Casa Luli in Kirklees

Had an excellent meal. There were 8 of us and all served quickly and together with piping hot delicious food. Will certainly return.

As a family of five we visit Casa Luli often and have never had a bad experience, the food is always beautiful. However, my husband and I visited on Sunday 30/03/25 with our eight year old and teenager for a Mother's Day meal and were left hungry and disappointed. My Husband booked a table as we know how busy it can get and we didn’t want to be disappointed. We promptly arrived and it appeared there was some confusion over our booking, it was very busy so we sat in the bar area whilst they sorted out a table for us. Once at the table we were given a ‘Mother’s Day Set Menu’ £35 for 2 courses or £40 for 3. We weren’t expecting a set menu as there had been no mention of it when booking or on our arrival. In small print at the very bottom of the menu read ‘or any pasta or pizza dish from the main menu’ I asked for a main menu knowing the children and husband would definitely want pizza, thinking oh I’ll have pizza too, it was Mother’s Day after all. Our chosen pizzas ranged between £8 and £12 each, very reasonable. Add our starters and we were looking at between £18 and £20 per person, £80 plus our drinks is what we were expecting to pay. Before ordering thought I’d best double check with the waitress who I believe parents own the restaurant. We were categorically told No it was a set menu, we could order our chosen starters/pizzas but it would cost £35 EACH not the £18-£20 priced from the main menu we were expecting. I questioned this, thinking really that can’t be right? I was told from a now ‘stroppy’ waitress it was a set menu, set price. The waitress went on to say we have had over 200 people eat with us today and not one has complained, maybe they have more money to waste than we do!!! We simply could not justify paying £140 excluding drinks for a pizza meal for four of us, so we left feeling very disappointed. Why would such a lovely place put such a huge Mother’s Day mark up on their menu. We felt very hard done by in what appears to be a very captive audience. In addition no consideration had been given to a child’s option we were still expected to pay the ‘set menu price for a child who obviously eats smaller portions. I’m struggling to believe we can not have been the only family who felt this way. Shame on you Casa Luli!!!!

After visiting this restaurant for many years as a whole family unfortunately we will never be returning. Customer service skills do not exist at this restaurant, although the food is beautiful and we have never had a problem with the food itself yesterday I had a piece of plastic in my pudding (off a container) as I mentioned this, any normal restaurant would of apologised and acted accordingly however because I had eaten, it’s not a problem? How am i supposed to know I have a piece of plastic in my ice cream until I am eating it? It was not visible to see until I felt it in my mouth. It’s the principle, I wasn’t complaining about how the pudding tasted I was complaining about what I had found in it and if that had been in ours child’s ice cream this could of been a very different story and a choke hazard. I would dread to think how many thousands of pounds we’ve spent here as a family over the years and to be spoken too the way we was yesterday seriously lacks any form of customer service. Regarding the soda drinks also, you clearly related us to somebody else here which really is extremely rude, because if was anything to do with price it wasn’t it was a miscommunication with your waiter and your ‘good memory’ you’d remember the time you forgot to add 6 desserts onto our bill and I came and told you to add them on as this had been missed out. A very unpleasant visit, no apologies given you have lost some very loyal customers here which could have been easily avoided by acting accordingly instead of been extremely rude and unprofessional in your mannerisms.

Another fantastic evening at this fabulous restaurant. We have not been for a while, but we were greeted with the familiar warmth from all the team. The place is always busy and has a wonderful menu, from pizza to something really special from the daily blackboard choices. My special smoked fish was the really tasty, followed by the special steak with a lovely mushroom and king prawn sauce. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Had our Christmas dinner here every aspect was perfect, staff happy and attentive, atmosphere perfect so we could talk with background music and the food was fabulous .

Had Christmas day dinner could not fault it but just one small complaint the meal was short of roast potatoes Other than that it was spot on

Eight of us went for a birthday meal and a few drinks. We had good service and lovely food.

