Absolutely amazing service, food was delicious and fresh. Staff went out there way to accommodate my son. Definitely will be visiting again

Had a function with work and all of the staff went above and beyond. They catered for my coeliac disease diet and really was so helpful and mare me feel reassured. My mother and father in law, all of my family know how hard you work to tailor to people needs as we have ordered from you for years. Thankyou so much the venue was lovely 😍

Hidden gem of a place. It's been going years but isn't really advertised. Brilliant family run restaurant with super friendly staff. The all you can eat buffet is fabulous. The chicken tikka starter is to die for. The kids loved it, especially the youngest who they made a real fuss of. We'll definitely be back soon.

We have just had the most amazing meal at Sher e Akbar. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The portions were generous. This was one of the best meals any of us have enjoyed anywhere. So delicious. And the owner spent a long time chatting to us - a very charming and lovely lady. Although this is a very professional restaurant there is a real home-cooked feeling. They really care that you enjoy their food and have very highly standards. Highly recommended.

Here for a wedding photoshoot upstairs where they have a small function room. Needed a quick bite, had chicken sheeks and chips and was yum, quick service and freshly cooked.

I had my 60th birthday celebrations there ،the food was appsalutly buitiful and the staff was so helpful and polite،i definitely will be going back there again 100 per cent،i give this resturant full marks.

Staff all nice and couldn't do enough for us. Food was beautiful and plentyful anything we wanted was available. We was a party of 7 very happy customers. Booking a banquet suite upstairs for 40 in August.once you try this place you won't want to go anywhere else.

My boyfriend had recommended this place to me as I was not aware of it but really glad he did. The service was absolutely wonderful and the lady who owns it was very welcoming, the decor was just beautiful and everything was just clean to perfection. It was an amazing intimate experience. The staff bent over backwards to attend to everyone's need. It was a beautiful 80th Birthday party for a very dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Absolutely fantastic food, this restaurant is a total gem. We held my mum’s 80th birthday dinner here on 13 January 2024. Great room upstairs, lovely atmosphere but the food is incredible. The owner and her staff could not do enough for us, they accommodated any request.will definitely use again if we have another celebration. Top marks to the chef. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Visited Sher e Akbar for the first time recently was invited to a party. So the venue its self is nice and spacious plenty of room and nice for a set up. The food was really really poor. Wouldn’t recommend.

I'm afraid I can't vouch for the food (yet!) but I wanted to write a review for the staff - the lady I spoke to couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful. I was trying to arrange a meal for friends gathering the night before a funeral. When I told the lady the situation she said that they were closed on Mondays but that she could arrange to open for us so we had somewhere to eat together (everywhere else seemed closed on Mondays too!). We didn't manage to eat here for certain reasons but she had called back to discuss it with me, and was so polite and wished us well at the funeral. Just such a lovely woman. Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely be eating here, and will be recommending to others.

Best of the best everyone is like a family

Went here tonight and had the best food and service ever. There was 6 of us and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. The food was cooked fresh and they kept fresh food coming. The chicken was beautiful and cooked to perfection. The lady on front of house made you feel right at home. You could stay there all day socialising there is no rush and you can enjoy drinks with friends and take your time trying their different dishes. This is such a hidden treasure people need to know more about and we will definitely be returning. We had a friend over from Switzerland who doesn’t get to taste curry very often and he was mind blown by the different spices and tastes. to the couple running this place, you are a credit to your community and a credit to yourselves. It is a talent to cook food this good.

Make nice food for public events for your cellabration .

I booked the function room upstairs for a birthday party. The food was freshly cooked on the day especially for my Party which was delicious, the service was second to none, Suzie was very accomodating. I would recommend the food 100%.

Good food, lots of variety. They also have plenty of options for vegetarians and for kids.Very friendly staff. They receive and greet everyone with lots of affection and respect. Everything was managed very well. Food was excellent. Especially kheer (rice pudding) and gajar halwa (carrot sweet) was absolutely outstanding. We were 7 adults and 3 children. All of us absolutely enjoyed the evening out. The cost was also very competitive. I definitely recommend this place. A big thank you to all at Sher e Akbar.

We a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) had a great time at this family friendly and welcoming restaurant. The food was delicious, as was the experience. All four members of staff encountered were so nice, smiles all round and treated us as if we were family. The two chefs, especially the customer facing chap and both sisters were so nice and attentative ensuring we as a family got what we required. We were consistently checked upon and spoken to appropriately and we were given a high quality bespoke buffet experience catering to all our needs. Even on leaving the two sisters spent time speaking to us and hugged my wife and daughter and engaged with the younger children in such a kind way. Thank You for your excellent hospitality (10/10), we will definitely be returning and recommending you to all our family and friends. I have always had a good time at the party events attended here but today we really enjoyed on a smaller scale, quality time in this very inviting and lovely atmosphered environment. We experienced throughout nothing but excellent customer service 👍👍

Yesterday I held a dinner reception for my friends & family at Sher e Akbar. A group of nearly 50 adults and quite a few kids of various ages. The function went really well and everyone enjoyed the food and ambience. It turned out to be much better than what we have experienced before at larger establishments. It appears to be family run. From the time I approached them to check availability the service and hospitality was exceptional. The management made every effort to meet my requirements and even made suggestions that suited me really well. They prepared a buffet menu for me tailoring it based on the diaterry requirements of my guests. They then explained the chair and table decoration options they can offer and the associated costs. They were very reasonable and flexible. The banquet hall on the first floor was really well decorated and easily accommodated all our guests even with the kids running around. They even offered sound system, microphone and party lights! We had the hall for the full evening from 5pm to 10pm. The food was served fresh at agreed times with really good staff who made sure all my guests were eating well. They even engaged the kids with toys and carried them to allow the parents to have their meal in peace. The overall experience was exceptional! I am glad i decided to use Sher e Akbar after seriously considering some of the bigger and better known establishments, function halls, restaurants and hotels around Huddersfield. What they may lack in terms of street appeal is quickly made up by the best service and quality tasty fresh food. I am certain me, my family and friends would not be considering any other option and will keep returning to Sher e Akbar. Once again a huge thankyou from my family for making this event of ours a success.

