Be aware! They no longer serve food. This needs to be amended, but the guy behind the bar said he couldn't do it!

A proper pub with a fantastic atmosphere 👌

While on holiday called in on a sunday afternoon girl behind bar needs to go on customer service e course no thank you when change given no attempt at conversation only I terested in beer garden and was only pleasant to regulars hubby put glasses back on bar she stood and watched did t acknowledge him or say thank you then turned to talk to regular when left no thank you I'd give this one a miss plenty of other places would welcome your money in pocklington

Good beer good price Been updated since I was last in plenty tv for Sport there is pool table,darts. Not sure if there doing food. No beer garden but small court yard.

We only stayed locally for one night passing through,but what a pub,the atmosphere was great both from behind the bar and the locals,we will 100% be returning ASAP and will be telling all our friends they must call in at the Cross Keys.

Only had a drink as when I asked if they do food I was told that they do not. So don’t expect to eat there

I am severely disappointed with the manager and landlord of this establishment they do a serious disservice in the excellent staff they hold due to their lack of professionalism and understanding. The owner was extremely disrespectful, myself and 6 friends had spent a few hours in this establishment and were treated horrendously after one of our group accidentally dropped a glass. The owner hesitated to listen to our plea that it was an accident and refused to understand our side of the story and was incredibly rude to us, and stated that we were disrespecting his establishment, even though six of us had put at least £100 behind the bar! Incredibly disrespectful. Severely disappointed.

The bar staff pulled me a pint of black sheep the manager saw it poured it down the sink and put a new barrel on and pulled another pint perfect!👍

Just started doing Sunday lunches last weekend, thought we would give it a go and we really enjoyed the food, just could have been more vegetables as one bowl for 4 people wasn't enough, but apart from that all good give it a try.

Really lovely sunday lunch , roast lamb was delious . Huge portion worth every penny. Compliments to the chef .

we initially went in for a couple of drinks which were very cheap. then later on about 4.30pm we decided to go back as earier we had seen some people order food which looked nice.we ordered fish and chips and mushy peas. the fish was like a baby shark. the chef brought the food out to us.my husband who is a very good cook himself commented on the gravy he had we his homemade steak and ale pie homemade chips mushy peas and proper tasty gravy. we toyed with the idea of takeaway so glad we didn't. then to top the hospitality a guy called mick with a camper van took us back to our campsite and our dog .what a friendly bunch of people at the Crosskeys. thanks to Richard and the chef.

Very nice meal. They had a good selection of meats to choose from (Sunday Lunch) and plenty of vegetables, the vegetables was cooked fresh and crunchy not soft the price is very reasonable.

Relisted this review, as I hadn't realised I'd given 1 star. It's better than it has been for years. In fact it's been transformed to be honest.

Good reviews of the new chef at cross Keys following a period of time with no food so decided to take the family for Sunday dinner. Daughter is vegetarian and was slightly disappointed at being told we couldn't order off the main menu as it was Sunday but the chef came and discussed options which was nice. Food plentiful and cooked very nice. Limited veg but was only due to a busy Sunday. Puddings were very nice and homemade. The best cherry pie ever! Service needs a lot of work on. Mainly the fact of just basic things such as cleaning the table. Giving you a knife and fork as we eventually had to borrow from another table and giving cutlery for Puddings. It seemed the poor chef was doing all the work! All in all when the service is sorted out it will be a great place to eat. I know it's still early days so not complaining just pointing out a few facts.

Lovely atmosphere - relaxing music (songs were oldies - some locals singing along a bit 😊) - we had Sunday lunch 1pm - it was very quiet at first then got busier later - good choice of beer - very reasonable prices for drinks and food - roast £9.99. We both had lamb roast. Vegetables extremely good - meat tender (think pre-made as soft and tender) - yorkshire and roast potatoes very good. Gravy unusually good with extra jug of it provided. The chef brought the food to the table and said to let him know if we needed more veg or yorkshires etc. He also then checked all was ok. We were very happy. We are not local but came from Leeds to walk the canal walk. We will call in here next time we come.

Its a comfortable pub with good music and atmosphere is good.. Only downfall.. Its too bright.. Too many lights and very bright.. Hoping the food menu starts back up.

If I could give less I would not only not dog friendly as stated but also not people friendly, homophobic staff in this day and age, disgraceful!

Been a few times now. Seems well run. Smithy keeps his beer OK. The outside is now looking a lot better. My only criticism is they don't allow dogs. All the others in pocklington do. His choice tho. All the best