We visited Casa Luli for their early bird week menu, offering two courses for around £19. From start to finish, it was a delightful experience. We were welcomed with bread and olives on the table, setting a lovely tone for the meal. I opted for the garlic mushrooms to start, followed by a calzone, both of which were delicious and satisfying. To round things off, we were treated to lemoncello mints—a sweet little touch that added to the experience. We brought our 1-year-old along, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. They were so understanding, even with him refusing to take off his little hard hat, which he insisted on wearing throughout. The team also handled the “paying our part of the bill” situation at the end with patience and professionalism. All in all, it was a great experience—good food, friendly service, and a family-friendly atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Good food, great portions Reasonable drinks and food prices Slightly sloe service but weekends ar usually busy so expect slight delays and not many bartenders for big groups, perhaps pre order drinks aswell as you cam pre order meals for big groups.

Authentic Italian food, I honestly can not fault this restaurant in any way, the food was outstanding, there was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very efficient and friendly, when we received our bill we were pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was to other Italian restaurants, can’t wait to go again.

Very friendly staff and prompt service. The food was first class and well presented. We had a conversation with the owner on our way out, she was a very pleasant lady and she thanked us for our custom. We used to go to Garda at Grange Moor but it's not the same since it changed hands.

There was a slight wait for our table but that was to be expected considering we didn’t book in advance. The service we were given however made us forget completely that we had to wait. What an amazing little restaurant this place is. We ordered a bottle of wine, and about ten minutes later our food order was taken. Not even ten minutes later our starters were out and as soon as they took our empty plates again, our mains were out in no time. The staff here are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. I used to visit another reputable Italian restaurant in the centre of cleckheaton until it changed hands and became a not so nice place to eat. Since then we have struggled to find an Italian restaurant that we both love. I think we have found our new favourite Italian because the food here at Casa Luli was absolutely beautiful!

Amazing food,great value fantastic staff

This little gem is our favourite place to visit locally for so many reasons. It’s a true, family run restaurant and the staff are all so lovely and welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they are great with the kids too. There is always a nice range of specials on offer as well so there’s always something different to try. It’s advisable to book if you go on a weekend as it can get busy but it never loses that intimate feel. Food is reasonably priced and my daughter loves the complimentary lollipop she gets when we pay the bill! Great place to eat out (they also do takeaway) for a family meal, special occasion as well as romantic meal for two. Well worth a visit!

Very nice restaurant out in Liversedge, west Yorkshire. Came here with my partner, and we both enjoyed a romantic Italian dinner, with service being quick even on a superbly busy evening. The food was very well priced, and tasted great all round, we did of course leave with empty plates. Would recommend, and will return.

NEW YEARS EVE. Fantastic food from staff who looked like they wanted to be there. Packed but nothing was rushed. BRILLIANT ENTERTAINMENT TOO. Travelled from Eccleshill for for this. Was it worth it. HELL YEAH!!!

2nd visit and it didn't dissapoint , great food , lovely staff.

The first time here has been recommended by a few people. We tried the lasagna and the salmon carbonara. Following with a tiramisu and a creme brulee. Both mains were great. The lazania was rich tomato and beef packed layed paste.yummy. The salmon carbonara had good chuncky of salmon in a rich cream and pasta sauce. The dessert was great, a crispy top on the cream filled brulee. The only thing the wife was not so sure about was the nutty taste on the tiramisu, but she did not leave any.

Beautiful fresh Italian family cooked restaurant. Had a paella which was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.

Great food the pasta was amazing and the amaretto coffee ice cream was perfect. Waiters were polite and food was served quick. Was a little busy when we went but the atmosphere was still great.

Beautiful, best Italian food in the area

Sadly not as nice as our last visit. Food was ok although it did not agree with two of our party who had eaten the same meal. Service was pleasant but very slow to sort the bill out. Asked for it twice over a period of half an hour, eventually my wife went to the counter and waited for them to sort it.

Awful service. Truly awful. My daughter has hearing problems and asked the waitress to repeat something and was told not to disrespect her and that my daughter should get closer. The look off shock on my daughter's face would have been expected, at which point some the waitress said she was unprepared to speak to my daughter. Whoever she is, she's as embarrassment to your business.

Fantastic family run restaurant. Went on Monday night so it was quiet, but the food and service were both fantastic. Would love to go back on a tribute night!
