The Pig Inn & The Peppered Pig in East Riding of Yorkshire

Very welcoming place to meet friends and lunch.. food great and cakes unbelievable, so difficult to choose. Dog friendly too. We were made most welcome and will definitely be back. Oh those cakes.

The most perfect venue ever! We had our wedding at the peppered pig in February and it was nothing short of absolute perfection! Debbie is such an amazing lady who is kind, personable and professional. She made our experience stress free and enjoyable from day 1! Davina and the other girls who worked our wedding were all amazing, they couldn’t have done more for us or our guests and for this we are truely grateful. The food was 10/10, we had so many compliments from our guests about the quality of the food and many of our guests have returned to the pig since to experience the food again. I knew from the moment we viewed this venue this was going to be where we had our wedding. Debbie and the staff made it so myself and Lewis could enjoy every single second knowing that everything was sorted and going to run smoothly from start to finish. Could not recommend the peppered pig enough it’s an absolutely stunning venue with fantastic staff. Thank you again ☺️

Think carefully what matters to you before booking this venue. I was recently married here, the venue its self is lovely. The lady who does decorations for the place is absolutely worth her weight in gold! She is Amazing! However the management and owners professionalism is shocking, completely over promised and un delivered. I chose the venues exclusive option and they tried to run the wedding with only 2 members of staff plus the manager, the manager is absolutely fantastic whole shes taking your money and selling you the venue but once the final payments are received true colours start to show, asking completely unprofessional and offensive questions, rolling her eyes at us, looking down on ourselves and our guests, shouting and stressing at guests during the dinner service, i could go on..... The food on the wedding day its was disappointing. Undercooked chicken, raw/rock hard cauliflower cheese, brocoli was raw still, roast potatoes and mash were in my opinion frozen/instant however i have since been shouted at at told inexplicably that they are not by the owner. Delays during the wedding breakfast leaving some guests having there dinner so later everyone else had allready eaten what they could. The desserts were delayed by over an hour from the scheduled time and when the "warm" chocolate browning and icecream arrived it was so cold it was almot frozen and you couldnt even get a fork in it. Some of the evening food never even turned up which left guests who had waited for that particular option understandably hungry, with no offer of resolution on the night other than a scotch egg or piece of cake, was refused anything else and told all tge other food was locked away, the hot beef roll option was a slab of cold left over been from dinner dipped in gravy in a dry bread roll, it looked absolutely dismal. Honestly the list could on and on, but i will say the place is lovely and clean, the rooms are great and well equipped. The venue once decorated looks amazing, and the yurt is fantastic! And the breakfast the next day was lovely. The main issues we had were the customer service, the food on the day and the appaling attitude of the manager and the owner, upon tryinh to make a complaint or discuss the issues i was initially ignored, then shouted at and met with complete denial or made out to be a liar. Told to call back and when i tried doing so was told no i cant speak to you today call me back monday, just been pushed from pillar to post, with no offer of resolution as of yet.

We had our wedding back in July and it was literally the best day ever !! Our guests were all taken back at how stunning the place was made to look and commented all day about it being the best wedding they had been to. Our journey started from the Thursday before where Debbie was there on hand to greet us dropping off the first van load of wedding stuff , telling me to set stuff aside where I wanted it and she would get it all sorted but being the control freak I am, it wasn’t going to happen haha , Friday was day 2 van load and setting up .. the staff were there on hand to help , Debbie buzzing about still wanting to take the pressure off me but again me being me and wanting to do stuff .. I left the venue knowing I was in good hands with them !! Wedding Day !! Everything went perfectly Staff were amazing and so friendly with guests nothing was too much !! Debbie made sure our day went smooth and everyone commented how great she was …. Guests loved the cocktail hour and my now husband had special treatment ( they plumbed his favourite John Smiths into the yurt ) Food was 5* at the wedding breakfast and the pizzas at night i was told we’re fab but I was too busy dancing to eat … I did manage some left over wedding cake the next day though … all in all the best day ever , and I recommend it to everyone looking for a venue the breakfast the next day is great for your hangover ! Just called for a short break and drink. Fantastic and friendly staff and very dog friendly.

We didn't stay on the room's but the place is really nice the service was good on the food side I found there wasn't enough bar staff but that's just my opinion.

Visited today after mixed reviews from friends but wanted to try for myself. The setting is lovely and cosy and the staff were fine. However, the food was very average especially for the price. Two of us had quiche and it was microwaved leaving it soggy and put on top of salad which is a bit shame. The bread on my sandwich was cheapy and the whole thing was bland. The fries and the coffee was nice though.

