New Leven Chippy and Takeaway in East Riding of Yorkshire

had a lovely night with the family at the local and thought id treat myself. if you want to DINE at hell on earth this is the place to be. waited an hour and half for a single chicken and rice. the service was terrible. to my surprise they kept burping and farting in and around food. i looked in the back at the bloke who was making the food continuously kept re arraigning his trousers and to what looked liked he was having a cheeky scratch with no gloves while handling the food. They were also listening to 'SKEEYEE by SexyRed' & sang all the words (including the n-word) while my young daughter was present, who now is now repeating what she's heard, she's non stopped called the dog racial slurs since getting home. My other son was stranded at the bottom of establishment due to the lack of accessibility. My child who had to sit on the floor due to lack of chairs available and the owner ridiculed him & mentioned his 'vast waistline' and kept calling him 'greedy belly' and shoved a chicken ball into my sons mouth. Then, as I went to pay (CASH ONLY btw) I didn't have any cash, so the owner launched my fried rice over the counter & ridiculed my son one again.

Wouldn’t order from here again unless I was severely starving, from my last order the pizza came soggy, undercooked and the toppings were clearly not cooked, the chips were not made fresh as they were basically rubber, the noodles came tasteless and off. Lastly all that ate became ill not long after.

£45 on food an what a waste of money 4 types of meals and not one was nice from the garlic sauce to the fish I would advise no one to order from here from the phone call to the delivery 0/10 from me absolutely disgusting 🤮

We decided to go and collect the pizza because of the reviews. The pizza was very nice and the service was good so glad we went.

If this place concentrated on just providing one type of cuisine it may be better, but they try to do it all- Chinese, pizza, fish and chips, kebabs, burgers, etc. The quality of everything is pretty poor, but they have a captive audience. There are no alternatives in the vicinity. Deliveries can take hours to arrive as they prioritise walk ins and collections, but I’ve personally waited 45minutes in the takeaway for a pizza and burger. The pizza was ready in 10minutes and was sat on top of the pizza oven for over half an hour while I waited for them to get round to cooking the burger. Generally, the Chinese food is ok and the pizza is edible, but quality is far from great. I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re desperate!

I would not recommend this place for fish and chips. I spoke to someone who was picking up a Chinese meal they'd ordered and asked if they'd been here before and he said that he had and the meal had been nice. I didn't like the fish at all and the chips had a strange greasy taste. Definitely not a place I'd return to.

Very good food thanks I order chinese food chicken chow main and some curry beef and chicken both very good

Where to start, the lack of flexibility when ordering something from the set menu, the fact they forgot the chip spice seasoning, the fact the chips were dry, old & cold or the fact the beef chow mein tasted like dish water / soapy and both parties that had this were very ill the next morning. the lack of curry sauce on the pineapple fried rice meant it was dry and the lack of any pineapple in the pineapple fried rice really finished me off. My opinion would be to never trust a takeaway that does chinese, kebabs, pizzas and fish & chips, they don’t specialise in anything but they do butcher multiple cuisines.

Visited her many times while on holiday. The whole family enjoyed the Chinese, I liked the pizza (with extra cheese!) Fish and chips not so great Ordered over the phone and sometimes on collection we found it a bit disorganised, however, for a small place it’s good

Absolutely awful all round. Waited 2 hours for the food to be delivered which when it was it was cold. Haddock bites and chips were like rubber. Pizza was cold, chow mien and ribs were a total disappointment. It is hit and miss with this take away. Sometimes you can hit lucky and food arrives on time and is tasty or 8/10 times it is what happened today. Seems like very poor management to effectively manage an evenings work.

Our food took 2 hours to arrive and once it did half our food order was wrong. We ordered half a duck and pancakes and a handful of meat arrived cold, all our dishes had little to no meat in them. Awful takeaway, wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

We've just had a takeaway from here this teatime . Chow mein and chicken noodles,both meals piping hot and very enjoyable , reasonably priced and not long to wait . BUT ,the chips , totally overcooked ,cold hard and inedible. Would order again but definitely without chips .

We use New Leven Chippy quite often, the food is gorgeous and really tasty. We have never has a bad meal. We've tried their Chinese, pizzas and kebabs. I'd go as far as saying the best fried rice round here. Its perfect when there is a group of you and you all want different things such a wide variety of food to choose from... perfect.

I know its almost a year since we ordered from here but they weren't on TripAdvisor when we ordered at the time! I still hold a massive grudge against this place because when we placed the order over the phone the person was actually quite pleasant and friendly, when the food was delivered the bill was £7 more than what was actually agreed over the phone and I think the delivery driver knew this because he sent his I presume daughter to deliver the order to the door and collect the cash, when I questioned this he would not come out if the car to discuss this! I phoned the takeaway up myself and the same person basically started giving alot of grief and was not budging on the price that was agreed in the first place. I felt sorry for the little girl and just payed so she could just go because it wasn't fair on her and the delivery driver needed to grow a pair! Also the food took over an hour and half to come when when I was told it would be 45 mins and the food was also cold! So basically the customer service is shocking, the food was cold and they rip you off so its safe to say I will never ever be ordering from here again even if the food was free!