Lovely family restaurant, very welcoming. The food is outstanding, everything cooked fresh to order, and you could taste the freshness in everything. My leftovers tasted just as good when I had them for lunch the next day. Planning to go back for the buffet as I'd like to sample plenty more of what they have to offer.

Went with my family. They seems to be over conscious about baby moving around. My 2 year old daughter fell a water glass and someone started advising me how to look after my baby even I have apologised and wanted to pay for it. Limited selections for £19 pp buffet. 4/5 starters, 3 main courses chicken and lamb, 2 deserts kheer and halua. Wouldn't recommend for buffet. Place was nice and clean.

First of all the lady in the restaurant isn’t professional at all, she was telling every kids off with rude sounded words, this place isn’t kids friendly and so other staff who are working in the kitchen. not much variety of food as a buffet of £20. kitchen staff was rude and sounded irritated after my 2 year old broke a glass accidentally. very poor customer service. been there first time from bradford after visiting a park in huddersfield. terrible experience and never going again.

Decent food however not much variety of food for buffet I think it was £18 for buffet personally think not worth it wouldnt recommend it to family or friends

My order was a takeaway. Chicken Karahi, naan, and desert of kheer. They accommodated my mild spice level request. Food was wonderful, good quality ingredients. Chicken karahi is like the food you eat at home. Kheer was delicious too. Shall be returning.

First time here since the pandemic. There is buffet food (generally on Friday and Saturday but sometimes on other days) but food can always be ordered from the menu. Prices haven't been updated on the menu, but items have gone up by 50p/£1/£1.50. The food is great here, superb flavours and well presented, and the people are friendly and happy to talk you through options. There is now a disabled toilet on the restaurant level (although it was locked when I visited), as well as toilets downstairs. Considering the quality of the food, it's not nearly as busy as it deserves to be. I think there is parking around the back although I've not tried it.

First visit and a pleasure meeting the owner who is very knowledgeable about the food. Great service and excellent quality of food.

We went there back in May when we were visiting the area, we had a lovely welcome from the lady who owns the place who greeted us and than showed us to our table. The food was lovely and the staff were helpful with catering for out child as well! The decor and interior of the restaurant was beautiful!

Food and service quality was beyond expectations. I could not recommend this place anymore. Prices were really good and the atmosphere overall was soo calming and relaxed i am definitely going to go back there.

Amazing place to eat they do a beautiful all you can eat buffet on Saturdays very attentive lovely staff you can also request things that are not on the buffet it's very reasonably priced they do the best peshwari naan I've ever tasted!

Really underrated place. Lovely staff that are soo welcoming and helpful. Had one of my wedding events here 3 years ago and it was all perfect due to the management and the food is very tasty and fresh! It is a local gem honestly.

Amazing food with great hospitality and very deceiving from outside as once we got upstairs we had a whole top spacious floor with enough space with tables chairs a stage set up to fit around 100 people easily. Would definitely use this venue again.

I arrived very early and before the buffet was set up. A lovely friendly lady took my order, which was on a basis of, "What would you like to eat and how hot do you want it?". I thought this was excellent! To start I opted for poppadoms and pickle tray and then a lamb and spinach curry (Madras hot) with a keema naan. Everything was delicious. They're not licensed so I just had water with my meal but will bring my own booze when I visit again - which I definitely will. As I was the only customer, it was nice to chat to who turned out to be the co-owner. She was really pleasant and explained how the buffet worked and that they could tailor-make the dishes to suit a group's taste. I'll definitely return when I'm next in the area and will give the buffet a go.

A Lovely restaurant with a venue hall upstairs which can accommodate approximately 50 to 60 people the lady owner is very polite and very understanding and listens to all your requirements and Give suggestions and great advice. I would highly recommend this place as the food was absolutely delicious and it was on time and it was consistent and the most important thing was she cater to all our needs. I would highly recommend this place

I can not recommend this restaurant enough! Nice clean calming establishment the staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic meal very attentive and professional! The buffet is always nice fresh and hot every single dish is amazing with such wide variety to choose from and when booking in advance for birthdays etc they give you the option to add your favourites to the buffet! The desserts are also beautiful my favourite is the Kheer! They also make the roti and naan fresh to order and their peshwari naan is the best I have ever tasted! You will never be disappointed here I always leave with a full stomach feeling satisfied with a smile on my face! The prices are very reasonable too! I can’t wait to come back!

Attended a wedding ceremony.. atmosphere was cozy, very good for small to medium gatherings, food was spot on and management goes an extra mile to help out which is excellent. Restaurant own parking is less but are plenty around the area. 100% recommended to visit.

This place is an excellent, small, family run outfit. Been here a few times for various parties and weddings and it's never disappointed. The food buffet is great and always warm.

I challenge you to find me a better Peshwari Naan! The food here is always absolutely delicious and the wonderful couple who run this restaurant are very experienced and are so accommodating. There is a buffet at weekends, table service during the week, take aways or you can book the function room upstairs for parties. Also in terms of current covid guidelines the place is absolutely spotless, cleaned thoroughly with hand sanitiser readily accessible for customers at several points.

Location is pretty poor. The parking is extremely dire. Tight little alleyway with no real space to fit a car in without messing up the alloys. Looks like a local shop to be honest. Not very attractive from the outside. Inside however, the food was lovely, clean and well presented. All staff were very nice
