The Green Inn Rawcliffe in East Riding of Yorkshire

Food fine. Ribs main course plentiful in quantity and good in quality. Lovely triple cooked chips. Pork fillet dish enjoyed by another in party of 3. Service rather sloppy. On arrival, it took about 10 minutes for a menu to arrive, I assume because they are limited in quantity. Two initially arrived followed by another. I noticed another table of 4 had one menu between them. Ordered wine from an 'unpriced' wine list.l, trusting it would be a reasonable price - which it was. Meal arrived at about 8:25pm, which is very slow service given the booking was for 7pm. At no point was there an apology for the delay. I assume there were insufficient staff in the kitchen as plenty of staff waiting on, not all of whom looked too busy. A shame as had looked forward to visiting and probably won't return because of the service issues with good competition elsewhere.

Wow what can I say. 10 out of 10 cocktails, dinner,breakfast absolutely outstanding .Staff and service was amazing rooms was so modern and clean even had air-conditioning .. I would definitely revisit thank you.

My partner & I stayed at the lovely Green Inn. We felt so welcomed by their staff who couldn’t do enough for us. It’s a wonderful family run business, in a great location. Free parking, the food menu was amazing…we much preferred our stay there to the one night we stayed at saltmarshe hotel. I would highly recommend the Green Inn to anyone looking for a short break. We will definitely be back!!

Stayed here for the weekend with the family,3 rooms ,the rooms are well decorated and clean ,breakfast was lovely ,we all had an evening meal on the saturday ,with other family members ,we all enjoyed it ,we had a meal here last year so we know its lovely food ,waitress service was excellent ,we will stay again and dine here again .

Delightful, well patronised restaurant with a nice menu and delightful food. We really enjoyed our visit (we’ve been a couple of times) and likely to return. Not the cheapest bin the area but quality and service shine through. Well worth a visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights as we were at a wedding not too far away. We ate in the pub on the Friday evening and the food was amazing! Triple cooked chips could have crispier but that’s nothing to complain about. My husband had the pie…stacks of meat and my wagyu burger was amazing. Staff…..so lovely, we were made to feel very welcome. The owners and chef were fantastic too, nothing was too much trouble (even the cheese and ham sandwich at midnight). The rooms are amazing and clean. Thank goodness for the air conditioning! Would have like a full length mirror on the wall next to the shower room and maybe a few coat hooks there too but otherwise it was just perfect. Iron and ironing delivered less than 5 mins after hubby requested one. Ample parking and lovely outside seating area. Pretty village too. If you need a taxi, do some research before you stay. Get one booked well in advance.

Two of us had lunch today The food was excellent and service good. Afterwards my friend asked for decaffeinated tea, and in a transparent tea pot was brought tea which tasted like Earl Gray We queried this and another tea pot was brought and the tea was a different colour and was fine.On paying the bill at the bar we were shown the box the tea bag was taken from ?? proving what….. but my friend was made to feel stupid.What happened to the customer is always right.We shall not be back.

Stunning ! Researched before we went and were not disappointed! Had lunch and booked online. Beautifully decorated inside and out. Chose to sit outside as was a rare summers day that was sunny !! The food , staff, service and whole ambience of this beautiful gastro pub was incredible. We will definitely be back as we had a lovely romantic afternoon

Very friendly and welcoming and nicely decorated and very clean but sadly the food lacked flavour. The cheese in the grilled cheese sandwich had no taste to it and the home made chips also lacked flavour and crispiness . Shame really as has potential to be really good with better quality ingredients.

We had an absolutely lovely sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday with 10 family members. The food was amazing but the service was not! We had various young staff serve us who did not smile or engage in conversation. They plonked the food on the table and we waited an age for the drinks. They were obviously busy but it clearly showed on their faces. We felt rushed as they were clearly waiting for the table to be cleared even though we had not reached the 2 hour time slot deadline.

I have visited the green inn only a few times and have to say when we visited last was the best visit amongst them all! The food was exceptional like always and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We had two lovely young ladies named Chelsea and Samantha who served us, they were polite, friendly and very good at what they do. Could not recommend this place enough!

Wow well recommend went today 30th March for lunch I had the steak & Guinness pie mushy peas home made chips the best I've ever had the wife had chicken skewer with rice and veg with a nice sauce base pint of black sheep very nice crystal clear I'm a ex landlord the wife had a j2o.........all for under £40.00 will be returning

Really lovely place,the staff were all lovely and very friendly and helpful,we had lunch with the family and the food was fantastic and they really couldn’t have done more for us.We stayed overnight and the room was superb,very clean with you could possibly need .The full English breakfast was delicious and we will be going back in the future

We stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast here and the whole experience was really excellent. First of all the staff are really lovely, friendly and nothing was enough trouble, all done with a smile. The room is brand new and absolutely spot on, spotlessly clean and very cosy and welcoming. We had lovely steaks in the evening, cooked to perfection and very well presented. Good selection of wines and beers to add to the experience. Full cooked breakfast in the morning was piping hot and again really excellent. We will return, thank you to all the staff who made this an excellent stay.

