A delicious Sunday roast, and lots of choice. A most characterful pub, and excellent friendly service.

Met with a friend for lunch and was not disappointed,great food reasonably priced in a dining room which was very clean and well set out. Staff friendly and helpful,nice menu choices and selection of drinks.

Food was below average, we both ordered chicken & at that price it was expected to be chicken breast, it was a cheap cut of chicken thighs, when we said we wernt really happy with the food, the attitude of the lady wasn't really good. Would not go again 😔

Food was excellent, generous portions and good value. Staff were also helpful, Definitely recommend the fish pie and sticky toffee pudding .

Nice little bar and cafe with a good choice of drinks but limited food choices. Pretty sure the food is reheated from frozen - fine if you can't be bothered to cook for yourself but nothing special. Staff were friendly.

Very nice pub, nice decor and gas a good atmosphere. Good hand pumped beers to enjoy by an open fire. Unfortunately I didn't get to sample the food as the day we had intended eating there they didn't do food. Maybe some other time.

Decided to go to the blue bell for a meal. Booked table on line very easy to do. So pleased we went for a meal the food was lovely plates nice and warm such a lovely experience the staff are very friendly and helpful I would highly recommend the blue bell

Great little find just off the A1 towards York, we stopped for breakfast. Dairy and gluten-free accommodating, dog friendly as the tables outside undercover. Fantastic food great parking and all Cooke from fresh is brilliant. Not sure why people are rating four stars on here this is definitely a five star cafe

Just spent the weekend at this lovely pub. Nearly cancelled due to weather forecast, but so pleased we didn't. From arriving to departing, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was fantastic. Had breakfast and dinner on both days and couldn't fault anything. If you want a great place to stay to visit this beautiful part of the country , hook now

We called here today for Sunday lunch for the first time and it didn't disappoint, this has to be by far the best Sunday Lunch that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. It was a generous portion of roast beef, and the yorkshire pudding was large and crispy just as it should be. The gravy was rich, thick and tasty.

Handy for a cuppa after work or during a shop. The cafe is situated in the simply food store and it’s clients are generally local. Good service and bright and airy cafe. Huge windows mean it gets very hot in sunny weather. No outside seating.

Disappointing couple of visits recently, poor ambiance, no one seems to be in charge or responsible. High prices should be supported by top service. Very quiet, beautiful place, shame
