The best restaurants in Beverley Rural East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Have not been to the Dog and Duck for quite a few years, purely due to transport issues. Went for lunch with friends this week, what a really good experience. Food was excellent, a superb choice of drinks, service was professional friendly and organised. It was warm, clean and we could have a good talk because there wasn’t any loud blaring music. I have now recommended this Pub to my friends and family. Keep up the excellent standard you have obviously set.

Stayed with my partner at the weekend to attend a gig at the pub. Great food served promptly by friendly staff. Excellent choice of beers and ciders. Worth noting that the lodge where the accommodation is located is up quite a steep hill so people with mobility issues are advised to check before booking. Rooms are simple but modern. Very clean and well presented with a very comfortable bed. Fast public wifi throughout the pub and lodge. A really nice place in a very pretty village. Recommended.

Lovely pub with excellent food. We were staying near by and they recommended the pub. The food was all very delicious with a great choice and great friendly service. They are also dog friendly and only take a certain amount of dogs in each area which was great for our dog.

Rude young man behind bar more interested in chatting with his mates than serving (6pm Sunday) and then £1.50 for soda water…rip off! Cold and damp and no atmosphere! Won’t be back much much better pubs in town

Let’s turn a corner from our most recent experience of this place: It’s so sad to see a pub, a eating place and social centre slip so badly, My wife and I brought old friends here for a midweek evening meal and how poor the whole place felt, dirty, cold, unkempt and even the public toilets provided really run down. This pub needs more than just a bit of TLC; The whole place needs to turn a corner

Lovely pub. Nice atmosphere. Myself and my husband always have the carvery and it has never disappointed. The staff are very friendly, it's always busy so I recommend you book.

We went on a sunny morning and sat in the garden.....we thought it was very welcoming and food was good and coffee was hot....(been to chain of coffee shops in past who serve luke warm coffee!!!!!) Very pleasant....

Had lunch myself and my family, food was terrible and cold. The owner “Craig” was very abrupt. A lady called Nicola was very rude also, please AVOID!!!

Great little country pub, had a lovely family meal, great options and vegan options too, service was brilliant and the meal was gorgeous! Happy family all round! We will be back soon

Not sure why the mixed reviews here to be honest. Just returned from an excellent Sunday roast, firs time at the veneue. Service was exceptionally good, very friendly, super efficient, and enjoyed every bite of our roasts and deserts! Will definitely return.

Can not fault the watering can cafe and bistro. The food is great, have had both breakfasts and lunches and are always delicious. Quick service and friendly staff. Highly recommended

had a lovely night with the family at the local and thought id treat myself. if you want to DINE at hell on earth this is the place to be. waited an hour and half for a single chicken and rice. the service was terrible. to my surprise they kept burping and farting in and around food. i looked in the back at the bloke who was making the food continuously kept re arraigning his trousers and to what looked liked he was having a cheeky scratch with no gloves while handling the food. They were also listening to 'SKEEYEE by SexyRed' & sang all the words (including the n-word) while my young daughter was present, who now is now repeating what she's heard, she's non stopped called the dog racial slurs since getting home. My other son was stranded at the bottom of establishment due to the lack of accessibility. My child who had to sit on the floor due to lack of chairs available and the owner ridiculed him & mentioned his 'vast waistline' and kept calling him 'greedy belly' and shoved a chicken ball into my sons mouth. Then, as I went to pay (CASH ONLY btw) I didn't have any cash, so the owner launched my fried rice over the counter & ridiculed my son one again.