Four of us had Sunday lunch here. The lady that took our order was very friendly & accommodating. The food was plentiful & delicious. We will definitely use again but go for the smaller plates!!

Excellent location, service and accommodations. I stayed for one night whilst on business and I cannot fault anything. The breakfast was excellent and very accommodating. The inn itself was very welcoming and I am sure lunch and dinner would have been very good as well. I stayed in one of the suites which had everything you could need and to a very high standard. Definitely worth paying a little bit more - the bathroom with roll top bath was lovely. Bed very comfy and good desk and seating area. Very quiet location and good car park at the rear with plenty of room. It’s very close to drive over to businesses in port area of hoole as well and motorway connections. I would definitely stay here again.

We usually love the Green Inn but on our last visit we experienced some strange behaviour. The front door was locked at7pm but we could see lots of diners inside. We had a booking so we knew we should have a table. Managed to find the rear entrance, this should have been made clearer on the front door. We sat down, ordered our food. Took 50 minutes to arrive. Fair enough, it was busy. In those 50 mins, we were asked for drinks four times despite still having half a pint left. There were far too many staff lingering around. Then when the food arrived, we were asked again another three times. We found this really off putting and intrusive. We took a short break and the young waitress decided to ask us if we had finished our meal and my husband said he wasn’t sure. The girl apologised then took the plate anyway. We had decided we wanted to call it a night. We asked for the bill, laid £50 cash down on a £42 bill. We were going to tip £5 when our change was returned. The change never arrived. Instead a lady came over with the card machine and we told her we had already paid. Wr were really miffed off and hung around the till. No one asked us if we were ok. We drove off. Received a phone call 10 mins later and I thought, finally. Our change. No, it was to tell us that we had not paid. I told her we had. I suspect the waitress had pocketed the £50. Not my problem. I would suggest they check the cctv to sort this out. I am still waiting to here back from them.

Really friendly welcome and then a superb meal. Fantastic starter of butter nut squash but the duck was absolutely amazing!! Will definitely be back.

We had a big family get together here and to be honest given the size of our group I was not expecting the food or service to be that good. The food was excellent, my wife had the chicken sweeter which she loved, I had a beef dish. The service was polite and efficient and we were all very impressed

Our first visit to the Green Inn. I rarely eulogise about anything but our experience was fantastic' The quality of the products, the preparation, the presentation, the staff and the atmosphere were second to none. The braised beef was melt-in-the-mouth and the puddings !!! For a small village pub/ restaurant, they really do have a phenomenal business plan. I’ve been to the green inn a number of times & have had the Sunday lunches, steaks, burgers & the beef pie special over the course of my visits. I could not fault any of the food - it has always been delicious, there’s a great range of drinks & cocktails, fantastic friendly service from welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere. There’s also been a pianist and saxophone player on occasion! Often busy & for good reason, but clearly well organised. I’ll definitely be back!!!

Lovely restaurant, food was excellent (can recommend the duck and the lamb), staff were attentive and friendly. Restaurant has been refurbished and looks nice, nice covered courtyard as well for when the weather is better! We will be back!

We had to wait near the toilets for our table,for 30 mins. Then another 40 for our food to arrive. Before we could ask for sauces, the waitress was gone. I said excuse me twice but nothing,so we asked another waitress,but still no sauces. Eventually I asked an older waitress and she was friendly and brought our sauces and came back to see if everything was OK. My husband had lamb but there wasn't very much,but I had ribs,which he finished off because I was full. The waiter was lovely, too. PS we had to ask for water twice too. This was a Saturday night,maybe other nights may not be so manic. We were disappointed as this was our anniversary.

If my review was based on food alone it would be a 4. However, we arrived 15 minutes early and were told there was only waiting room outside we were OK with that but after being outside for 25 minutes it got a bit chilly so we decided to move instead where we had to stand and wait. Our booking was for 2.30 but we didn't get seated till just before 3. They took our orders whilst we were outside to save time? The food was good but we weren't offered sauces we had to ask for them. 3 out of the 5 of us had puddings which didn't seem homemade and portions were small. They state you have 2 hours at your table, but before I had even started my coffee, they brought the bill less than an hour after being seated, making us feel rushed. I feel they are cramming bookings in and have no decent area for people to be seated. The place was heaving and it wasn't a relaxing experience. This was our 4th visit and will most likely be our last.
