Best fish and chips in Pocklington by far, and the nicest fish I've had compared to most other places I've been to. But getting very expensive. It's a bit of a luxury getting fish and chips now. We used to get them often from here, but can't remember the last time. Bit of a tragedy really considering it is supposed to be the staple English meal. Not any more.

We’ve been here multiple times for food and it’s always been spot on. It’s a casual, relaxing venue serving quality food. I really can’t understand the few negative reviews as we’ve never had a bad meal or poor service, but perhaps some people just can’t be pleased. We think the menu is very reasonably priced, you certainly won’t leave hungry! The staff are all really welcoming & nothing seems to be a hassle. They work incredibly hard & always greet you with a smile. Can highly recommend the Fish & Chips, Bluemoon Burger, Greek Kebab, the Truffle Garlic Mushroom starter is also delicious! This place gets 5 stars every time from us!

After ringing to book a table only to be told they were fully booked, we tried a walk to see if there were any cancellations and struck gold! This place is clearly popular with the locals and it’s easy to see why! Great menu, great staff (many family members) - book a table and give it a try!!!

Really nice breakfast, friendly staff. Would have had a much higher rating apart from the fact, it's very cold in there (yes I know it's winter) and the main issue which affects the rating is dogs in the cafe. Especially little dogs in their owners arms at the table. Why people can't leave their dogs at home just for an hour while they have a coffee baffles me. Animals should not be allowed unless they're working dogs. It's unhygienic and not fair on other customers.

We enjoyed as a self indulgent treat afternoon tea at Betty's for the second time. While not the cheapest thing you may experience, you won't forget this one. The food is beautiful to look at and taste. The ambiance is very genteel and quintessentially British accompanied by a grand piano tinkling in the background. The staff are dressed authentically and seem to enjoy their job, as we did the exception service given with both a smile and expertise. We were served by Eva who was bubbly young lady and a delight to engage with. In all money well spent and an experience we'll remember for all the right reasons...😋🍰☕👏👌
