Delicious fresh tasting fish and chips. Friendly staff. Hidden away but we'll worth the detour.

What a complete waste of time this place is I promised my grandchildren fish and chip so we decided to walk and get some fish and chips from Scholes chippy on there website it said it would be open at 11.30am on Friday 30th August 24 it was completely closed down like it not be open for weeks this review is for anyone else who is thing of using this chppy don't waste your time

Down from London , to stay with a friend, never had chips with curry sauce, never seen such enormous portions best I have ever had, please open one in London ! Just fabulous...thank you

Very nice fish and chips served by a scouser with a great personality. Yesterday was my first visit but I’ll certainly be back. This is a proper chippy with proper portions.

Visited the chippy van at the black bull today and literally the best fish and chips I’ve had in years! Big portions and amazing fish batter! Our dog was a bit spooked by the noise and they turned off the generator for him, really considerate, lovely people! 10/10 we’ll be visiting the chippy soon!

My second visit to this superb West Yorkshire chippy. The fish, chips and peas are excellent. The shop is clean and the staff are pleasant and helpful. There are plenty of places locally (within 3-5 mins) to park-up and enjoy the Pennine views whilst eating your food. 😎👍

Absolutely fantastic chippy, everything now cooked in beef dripping so not suitable for vegetarians, however they do gluten free (both batter and sausages) , this is all fabulous news for me although my daughter (now vegetarian) can't eat anything from here. Still 5* because the food is that good and the owners are REALLY friendly and helpful

By far the best fish I have ever had! The batter was super crispy and full of flavour. The owners are very friendly and a pleasure to speak to. Will defiantly be visiting again.

Scholes Chippy is now the finest chip shop in the Holme Valley. The fish is to die for, but tonight we discovered they do cheesy chips. This closely followed the find that they have Spam Fritters! They are melt in the mouth amazing. No stingey portions, just the best fish and chips for miles around.

What a nice genuine family who run this chip shop, some of the friendliest people I have met, the fish and chips are 10/10 along with the service from the staff... Thanks.

We ordered fish and chips tonight and was very disappointed as the fish was flat and extremely chewy but worst of all overcooked. This is not the first time we have ordered fish and chips from here and it has happened on three occasions. Very disappointed

Decided to try this chipshop on my way home and my goodness the quality of the fish and chips here is great ...lovely cod and fluffy chips fresh made to order thats only the start I have to add when you have friendly staff the customers do appreciate it alot Scholes truly is probably the best fish in chips in Yorkshire in my opinion and I've been to quite a few well guys and definatley be seeing you again next weekend 😀 even if it is a trek to get there its well worth it.

They serve quality fish and chips at very good prices. Its a traditional English Chippy too, no nasty cheap donna kebabs etc. The haddock I had on my last visit was nice and chunky proper freshly fried.... tasty tasty!
