Driffield Fish & Chips Shop in East Riding of Yorkshire

Fish and chips are £8.60. I always ask for lightly cooked Fish to avoid it being crispy, nothing is too much trouble. Queues go down quickly, scraps and wooden forks are free, boxes are extra. Stuarts of Driffield is 5 star. Look no further.

Great food really nice fish very tasty even wrapped in paper which is a rarity in itself these days not in a stupid box where fish is cut down to fit in the box. Just right

Driffield Fish & Chip Shop is a nice chip shop. The staff are very friendly and there is a good choice on the menu. They don't sell patties, probably too far from Hull, for the iconic local dish. They have sausages and spam as well as the fish. There was plenty of parking when i visited.

Heard great things about the fish and chips so gave it a try. Ordered regular fish n chips, an OAP portion, curry, peas and a fish fritter. Staff were great, can’t fault very friendly and efficient. Chips were spot on as were gravy and curry sauce. Fish fritter the potato was rock hard. The two fish we had were the most disappointing part of the whole thing. Very thin, much smaller than expected. Very soggy batter and left quite a long lasting unpleasant aftertaste. Just shy of 20 quid for that little lot, won’t be going back

Tried fish fritter and it was most disgusting thing iv eaten, bearly any fish inside,potato still raw and batter was so hard like it was cooked a week ago Some days are good there but even chips were awfull today, waste of money really dissapointed espeacially when money is tight and treat to chippy is a rare thing The consistency is not same as a month ago iv had just fish and it was best ever

Best chippy in driffield, Rachel and the rest of the staff are great. I have read some reviews that were bad, it I haven't had a bad meal yet. 5 stars all the way, keep up the great service.

gutted...dropped by for fish and chips tonight after long days graft..spent £8.50 got it home sat down to eat and you could smell the fish was off soon as opened the wrapping ,the smell was rank ,sour fishy smell and taste ..disgusting and I've never seen batter like this rank load of trash ..also the chips tasted not very nice due to the old taste of burnt of what ever they fry it in...I feel that disgusted I'm taking it back on Tuesday ...and contacting council food standards...never again will I use stuarts of driffield again. 0/10...£8.50 for old off fish..

Great chippie, quick service and tasty fish and chips

For the first time ever I had a bad experience at Stuart's. Was gutted that the Haddock and chips was still full price, but the fish were tiny. Batter was soggy and the chips weren't really enough to go round. A real shame. Will try main Street next time.

This is the worst fish and chips l have ever had the staff were rude when l asked them for the change which wasn’t offered. We through the whole lot in the bin after tasting it

By far the nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time :) decent portions. There was two of us and we got a fish each, a bag of chips to share and some peas and there was more than enough.

Yeah solid 5er, what would you say? Not a bad experience overall, the lass behind the counter had a right bunda! Really inspired me to eat all of my meal !!! The best chippy in Driffield, in my opinion. Perfectly cooked food at very reasonable prices. The staff are always polite, friendly and helpful. A massive thumbs up from me 😁 👍

Fish was overcooked and hideously greasy. Scampi specifically requested as the only dairy/egg free option were put in a bag with a large scoop of fish batter scraps (not asked for) so my wife - breastfeeding a dairy/egg intolerant baby - couldn't eat them! Very disappointed.

The fryer temperature is too low and as a result the batter on the fish is drenched with fat. The chips are average, when not filled with the oil that leaks from the fish but the allergy awareness is woeful. Having been specifically asked which items were dairy free and egg free, the only option (scampi, in case you're wondering) was crammed into a bag full of batter bits, rendering it unsafe for me to eat as these stuck into the breadcrumb coating. No one enjoyed their meals; if this is the standard of fish and chips in Driffield, we won't be bothering when we're away from home in Doncaster. Send your staff to Whitby's in Donny to see how proper fish and chips are done, with proper awareness and care for allergy sufferers!

My regular fish and chip shop. Tonight at 6pm the queue was out the door and down the street. Reflecting on its popularity. We had first and chips both of which were as good as you find anywhere. Can thoroughly recommend..

You can eat fish, pies or chicken with chips and they are all amazing.

Terrific place. Clean, service good and the food utterly delicious. Can get busy teatime Friday and Saturday. I'd give it six stars if I could.
