Lily s Beach Cafe in East Riding of Yorkshire

This cafe has gone down hill since it had new owners, the coffee was tasteless, we ordered 2 Americanos with cold milk, sent them back twice as they came as lattes, also ordered a cappuccino that was cold, shame. The staff were uninterested and miserable.

Now called Lyndseys cafe, popped in for breakfast with my daughter. Friendly staff, quick service, hot freshly made coffee, good breakfast, clean toilets.....nothing we didn't like. We had the breakfast stack, was really good.....bigger than you think! We will be back :)

When it was Lily's it was 10/10, now its changed hands its 1/10! Went beginning of May, NO gammon, NO Fish Pie, NO paper towels in the toilet, the whole place seemed miserable, yes I understand there is always teething problems so I've been back since. I will never ever step foot in there again. Can only describe the presentation of the food as SLOP, again NO GAMMON, NO FISH PIE, CHEAP BREADCAKES, SALAD WAS CHEAP & NASTY, Lasagne resembled SLOP on a plate, hideous! Womens toilets out of order. The young slim girl serving needs to learn some manners and customer service, her attitude was disgusting.. the whole place is a sham, can only hope it changes hands sooner rather than later.

What a great little cafe with real home cooked food, the cottage pie was delicious, extremely friendly staff, didn't get the name of our waitress but she had the best customer service skills, she brought our furbaby a sausage for his dinner, yes Lillys is dog friendly too, this cafe was very clean and well kept, we will definitely be returning when we visit Hornsea again. Thank you to all the staff, you made our anniversary a treat.

we had breakfast at lillys one morning we order then the drinks came and 30 minutes later the food came ? I order a full breakfast hash browns were over cook and hard my egg was the same the bacon was burnt my partners breakfast was the same nw normally you would say why did you not say something. .. but why if you are a long standing cafe I would expect you to provide the goods but unfortunately not in this case for me I wouldn't go back again

Lovely cafe with lovely friendly staff. The food is delicious and cooked while you wait. The cafe is lovely and clean, we try to go at least once a week. Has lovely sea views to. What more could you want.

This is in the perfect location I took my granddaughter for breakfast after the storm and watching the waves at high tide. My granddaughter said her hot chocolate was the best she’s ever had. My poached eggs were amazing. The decor is lovely and such friendly staff. We will definitely be back. Thankyou.

I had lunch today with my daughter and was very pleased with the service and price . The food I had, steak and ale pie, was delicious, The only problem was that as I am 86 years old and visually impaired I found the entrance ramp a little difficult but it is a congested area and would be difficult to change. I shall certainly be going back again though.

We was looking for somewhere to eat when we visited Hornsea. We was originally going to the chippy, but then saw this place was dog friendly. So we thought why not, we’re so glad we did! Lovely food and staff, nothing was to much trouble. We asked for 2 sausages for our dog and they cut it up into a little bowl for him, was such a lovely gesture. We was just saying before they brought the food over that we need to cut his sausages up to cool. Next time we’re in the area, we will be back. Definitely worth a visit, good portion sizes. I’m gutted I didn’t have the steak and ale pie. But got to try the hubbys, he said it was the best pie he’d had in a long time.

We had read the reviews on Tripadvisor for Lily's Cafe, after seeing it on a walk along the seafront! We both ordered full English breakfasts and lattes... the breakfasts were perfect! I'm a fussy meat eater and I couldn't fault the breakfast at all. Staff were friendly and we were able to have our dogs sit with us outside. We can't wait to go back to try something else on the menu!

Definitely worthy of a 5 star rating. First time visitors on a short break to the area. Hygiene is immaculate my wife is particular about the greasy spoon smell this place is lovely. We ordered full English Breakfast and tea and had our breakfasts cooked freshly and served after roughly 15 mins everything was cooked to perfection and not swimming in grease. Service was top class, lovely staff great and atmosphere about the place. Owners should be proud. Will definitely return in the future. Jonny & Talia x

Fabulous all day breakfast, really lovely beach front café, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Great portion sizes ( in fact we couldn't manage it all). This cafe is also dog friendly which is a bonus. The only downside is that it can get very busy at times but then that's not surprising considering how good it is.

Great to have dog friendly tables out the front, with a bowl of water available. Friendly and swift service and coffees were lovely too. Great sea view.

What a great find! A throw back to the 70's and perfect for it. Traditional old fashioned values and service PERFECT. Great food at very reasonable prices all served up with a smile. If your in the area give it a go I'm sure you won't be disappointed

We try to get to Lilys cafe at least once a week. Lovely staff can’t do enough for you and always with a smile. The food is home cooked and delicious, never had anything but lovely food.

