The Bluebell Inn in Harrogate

Had a fabulous stay at The Bluebell. 3 couples plus a dog, arrived Sunday afternoon, had a wonderful dinner, food was excellent, service from all staff warm warm & friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. At dinner our waiter was Luca, and what a wonderful young man he was, we couldn’t fault anything. Our rooms were amazing, lovely & spotlessly clean. Beds very comfortable! Breakfast again excellent, Caitlin was lovely & friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you to everyone for making it such a pleasurable stay, we hope we can come back one day xx

I was slightly wary given some of the reviews (although the friend we went with is a regular visitor) but there was no need; it was excellent. The staff could have not been more accommodating for my wheelchair bound father. This really helped make it a relaxed outing. Access is easy from the car park, they pre-chose a good table for us and there is a well laid out disabled toilet. They happily turned down the background music on request as it can be a problem with those who are hard of hearing. The staff were all absolutely lovely, service was efficient but we never felt rushed and the Sunday lunch was excellent, the meat and vegetables perfectly cooked. The deserts were great too. A nice, cosy pub. Recommended and we will return.

Stayed in room 4 Saturday 31st August. Lovely large room and bathroom with shower. Had lunch and evening meal, lots of variety and lovely food when it arrived, didnt have to wait long. We spent time in the seating area outside and in the bar area too and people were so friendly and the staff aswel. Had a very large breakfast the following morning before we rolled home. This is our third visit and we will definitely be visiting again soon. What is particularly nice is the little rows of lights hanging from the ceiling and walls scattered about really makes a difference to the ambience. I also love the decorative book shelves in the restaurant and bar area. Very enjoyable stay thankyou!

Meal for two circa £130. Starters very dissapointing. Main course Steak x 2. Large chips with meals tastless and bland. Side order of cauliflower cheese cold inside. Finally loud music piped through from bar area totally thoughtless of volume level or customers ages dining in restaurant. Dissapointing and not previous Standards

Family Sunday lunch …. frozen Yorkshire puddings, suspected frozen (hard to tell as they were so dry, hard and tasteless) roast potatoes and tough meat. The desserts sunk even lower … the worst being the Crème Brûlée … as this is my favourite dessert, I’ve tried a fair few over the years and if this was anything more than a small ramekin of tinned/carton supermarket custard, I’d be very, very surprised. Not even Ambrosia custard at that!! The ready-to-serve custard had not even been mixed with a splash of fresh cream to help it even try to pass as anything remotely indulgent. The only saving grace was the authentic crystallised sugar on the top. Eight quid for a small ramekin of tinned/carton ready-made supermarket custard … absolutely shameful, the Chef needs to give his head a knock. Blatant cutting corners may cut costs and increase profits, but it does absolutely nothing for the reputation of the food here. I certainly won’t be recommending Sunday lunch at this place. Wherever you go, there are some meals that maybe don’t hit the mark …. but this one just left me feeling absolutely ripped off and having been taken for a mug.

Lovely stop over at the Blue Bell last night . The most comfy superking bed in a cosy room ,ensuite with shower and lovely soft towels provided. Friendly staff and excellent freshly cooked breakfast . Would def recommnd a stay here if in the area .

Very friendly welcome from the staff. A number of pleasant eating areas and busy for a lunchtime. Good and varied menu. The fish pie was excellent with a large helping of fish and a nice salad. Monkfish scampi was good but could have been crispier. A shared dessert of ‘ spotted dick’ was superb !! A nice atmosphere and a very enjoyable lunch.

Had a wonderful stay at the Blue Bell for our wedding anniversary Accommodation was first class. Food prepared by Rene was delicious. Antony made us feel very welcome on arrival and Nadine and Leah could not have been more friendly helpful or professional. Well done to all of the Blue Bell team loved spending time here !! We stayed for 5 nights B&B and had dinner in the restaurant on 3 occasions. The room we had was large with a large double bed and a bathroom large enough to hold a dance in. All well furnished and appointed. You will be asked to order your breakfast the night before for reasons that escape me? The food is generally good at both dinner and breakfast, albeit from fairly standard menu choices but we echo the previous reviewer regarding the salad - lots of leaves but little else. The Blue Bell staff are all friendly and efficient and I wouldn't hesitate to return when in the area. We had a lovely stay.

