Made a special trip out to visit this bar on Sunday the 30th of April, outside notices stated open till 12.00am, arrived at 10pm to be turned away as finished serving at ten, no explanation given so don't know if the opening times are incorrect or if there was some other reason, we won't be returning.

Just had a stunning meal at this gorgeous Italian, the food was exemplary and the waitress was just outstanding. She kept everything moving entirely on her own dealing with a very busy floor of bookings and walk ins. Nothing was too much trouble and all with a lovely smile on her face. Lovely place, outstanding food and outstanding service,, will definitely be back

The food was fantastic especially the soups we had for the starter. The chef was lovely and came out and spoke to us to make sure we were enjoying our food, she even put little carrot hearts on the food for Valentines. The man at the bar was nice but didn’t tell us we had to order at the bar which caused some confusion, I think it should just be full table service in the restaurant. The restaurant was a bit cold too as only the fire in the pub was on. But overall a great village pub, great value, lovely vibes and delicious food.
Really lovely small fish and chip place that has some really quality food and very attentive staff. The home-made sauces that are available are something to make sure to grab - the burger sauce especially. Yum.
We booked this restaurant over 4 months ago, only to turn up to find that it was closed!!!!!
We had over an hours drive to the restaurant, as it had been recommended.
The booking was for a special occasion, celebrating a friends birthday.
We received notification of the booking from the booking agent the evening before as well as on the morning of the lunch booking, so there was no notification saying that the restaurant was closed.
When we arrived there was a printed note on the door saying that there was a problem with the roof so it was going to be closed for a short while.
There was no evidence of any building work and the tables were still set up for dining, so it seemed a very strange situation.
I telephoned the restaurant and the call was transferred to an answer machine. I have still not received any feedback, which is very rude,
All pre-booked diners should have been notified of the closure, as this is the only polite way to explain the situation.
I have also checked the restaurant website (as I was planning to Email), and the website domain is no longer available.
I can only assume that the restaurant is now permanently closed.
Very unprofessional and rude!!

***UPDATE ***
We tried the big Romanian combo, and the papanasi, honestly the best food ive had all year, hands down the best place to eat in Yorkshire, the littles and romanian sausages are just incredible, cooked so well and so delicious and juicy. This place is a must!
If
I could vote 100 stars, I would.
The absolute best kebab I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve tried everywhere in Barnsley, and even Sheffield and Helen’s is unbeatable.
The people that work there/ own it are also wonderful and polite people. Everything tastes so so fresh and the meat quality is absolutely premium and you will not find another food establishment in the area with kebab like it.
Thank you again. Next weekend we will be trying more from the menu 😁❤️
If they put their prices online I would have not visited. An Americano and a ham and cheese toastie nearly twelve pounds! For that price I am used to choosing what type of bread it comes with? Sourdough or granary etc but it came on some bread that was just meh, a small handful of crisps and a rocket salad. Nothing special, the coffee was very weak IMO and tasted rather drip coffee. The cakes did look delicious but again the prices were astronomical. Perhaps they’re specialists and cater to a niche market? If you’re planing to go with two or three friends expect to part with fifty to sixty pounds for a coffee and/ or cake or toastie. I didn’t notice how much the jacket potatoes were but I’ll have a guess they’re not reasonably priced.

The service in this cafe is impeccable. Today I was served by Michelle and Jude (if I'm not mistaken) who helped me choose my favorite drink for my needs. I recommend with all my heart. Wonderful staff.
Food was ok. The ‘man’ serving is extremely ignorant- he knew I was waiting in the doorway with children and a baby in the pram next to the steps as it’s not easily accessible, yet he decided to serve everyone else that was walking in front of me ignoring the fact I was there. It wasn’t a busy time I was very visible and I’m not sure what he would have done with a person in a wheelchair who couldn’t access the shop! I would have left without ordering but a lady said something to him and he rushed serving me.