What a lovely cafe this is we have been coming to hornsea for years and never used this cafe.we popped in this morning for breakfast and it was beautifully presented fresh with all the correct ingredients for a full English the young lady was very polite and the service quick also no rip off prices like other cafes on the sea fronts of Yorkshire we will only use this cafe in future

We took our 2 year old grandson. His meal was lovely and he really enjoyed it, fish fingers, chip and peas. My salad was the best I have had for ages, proper thick cut Yorkshire ham, no packet stuff here. Great value, coming again next week. Also the staff are very pleasant and efficient.

We visited here at the weekend for lunch after a dip in the sea. Having a German Shepherd with us we opted to sit outside though it said well behaved dogs could go in (he'd been in the sea so was a bit bedraggled to go inside!) Food was served quickly and we got good sized portions. Both the vegetarian breakfast and veggie burger were tasty. Staff came out to check the dog didn't need water and gave him a treat. Good service all round.

I visit this place with family and friends often, it is dog friendly. The food is always fantastic with a wide range of options, my grandma is a vegaterian and there is always something for her to choose from. The staff are very friendly, the outstanding view from the restaurant window over looks the popular Hornsea seafront. I would highly recommend this place! :)

We go to Hornsea a fair bit, specially out of season when we can take the dog on the beach. We love Lily’s Cafe which is right opposite the beach. The lady who works there is so friendly and welcoming and the food is great - home cooked chips are fantastic. It is very reasonable price wise and dog friendly.

Popped in here this morning without knowing what to expect but what awaited me was the best breakfast I've eaten in many years served by very friendly staff.A REAL "Full English" with 2 of everything including the toast & a Free top-up on your mug of tea for £5:50 ... this place just can't be beaten!

Called in here thinking we'd have a quick bite to eat after trying to find somewhere indoors for a snack type thing. Well we were hungry by the time we found this cafe. As soon as I saw Lasagne on the specials board I wanted it. It was fairly quite when we went inand they seemed to want to close the ovens at 2.30 (normal practice) but a few people came in after us and everyone got served. We ordered the last Lasagne, chips and salad. Pie, mash and peas (£5.50 each), and a kids meal £3.25. Everyone was so happy with their food. It's all home made and fresh. We were not disappointed at all. Big plates full of food. Very friendly staff. Kid friendly, and dog friendly. Two very well behaved dogs in while we were there. Which was so lovely. Free WiFi too which was nice (ask for the code). It's a small place, can imagine it's very busy in summer. But well worth a visit. Very well priced. Thank you so much. (we're the couple with the quite loud baby this afternoon)

Always a fantastic breakfast here. Not at all greasy and perfect portions. Hot drinks are excellent and every bit as good as a Costa. Definitely would recommend.

Called in at Lily's on Monday 18th June. Four adults and a dog, all with different tastes and everyone agreed that the food, service and value for money was very good -granted, Sam our Labrador, has never complained about food, but he has never had to pay for it either.

Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Hornsea. Came in for dinner with my mum and grandma, the food was delicious, beautifully cooked poached eggs for those two and a superbly soft on the inside, crispy on the out jacket potato, just the way I like my spuds. The staff were lovely, chatty and joining in our family gossip. The location is glorious looking out the window you get a great view of the sea front, can sit there and watch the world go by for hours. Will definitely be returning here whether it be for a snack or a meal. Lily's you've done Hornsea proud.

This was the worst full English I have ever had in a cafe, oily and badly cooked. How can a meal be so badly cooked and the produce so poor when it is a small cafe with a limited menu, I doubt I would even return for a cuppa let alone eat here again. I can't believe the good reviews and constant recommendations for this cafe, some people must have no standards at all.

We called in yesterday 3 adults and 5 children, and I have to say this is by far the friendliest cafe we have eaten at in Hornsea especially with children! ( if you visit Hornsea you will know what I mean! ) the owners were very welcoming and great with the children. The food was very nice and great value for the price. The chips were to die for!!

Tasty fresh food cooked to order, staff are brilliant and prices are fantastic! I’ve sat in and had food to takeaway and can complain about neither, highly recommended for top cafe food!

Lily’s Beach Cafe is a great place for a brew. It’s lovely to sit outside and look at the ocean. The food served is excellent - sandwiches, chips, breakfast, and a wide range of drinks. Friendly service, wonderful cafe.
