Working away from home and staying in a lovely guest house up the road and we decided to go for a pint. I saw other customers food being brought out and I couldn’t resist!!!! And I was the furthest from disappointed than a fat man who loves his food could be. The roast of the day Yorkshire wrap is beyond words and I will be returning when I’m over this way again and to top it off as this review is titled? The landlady and the staff are so welcoming I felt like I’d walked in to my local not a pub 200 miles away from home!! Thank you so much and I will be back.

Seen the ads so gave it a try. The approach from the car park to the pub was not welcoming. Kitchen door wide open and not a pretty picture. Place was almost empty ,maybe a good job as they still managed to get our orders wrong. Heaven knows how they cope when busy.Cutlery was all water marked. Food average . Wont be recomending to anyone I'm afraid.

Visited for a bite to eat, typical village pub, even with a tractor parked outside. Local farmers at the bar so already looking good. Not an extensive menu but had the essentials. Wife had a Lamb Shank which fell off the bone. I had the Steak and Kidney pie which was worth every penny. Not a sprig of Parsley in sight, No frills, just good grub that does exactly what it should, and a good pint or two to wash it down.

Exploring the area on a sunny Sept Sunday, I stopped here for a quick Sunday Lunch. Fairly quiet little place, but always encouraging to see locals using the place - and taking away plated lunches for relatives and neighbours. A good sign. Had a platter of Roast Beef and trimmings, with a Yorkie of course. Good, simple food, and just what I needed. Washed down with a fine pint - Yep, that's just what I needed. Friendly staff, and all the necessary Covid precautions. No likelihood of a Michelin Star, but I'd be very happy to come back here for more food and beer.

We never ate a meal as had been to snaith for dinner and only popped in for drinks. Wish we had ate as food on other table looked really good. This pub felt really safe and had put in lots of things to keep you safe with pandemic. Tables spaced out one way entry system and a nice beer garden at back. If we ha stayed another night we would have eaten in pub really nice. Barmaid was really friendly.

Fabulous little place to eat and drink with wonderful food. We had Pork loin with pepper sauce and belly pork. Both were delicious. Followed by Chocolate Fudge cake and Lemon Meringue cheesecake both equally as delicious too. People are lovely, friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. Look forward to visiting again in the future.

This was no beer festival at all. It was just us as a great big group paying £10 each for each of us to get in and had to pay for 4 and 5 year olds. Music was just ear bleeding and food way too expensive. The hog roast was that small no one could find it and the bouncy castle was held together with Duct tape and only had 1 fan for a 2 fan castle. This meant there was no where near enough air to keep it up. Yes they had lots of different beers but all at a cost. Gin was on tap for anyone with a mortgage to buy it. So to recap you pay £10 for a ticket to then let your child on a death trip castle only to then pay just under a fiver for a Asda burger or hotdog because there is no hog roast as advertised! Utter rubbish ripoff!

Traditional country pub. Really well priced food, good choice and well cooked. The bar isn’t designed very well so makes life difficult for the bar staff which means drinks rounds take a long time to get but really well priced drinks and a nice relaxed atmosphere make this pub a perfect choice. (They did keep running out of ice so I’d recommend investing in a bigger/better ice machine)

Visited to celebrate joint birthday tea. Warm welcome, great food, large portions. Chef made effort to come out to check all was well. He made a special point if making sure our daughter was happy. One of our party commented the onion rings were the best they had ever tasted. The one negative was the chefs singing when he brought out the birthday cake. Thanks for a great tea.

Mrs East Yorkshire Fingers and I could not face preparing Sunday lunch last week. For the first time in ages (too long!) we decided to go down to our village pub instead. Great decision. Not only was the bar lively and full of the usual Sunday afternoon banter from locals and visitors alike, the beer was spot on. My good lady wife had the roast pork lunch and I chose, for a change, to have the beef sandwich with salad and chips; this after we had each had the cauliflower and cheese soup to start with. Certainly no need for a pud after that!