Service as usual was fantastic, we both had the lamb shank, well it was beautiful, even took some home as wanted a sweet , came with mash, 4 veg and a to die for minted gravy 5/5 🌟

The Pig Mac burger is phenomenal and the staff are very friendly and efficient!

Food took ages to be brought to table, once it arrived everyones chips were cold.food presentation was very poor

We visited here for dinner, first time ever been here & it was stunning. Great atmosphere beautiful surrounding seating inside & out. Food was second to none, all home made & very tasty. They have a menu & also a specials board. Staff are very friendly. Will definately be returning xx

IAbsolutely amazing from start to finish... reasonable price for the quality if the food. Been with family and friends and not had less than excellent experience yet! Highly recommend

Went for Sunday dinner ,will not be back . Everything just had no taste ,meat ,veg, leek an kale was a disappointment not creamy enough, roast potatoes felt like they had been cooked for a week needed a steak knife to cut through them . Yorkshire puds were doughy . On a positive note the mash potato was lovely an tasty . The staff were very friendly an helpful.

Wow! What a find this super place is. Beautifully stylish interior and very welcoming. The staff are lovely, very friendly and super efficient. The menu has a great range of dishes. I chose steak and ale pie, home made chips and mushy peas plus extra gravy. It was piping hot and delicious. My friend had the vegetarian pie which was leek and potato in a cream sauce, pastry lid, mash and good vegetarian gravy. It was all beautifully cooked and we struggled to finish it but were determined to try! Lovely wine and the whole meal was sensibly priced. We'll definitely be back.

Debbie and the team recently held a celebration for my mum after she recently passed. They dealt with everything for me so I didn’t have to worry and it was perfect. The food was lovely, the yurt was gorgeous and I couldn’t have asked for a better send off for my mum. Thank you all for a lovely celebration.

Comfy, clean and friendly with great food.

I had been a loyal , frequent customer to The Peppered Pig and Hotel until today. I had wished to celebrate my birthday with family. My husband and I , my son (Consultant surgeon cross 3 hospitals)My daughter-in-law,2 granddaughters, and my cousin (a world-travelling business man) all have celebrated birthdays and stayed at The Peppered Pig Inn. I had booked a table giving specific details of the location of the table for 4, four weeks previously. We arrived for our booking 10 minutes early to find the table had been allocated to another family. I was told that the restaurant had recently re-numbered the tables.The table I had requested was now 5 not 4.No notes taken to explain my specific requested table location , though I had most definitely given specific details. We were offered a small , cramped table with church pews.When I requested a possible alternative I was told the other tables were reserved for other obviously more priority customers. I have recently had spinal surgery.So could not tolerate a church pew! We left as we were not given any genuine offer of a solution or an apology. We did not matter. Obviously everyone else did. Later in the afternoon I rang to make a complaint to Debbie the 'Manager' /Owner.No apology at all just a flippant comment 'Accidents happen.' I had taken a day off work to celebrate.They ruined the day for me. We will never return again as a family.Diabolical treatment. Unfortunately I have been given a £50 gift-vouch to eat there.I am quite sure they will not re-imburse us,even though we will not eat there again.S o showing their true colours as only being interest in money greed. They have no interest in customer satisfaction. I would never recommend them to anyone agai

Spur of the moment, breakfast with family. Really pretty location. Super breakfast menu with dishes to suit most appetites and tastes. Four diners £60 with drinks, I call that reasonable. Would definitely recommend and would return in a jiffy.

The restaurant is clean and smart, the menu was great and for those of us who need gluten free options, there was a good choice to choose from. The fish and chips were lovely, and the portion was huge. The GF brownie was moist inside with the perfect crunch. Breakfast GF options are also available if you stay over, the scrambled eggs are freshly made and super creamy. The only suggestion for improvement is to look at stocking some of the local Yorkshire beers, that happen to be gluten free (rather than imported GF Peroni), for example from World Top Brewery or Hambleton Brewery - the stuff that everyone would drink, so there's no risk of it going off, but us GF folk can also enjoy. The bedroom was really spacious, good sized desk for doing some work, very comfortable king sized bed, and I even had a roll top bath in the bedroom. The missus would have been in heaven. The big walk in rain shower was great in the morning too. I love personalised and friendly customer service too, credit to the team here. Next time my work projects bring me down to this part of the world, the Pig Inn will be my first choice to stay again.
