like the people who run it. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. Strada is a true hidden gem, and everyone needs to know about it.
I can’t wait to go back – the lunch menu is calling my name! If you’re ever nearby (or even if you’re not), make the trip. You’ll leave with a full belly and a full heart. ❤️
Spot on! Absolutely delicious and really good value for Thai food. Not orders from here for ages and don’t know why as it was yummy. Even easier now they are on Just Eat

Dropped in for a nice half hour earlier today. Lovely old pavilion, so nice to see it used. Nice bit of cake and no fuss coffee for not very much at all and the "staff member" doing the cleaning really loved her job! Will definitely call in when passing again.

Really nice new owners. Very clean and stylish in there. We only went for drinks this time, but we are going to go back to try the Turkish kebabs. The food menu is really really reasonably priced!
Lovely food excellent coffee and good value for money.
Owner and staff friendly and efficient. Good variety of hot and cold food and drinks. Something for everyone from a piece of cake to a full dinner. Would recommend to anyone in or around cleckheaton town centre.
I have attended a few times with my family on a weekend after falling out with the place previously last year..
EVERYTHING is better…
I usually have a breakfast or a sandwich but my partner has whatever lovely special is on offer without hesitation. He had an amazing lamb burger a couple of weeks ago, then this week had a “Cubano sandwich” and WOW! None of them disappointed. This week we also divulged into taking home a piece of cookie pie(not sure if they bake them in the kitchen there or somewhere else) If you love chocolate I recommend getting one because they are to die for too. The service could use a little work in terms of attentiveness but overall were much better than the last time we attended. Take a bow cooks! This place seems to be heading in the right direction and will now recommend to anyone!
Great family run business who pride themselves in what they serve. The food is exceptional we normally have the pancakes but decided on a change and ordered the Sackshuka spicy Indian breakfast. Wow…..
Disabled access and child friendly. My sister and I highly recommend.
