Just had a great Sunday lunch at the Roos Arms. I went with a friend and we both had the roast pork with stuffing. I am gluten free so it is great to go somewhere who can accommodate my dietary requirements. The plates were hot, and the roast pork was succulent with great crackling. There was a variety of lovely vegetables to complement the roast both on the plate and served separately. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back.
The food was absolutely incredible for the price. Much better than your average pub grub! The Barman was lovely and funny. The only tiny downside was the serving staff looked uninterested and didn't really interact with us at all!
Fantastic curry, usually collect and order though their website, thought I’d try it via takeaway and still as good. Brilliant curry. 10/10 have recommended to people if they are ever in pock.
We arrived at 1pm and were sat immediately in a booth which was fine. We had to sit 32 minutes before we had our drink and food order taken. We ordered Taco and Empanadas as starters, which were delivered 5 minutes apart?
Next was the sharing platter, this was "AMAZING" not just your normal Sunday spread, but lots of added extra flavours. The Cauliflower that we ordered as a side was "FANTASTIC" very flavourful indeed.
If the staff had a little more enthusiasm then this would be a perfect little eatery.
Had a wonderful meal staff friendly and attentive. Put us upstairs part of restaurant with no other dinners would have preferred to be downstairs. But would go again
We called today for fish and chips to eat in but unfortunately we didn’t book, no wounder they are full they were the best fish and chips we have ever had we will definitely be coming again and wine make the same mistake again we will definitely be booking
Really disappointed with something we were really looking forward to. Wanted fresh and flavoursome but food was bland and tasteless. For the price really poor. Will stick to Chinese from now on.
We visited while staying at the Wolds Edge Holiday Lodges. We had a lovely meal that was home cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. Service was excellent, all the staff were friendly and accommodating, we felt very welcome.
Best fish and chips in Pocklington by far, and the nicest fish I've had compared to most other places I've been to. But getting very expensive. It's a bit of a luxury getting fish and chips now. We used to get them often from here, but can't remember the last time. Bit of a tragedy really considering it is supposed to be the staple English meal. Not any more.
It's shutdown & derelict
