Reasonable food, friendly staff, decent prices. Way more green & bruised chips than ever before which is a bit sad, the chips that are edible are ok but it's a shame that there's so many bad ones, I don't know if they've changed the oil they fry in but the chips have a odd taste now.

Nice people love food right price

Purchased the line caught haddock with chips and mushy peas. Unfortunately I was disappointed with it, I had more batter than fish, the fish was tasteless and seemed to be very “watery” and the bottom of the fish was very mushy and didn’t look appetising at all (see picture) so I had to leave it. The chips contained a high percentage of scrappy chips so in all not a great meal from this establishment.

After arriving at the chip shop very close to closing, myself and 14 of my friends arrived placing lots of different orders, including gluten free, the staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious and the portions were more than generous. Great visit

Absolutely rushbish, the food is nice but the staff are rude and are disrespectful, keeps changing opening times and even when they say they are open they aren’t and won’t let you ring or order online, pathetic business, pointless even being here.

The food is amazing , however the staff are not friendly and are miserable. Don’t seem to know much about being nice and friendly to customers almost like you’re an inconvenience. Would recommend ordering online for this reason

As always fish and chips are amazing. But they also do a nice cheesy chip wrap and a selection of burgers. If it’s busy (Friday night) you get a beeper which makes it easier so you can wait outside.

Made a special journey for a chippy tea after a word of mouth recommendation from a local resident. Lived up to the recommendation.

Top quality and fresh - everytime

We tried market hill fisheries for the first time and we really enjoyed the fish and chips, the staff were really nice and the shop was immaculate inside, I think this is the fish shop we will be using in the future, we wish we had known about it years ago

First time we been here come all way from Scunthorpe. Well worth the visit .very busy but was worth the wait .will be bk again

First of all please note Market Hill Fisheries are in Winterton ( 5 miles from Scunthorpe) Just had fish, chips and peas from there for our tea and they were simply magnificent ( as always) Ryan and his team are brilliant. We visit Whitby on a regular basis and if that meal had been served up in a top notch restaurant there we would have been well pleased. Fantastic !!

Fortunately for us this is our local fish and chip shop. The food is always excellent. Ryan’s fish and chips set the standard by which we judge any others we have, although we very rarely order fish and chips when eating out as we know they won’t be anywhere near as good.

Expensive and small portions, avoid !

Really disappointed, ordered a large haddock and chips and while the chips were okay, the fish was shocking, dry, tasteless and rock hard,

Very greasy, plus fish wasn't very good plus the portions were minute...

Having recently moved to the area we called after visiting Barton wow they certainly are the best fish & chips we had haddock so chunky and crispy batter not at all greasy and lovely chips we have been several times in the past few weeks I tried the homemade fish cakes they are just delicious I am going to work through the menu I think I will try the homemade pie next time 😋

Dreadful, fish was the driest I've ever eaten, must have been stood in the warmer most of the day, it had quite an odd taste as well. I wondered if the chips were the cheap frozen ones as well. These best fish and chip shop contests are a farce, if you look on the pics they show a nice wooden fork but was given a clear plastic fork, never ever again, urghhh!

Always a great chippy tea or lunch. Homemade Fishcakes are spot on as my favourite. Staff are nice and friendly so if you're in the area it's worth the stop

Called into Winterton fisheries at 16.45pm, on our way home from Barton upon Humber on Friday. We ordered haddock and chips twice, my husband noticed how many checks for orders were on the counter ( a lot!) he was given a buzzer and went and waited outside, less than 10 minutes later we were sat on a bench eating the best fish and chips we've had, the fish was white and chunky, the batter was golden and crisp and the chips were spot on!..what an absolute treat. We will definitely be recommending Winterton Fisheries to friends and family.

Great chip shop, the best in the area by far, very clean and great food. Online ordering or walk in service. The food is much better quality then other take always in the area so you are confident that when you order you will be satisfied. Take great care in the packaging and customer service.

Excellent fisheries. They have detailed information of where the catch comes from- including the name of the trawlers- displayed! The haddock is particularly nice.

This Winterton chippy is superb, we had quite splendid fish and chips yesterday from there yesterday for our tea after quite a busy day. Superb. We Wintertonians of a certain vintage always refer to it as the 'middle chippy' but now there are only two....

We had fish and chips. From here today. The fish was freshly cooked as was the chips. More than generous portions. Would definitely recommend.
