Never… again…. 40 minute wait for two meals from the takeaway. Get home and the sauce is like water…

Exceptional food, can’t fault anything.

Food was good. The taste was lovely. It did have some bones which prevented me from giving it five stars. Delivery was on time despite us being hard to find. This was our first experience with Pop’Dom. Two adults and one 15 year old enjoyed. A meal for two is more than enough. The sides and rice were spot on. Your enjoyment of the mains depends on your enjoyment of spice. I will be back.

First time ordering, something a bit different was delicious food quality was excellent. Sauce was thick & tasty & good meat ratio. Definitely ordering again.

Visited the restaurant and had a fantastic meal the previous week so thought we’d try a takeaway, polar opposite! Prawn curry had 6 prawns in a watery gravy, chicken curry very bland and again sparse chicken in watery sauce. So disappointed

Wonderful curries. We found not a lot of meat in them but the sauce more than made up for it. Really delicious. It was also very expensive for a takeaway, more like restaurant prices. Will use again.

Ordered a takeaway and was expecting it to be mediocre but to my surprise this is the BEST Sri Lankan restaurant food I have had in a while in the UK. Just amazing!

Delivery was pretty late, a little over 45 minutes later than the maximum time estimate even though the app was updated that the food was on its way well in advance, however can't fault the food or service, someone ordered the wrong thing by accident and the staff made the switch with no issue which was great and all of the food was delicious, would order again, may consider doing a pick up though

Super friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. We really enjoyed our food, the masala in the dosa was a little plain but otherwise very enjoyable meal.

Fish pakora was okay but quite small the lassi tasted like it was watered down the masala lacked a lot of flavour but the samosas were delicious.

Really lovely delivery guy but the worst Indian takeaway I’ve ever had :( £26 down the drain…. Pilau rice , wasn’t even Pilau, not sure what it was but it wasn’t nice. Ordered a chicken korma it was watery, a brownie yellow colour, had peas in, wasn’t sweet and it was really spicy. (I hate spicy food too) I also ordered a Peshwari Nan , that was bland there was no nice taste to it and it wasn’t sweet at all. I’m so disappointed because I waited over an hour for this too.

Thoughly enjoyed our meal here.Only critism is menu not informative on what is in each dish .Staff all very helpful and obliging.

Ended up coming back for a second day in the row. Having seen the masala dosa on a Facebook post whilst working in the area my husband treated me to a weekend away. After a five hour journey we couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. The food was amazing, although fully booked the service was great, nothing was too much trouble. Decided to go back tonight to try more things on the menu, very authentic Indian food, at such reasonable prices. Definitely worth the journey.

Dont let the un assuming interior stop you. Very excellent dosa with great service just before closing. Even got extra sambar and coconut chuttney after the kitchen was closed. Bob marley music wasnt quite indian, but if they enjoy it too, it is authentic ;) And 25 pounds for two people with drinks! For food this good? Unheard of!

Food tasted ok - not much meat in the curries - just all sauce we a few pieces of chicken. Was freezing cold and almost an hour late, we waited just under 2 hours for delivery which is totally unacceptable. Wouldn’t order again because of this.

Food was good except sambar which was quite spicy for taste. Delivery driver was late by 1.5 hrs and then delivered to wrong address . Upon calling the restaurant they were quite supportive and sent new order to correct address.

Our first visit to what is our closest South Asian restaurant. It was busy for early on Tuesday evening. The waiter was very friendly and explained the dishes. Service was relatively slow but there were two larger parties in. However, the food was exceptional! We had paneer dhosa, mushroom curry, and chilli chicken together with a large bottled beer and a bottle of wine. Every bit of the food was great. Our meal for two including the drinks was £50 for two. Great food, great value, great atmosphere, I highly recommend this small, unpretentious, restaurant and will definitely be returning. Would have been a five star review if the initial service had been quicker. 🙂

Food is great but their service is absolutely ridiculous!! Took over an hour for our food and drinks to come! Also ordered for delivery one day and it took ages for the food to be delivered! Rang for an update but staff were very rude and not apologetic for their delay at all!

Me and my friend Danny came in for some food! First time coming for food here and it was absolutely unreal!

I was staying in Cottingham and found this lovely place on Just Eat. I ordered in a fish curry with vadai and rice and was blown away by it so I visited in person the following night and had the most wonderful Chettinad chicken curry with coconut rice and sides. It was delicious and the staff were lovely and friendly. The place is unassuming with scratched tables and nothing fancy about it but that adds into the authenticity of a genuine Indian (not Pakistani/Bangladeshi) restaurant. I'm giving the place a solid 10/10. Its the best Indian food Ive had outside of India. Very highly recommended.

Food was excellent with some great flavours. The fact that a lot of the menu is gluten free is really good. I’d definitely use Pop’dum again despite a small delay in the delivery.