After hearing good reviews about this pub.We decided to go here as a half way place. What a disappointment! I had salmon and prawn salad, few boring lettuce leaves, 2 halved cherry tomatoes , few prawns and 4 pieces of salmon.Very little sauce.However, asked for more sauce and did get it. My husband had the fish pie ,3 prawns,salmon but no haddock! Our friends had chicken Caesar salad with the breast just plonked on top.Roast chicken just 3 slices. Very few people in the restaurant.Young lad was pleasant ,however young woman ,in blue blouse ,manager(?) could see we were not happy But didn’t bother to come over. Overall,not value for money.

Lovely meal with lovely people staff were incredibly warming, huge thank you to Kiera and her wonderful team know a few of the team being a local to the pub but many thanks to Kiera, Luca and Sharron for looking after us all on what is a real special night to the whole shoot especially when you’ve got your local pub looking after us as well as they did last night.

The pub and restaurant has a great friendly atmosphere and upon arrival we received a warm welcome from the bar and waiting staff. The service was outstanding throughout our meal. There is an extensive choice of dishes to choose from. We ordered steaks and they were beautifully presented and cooked to absolute perfection with all the usual trimmings (thank you chef/s). The Manager and the staff are attentive but not obtrusive. It is evident by the service that we received that this pub/restaurant is well managed. It takes a team effort by front and back of house to achieve and maintain such high standards. A special thank you to you all… I would highly recommend a visit to the Bluebell Inn!

We stayed one night at this delightful pub with 4 bedrooms. Our bedroom was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. We particularly liked the seatingvarea in the bedroom. Thecfood was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly. We met up with family for Sunday lunch which we all enjoyed.

Well we visited the bluebell for the weekend 05/07 April I would give them 3.5 stars which could easily be 5 with some attention to detail Firstly the staff where very warm and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble In our room to start with you couldn’t sit on the toilet seat as it was to loose this was rectified when mentioned to the manageress we found what looked like coffee beans on the bathroom floor I did show these to the manageress she seemed as baffled as I was it looks as if there was a leak from the shower at some time and this has affected the skirting board why not paint this instead of leaving it bare and maybe dust the skirting boards it wouldn’t go a miss The food was excellent breakfast was awesome and so well presented dinner was very good just let down by a very stodgy suet pastry for the beef pie (but maybe that’s how they like it up north) lol Overall a lovely weekend very good value for money we will return Attention to detail would soon move you up a notch Keep up the good work

Under the guidance, managerially... of the most delightful Keira who is, to the 'customer experience" , as Strawberries are to Cream... Along with her team of stars..Luca, Liam, Joe, Leah. Elliott and Sharon provide a wonderful 'destination' for all tastes! They 'got my vote' !!

Excellent, good value food together with very helpful staff. We found the place purely by chance. Very impressed! Would definitely recommend.

We booked lunch for a group of friends that had eaten here previously. The Blue Bell is not cheap, but has a nice ambiance. The welcome was friendly, but some aspects of the visit were very disappointing. Firstly, a number of menu items were not available. After taking orders at the table, when served, a starter arrived with the main courses and one of the main courses was the wrong item. This was accepted to avoid waiting for the error to be corrected. The meals were of a good standard. We needed to ask the staff to clear the table and take desert orders, and even then one or two of the items were not cleared. The service was friendly but generally lacking in provision, and was far below that received on previous visits. Following this experience it has been decided that our next group lunch will unfortunately be elsewhere.

i will never stop telling people to come here!! it’s truly amazing the staff are so lovely and helpful, the food never fails to amaze me and the atmosphere is just as amazing! the new spring menu is out so i went with a friend to try it and its just amazing i had the bang bang chicken burger and it’s amazing!! you need to go and try something here because im sure everything is just as good!! ☺️

I went to the Bluebell for dinner not long ago and it was incredible! I had the Bang Bang Chicken Burger which was amazing, and the Soufflé looked gorgeous too. The drinks were also excellent. Service was impeccable, they did everything possible to accommodate us and were so kind and helpful. Couldn’t have had a better experience and was one of the most memorable and tasty dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Had a lovely experience!! Popped in for lunch today. Hadn’t booked, but they were very obliging. Met by Keira who was just the loveliest and most welcoming host. Really looked after us. We had a Chicken Kiev, with a Chicken pie off the specials board with some beef dripping chips (on her recommendation). Did not disappoint!! Absolutely fantastic, top notch quality pub food!! But it was really the friendly service that made the lunch for us. We thought Keira was just marvellous. Now that we know the pub is dog friendly, we’ll definitely be back again!!