Where do I start? Firstly had to wait for our table which was booked beforehand. Not once while we were waiting offered a drink, the staff were too busy talking between themselves to even acknowledge us while there we uncleansed tables. When we were taken to our table, they tried to put 6 of us on a table which was for only 4 people. The food and presentation was poor, and we had to wait for over 10 minutes for extra gravy which we requested when our order was taken, making our food go cold! When we asked to speak to the manager/owner he was very rude, disinterested and lacked the quality's of an experienced owner/manager should have. Having previously owned and ran my own pubs, this is THE WORST PLACE I have ever visited, and please see this and act. The great british pub culture is sadly going down, and unfortunately these cowboys are taking the trade with them.

This is our local pub, we've always been regular visitors. Having found out that Di & Adam had left, we went with a little trepidation, unfortunately it was just not the same. No warm welcome, considering this was a Saturday night, only 3 tables in use including ours, before it was always packed with a great atmosphere. The food was ok, chips were enormous & for me could've been cooked more, like mine crispy not anaemic & peas were overcooked they were shriveled. Prices are still reasonable, even if portion sizes are smaller than before, better for me though. We will give it another go sometime.

Just had a great meal at the Kings Head. My daughter is a Mexican food fanatic therefore we shared the nacho starter between three. All I can say is it was the best, gaining my daughter's very particular seal of approval. The mains arrived with just the right amount of time between service. Steak was cooked to order and exceptionally done so. My choice was Hunter's Chicken which was moist and tasty. I liked how the large portion of salad was served on the plate with the chicken and sauce in a dish. The chips, which were homemade and delicious, were served in a seperate bowl, which I preferred. Huge portions! We also ordered an extra portion of onion rings, perfect! My daughter chose curry which came with rice, chips and naan bread. She said 'it was gorgeous'.All in all a great meal and we'll definitely return with more family!Although the menu was simple, which is something I prefer rather than a menu which gives you a headache, everything I could see other people order also looked great. I feel that a simple menu, cooked well, is far better than being bombarded by poor quality choices. All the staff were super, just the right amount of attention, friendly and polite.Great chef. Keep up the good work!

Feel rather harsh at a 3 star, but a fair reflection as a whole. The pub itself has a traditional village feel which is nice. Staff were friendly. Portion sizes were huge. I had the lamb rogan josh, which ended up as chicken and it came with a large side salad which I thought was odd for a curry and ate non of it. The price was good for the portion size as no one finished all of theirs.

The beer tastes good and the food tastes amazing, they have a varied menu and a specials board that caters for all tastes. The portion sizes are generous and every time we have been the food has been to a consistently high standard. They also do themed food nights, for example Italian, tapas and American grill just to name a few....but make sure you book early as tables go fast. We were staying in Pollington overnight and the Kings Head came recommended. A lovely village pub atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. My partner and I both opted for the belly pork, mash, and veg priced at £7.95 on the 'Specials' board. We were not disappointed by our choice. Succulent, tasty, and with a quality second to none. Absolutely delicious! Not only are the portions plentiful from the extensive menu, but everything we saw come out of the kitchen, and on other diners plates looked mouth wateringly good. We were hoping to come back the next day for Sunday lunch but unfortunately our itinerary didn't allow. However, rest assured we will be back (and soon!) to further enjoy the friendliness of the staff and locals, and the superb food in this lovely village pub. Stuck a pin in a ( google) map to find a breakfast one hour away from leaving holiday accommodation. What a find. Interesting decor showed off the home made cakes and savouries whilst we waited a few minutes for a table. Breakfast avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread, sun dried tomatoes, chorizo and pea shoots was divine and substantial. Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed serving and cooking as much as we enjoyed eating. Make a detour. Worth every mile and every penny.

We visited over Easter and loved all the little chocolate eggs hidden around the cafe - kept the kids entertained whilst they waited for their food! Lovely cafe with a great menu. We ordered a range of different food but loved the halloumi burger and cheeseburger especially. It’s great that dogs are allowed in this cafe but as we don’t own a dog, even better that there are two areas - one for dogs and one where dogs aren’t allowed. Service was quick and with a smile, reasonably priced too for restaurant quality food. The only improvement needed is the toilet area - could do with a update!

I don’t often go into bakery shops but we were visiting Driffield today and spotted that there was a small seating area inside at the front of the shop and a larger area further in. We were ready for coffee and a snack The shop is obviously very popular as I had to join the queue but it gave me the opportunity to look at what was on offer. Vastly superior quality to what is available in other chain bakery shops and very well priced. I don’t eat bread but the sandwiches were definitely calling to me!😹