The food is the best Indian food I’ve had in the UK. I am a big lover of their chicken Briyani, chilli chicken and the sweet lassi. Everything about the restaurant and the service is amazing. Prices are also extremely affordable. The owners are a lovely couple with warm hospitality and it makes you feel right home. Big shoutout to Sasi that makes everyone feel so comfortable to dine in. Lovely food, amazing place and heartfelt atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Good but you wate look for your food

We came in, was accomodated beautifully, despite being a busy night. Excellent customer service - such a pleasant surprise to see Sri Lankan food represented. The mutton kotthu/koothu (roti) was delightful - with decent portions that I shared with my mother - the mild is perfect for someone who enjoys the flavours without the kick of heat that can be uncomfortable. Constructive criticism: if a very small point of curry gravy from the mutton curry was served, it would be *chefs kiss* The devilled paneer was perfect - wasn't overly deep fried till moisture was lost (as typically done in restaurants). It was the texture of baked bone marrow - absolutely melt in your mouth - with an aromatic sweet & only slightly spicy sauce. The lovely waitress was an absolute pleasure and welcomed and accomodated my 9 year old who isn't accustomed to this cuisine - who wants to return! The prices were so reasonable. £28.50 for 2 adults and a child - I would return every week if I could. The Sweet lemon juice was such a refreshing palate cleanser. Definitely recommend. Came away feeling content - despite moreishness - unlike the sickly feeling you might sometimes come away from a restaurant with food that's quite rich.

Being a South Indian, I have become a fan of this place to have authentic South Indian food with native taste😋 already visited twice in 10 days! A must visit place to get vanished in the taste!

One of the best tasting meals I have ever had, although the staff was very busy they were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely recommend popdom to all my friends and family. A short wait for food as it was all cooked fresh but it was worth the wait as it was all fantastic!

Need more descriptions on items. If we'd known the rices had poppy seeds and nuts in, we wouldn't have ordered them. If you have allergies make sure you ring them because they don't bother reading the order instructions. Asked for no coriander but instead got more coriander than I've ever seen on a dish. Completely ruined. Prices are insane for what you get. Chapattis £2.50 each and they're unpleasant. Main dishes mediocre at best. Noodles were very nice but that's it. Wouldn't recommend at all

The food is authentic and tastes wonderfully fresh portions are huge! Cannot recommend enough will definitely be ordering again.

So happy to have found this place! The food is exquisite and the service is fantastic. Tried the cauliflower Manchurian, mutton bone curry, chettinad and the porotta bread, among other things. I can't wait to go back again!

This was amazing Indian cuisine / Sri Lankan very tasty and great use of spices. It’s been a while since I’ve tasted food this good and service was great.

Good restaurant with good service. Their starters are really good, do check Gopi manjorian, sambar vada felt average, but their rice dishes & curry are flavourful.

Beautiful little place. Visited while on business last wednesday and will be back every time im up. Poppadums were perfect and fresh, best mango chutney ive ever had and the mutton curry waa stunning. Perfect naan and the pale ale to wash it down was nice. Please visit here if you are in the area.

Just amazing. Visited last night, we usually go to our local Indian but fancied a change and what a great decision that was. The food was outstanding, fresh, hot, tasty and just delicious. Not just a standard Indian; a dimension apart. Service was also brilliant. Thank you so much! We will 1000% be visiting again. And to top all of this off the price was extremely reasonable at £80 for 2 people to enjoy for starters, main, sides and even 2 bottles of wine! This is your sign to get booked in!

My girlfriend went in for a meeting today with the owners & kindly some food was cooked for us, this food was the best Indian food I’ve ever had in my life it was fresh & made properly. Not one for reviews but that was incredible.

Came for the second time to celebrate a birthday after having a lovely experience the first time. Food was excellent - there’s a wide variety of flavours and they will cater to any changes you need. Took a little while to arrive however, understandable as it was quite busy. Staff are friendly as ever and went out of the way to make sure I had a good birthday! Interior is beautiful with good lighting and very nice photos all around. The atmosphere is made perfect with music at the right volume. Will hopefully return.

Been here a few times for dine in and takeaway. The food is amazing; rich, full of flavour, and generous portion sizes. The smell when you walk in makes your belly rumble even if you’re not hungry 🤤☺️ The staff are friendly, welcoming and go the extra mile to make their customers happy. Can’t wait to see their website up and running for online orders, and a delivery service would be an advantage. Dining in feels more casual (which may be their intentions), but by adding table cloths and a few other changes could result in being able to charge more for their food, it certainly deserves a higher price tag. I personally would add a double door/porch to the entrance as it gets rather cold for the diners in the winter every time the door opens. I for sure will be a frequent visitor and highly recommend Pop’Dom.

I didn’t know about this restaurant . My wife had heard about it from her colleagues. And I am so glad she did. Easily one of the best restaurants around hull. Anyone loving south indian style food - this is the place to go. Very nice atmosphere. We had the lamb leg soup and lentil soup - very nice . The dosa was amazing and tried the special biriyani- tasty as well. All food tasted great. But the best by a mile - was the lassi. Tried the sweet lassi - for the 1st time in uk - lassi tasted like lassi . The mango lassi was also very very good . Definitely would recommend anyone to go. The price was surprisingly reasonable . The only slight issue is the restaurant is a bit small - you may need to call and reserve a seat. Overall 10/10. Will visit again definitely and try the other menu items. 😇😇

A different and tasty slant on Indian food

Food was delicious. Just need to improve serving time. Especially at busy times. We had to wait for more than an hour for the food. Otherwise, lovely staff and place.

Went for a meal for the first time and was not disappointed, welcoming and friendly staff, great recomenditions on choice of food which was fresh, tasty, and plenty full. We went for our anniversary and we had a balloon given for it which we got to bring home(thank you that so thoughtful) and to say it was 110% value for money is no understatement. We highly recommend and shall be back, thank you.

Popdom is nice options for any Indian, Pakistani, or shrilankan family..food is awesome...and affordable as compared to other Indian restaurants...its always full when we visit...must try its biryani and mango lassi.. I loved it..!
