Ordered a pizza and a massive portion of chips. They put the chips on top of the pizza so obviously it was all stuck to the lid! Took it back and was told it wasn't their fault and that I must have dropped it or tipped it!!!!

They serve the best pizzas for miles 10 out of 10 Highly recommend

The first time I have been disappointed , chips were cold and all the little scrap ends were in my bag.

I am absolutely APPALLED! with this service. My boyfriend loves this chippy! Yet at 7pm last night, he was craving chips. He went to go order a bag of chips, no sauces, nothing. just PLAIN chips, He came home, ate them up, and next thing you know, hes stuck on the toilet, next thing you then know his bum was singing the national anthem loud and proud! I am very disgusted by this place and need to find out what caused him to need the toilet so bad! Never ordering again! I would rate this 0 stars if i could!

Absolutely shocking service. AVOID. Ordered our food and was told an hour for delivery. Waited an hour and 10 mins, rang for an update to be told they haven't cooked it yet! The "manager" then started laughing down the phone at us after we chased AGAIN ...

Not one to write reviews on places but I was baffled to see people saying this is the best fish and chips shop. Only popped in for by default, for a battered sausage chips and curry sauce. Had to smash the batter of the sausage because it was cold and solid, without the batter don’t know what sausage it was but it was vile. the chips in fairness were piping hot because they’ve been cooked over and over, couldn’t find one chip with potato in they were like fried cardboard almost chipped a tooth. Now I’m not tight and ill eat almost anything, it was only £4.50 but by far the worst £4.50 I’ve ever spent. On the upside, the curry sauce was spot on just didn’t have anything to eat with it haha

Excellent, we use them every week and have always been good food.

Food was over half an hour late and still hadn’t left the store so ended up cancelling.

Have a take out every Friday. The food is usually excellent but not tonight. we order the same every Friday , 3 Fish and a burger. Burger was great as usual but the fish were dreadful. The batter was rock hard and hardly any fish inside and what bit of fish there was , was as dry as a bone. So disappointed as its usually lovely. Too expensive to throw away.

Avoid at all cost. Over 1&1/2 hours still no delivery, takes ages for the phone to be answered this place is a joke.

Ordered at 6.30 still no food for kids at 8.20 called again to find out they lost our order it's not even been made absolutely shocking 1st time and last time shocking service avoid at all cost

My partner ordered us food from here this evening. They told him to collect it in half an hour. My partner turned up 5-10 mins early, got it home (less than a 5 minute drive) and it was stone cold....To the point where the cheese on our chips didn't even go soft, let alone melt. The garlic bread was burnt and cold and I ordered a chicken kebab that was luke warm. I had a couple of bites but didn't want to risk eating anymore with it being poultry. We definitely won't be ordering from them again.

I've given this place too many chances and won't use again. Forgotten parts of order on more than one occasion, food is nothing special, and delivery times are consistently ridiculous.

absolutely shocking - ordered & paid online at 7.30pm , asked for earliest delivery possible & given time of 8.45 pm. rang at 9.05pm - spoke to Sorry (assume that's her name as kept saying I'm Sorry ) & was told she'd ask if my order could be sent on the next delivery along with another order !! the more i asked where my order was, why it was late & what the problem was the more she kept saying I'm Sorry ... no customer service whatsoever. wouldnt speak to the owner either then said it was my fault the order was delayed because i rang to ask why it was nearly half an hour late - i did point out my speaking to her wasnt the reason it hadnt been sent earlier, wasnt the reason it wasnt cooked or delivered ... food arrived just under 2 hrs after ordering , no apology from the driver whatsoever. the menu needs re-writing - under the heading of Fish & Chips , you cant actually buy any Fish at all. Pizza labelled as Prosciutto (trading standards take note of misleading advertising)- hmmm, it really was bog standard pizza ham strips. clearly in a much lower league , taste and appearance wise, to that served by Nick Nairn at Port of Menteith .. see photos ! (Nicks on the right with proper proscuitto )

(Chips) were mostly burnt scraps, fish batter was burnt with undercooked fish inside and my partners pies were frozen in the middle. For the prices they charge I was ultimately disappointed and certainly will not be returning, £20 in the bin basically.

Serving great food especially the Calzone's, the donner meat is very good and service is exceptional.

Had a delivery tonight fantastic have used in the before and had problems with the order been wrong but tonight was excellent could not fault at all.

Food is OK(?) but not all staff are sticking to the Covid rules by not wearing a mask. If you are having chips only order 1 (one) portion, even if you are feeding 4, they really do over face you and even if you ask for a small portion you will have enough to feed the street!

Ridiculously large portions of chips and fab quality.

1 of the best pizzas I've had in a long time as working on new Holland level crossing for the next month and a half I will definitely be ordering again and recommend u to my work colleagues

Delivery's abit slow but cheap food

Served nothing. Got my order and wrong even after telling the guy 7 times what I wanted. I want event a big order. £25 for 3 mini fish and chips and a sausage chips. Waited 40 mins. Received 3 large fish and chips and one mini instead. Wouldn’t serve pizza nor kebab even though it was on the menu. Awful

Super quality fish and chips and plenty of them too! The Kebab meat was plentiful. Service friendly and efficient. When we're back this way again we'll definitely be back.

Poor fish and chips ! Chips had been reheated and soggy, fish had little batter and poor quality batter, although the haddock itself was actually not bad. Mushy peas runny ! Shame as this could have been so good but would not recommend it and certainly won’t go back

The food is excellent here and always feesh but the wait time and disorganisation is what let's it down.

Always pleasant staff and great food. The salad is kept separate to the kebab meat which stops it getting soggy.

We were not impressed at all. The chips were scrappy and the fish was flat with hardly any fish spam fritter tasted like German sausage so daughter would not eat. Waste of £10. No stars

I arrived at 13.50 on Saturday and, realising they were to close at 14.00 due to the level of cleaning underway, turned to leave. However they turned the frier back on and cooked me large haddock and chips. Service like this is hard to find but goes a long way; hence this review. Quality of food was good too.

We were told that we would be waiting 30 minetes for our food which is fine beacsue it's fresh. However, as the takeaway got busier, our food was not being given to us. We knew our food was ready and boxed up because we could see it and we were told "yes that is your food". So it took an extra 15 minutes waiting for someone just to pass us our food that's was READY and let us pay. I'm never going back there again.

The fish and everything else is absolutely super, however, the chips are AWFUL!! Obviously cheap as it's mainly 'ends and they don't stay warm. The staff are all brilliant, really friendly great service too i just wish they'd get decent chips and offset the extra cost by giving more sensible portion sizes: we always get far too many even though we ask for less, and they always get thrown away!

Best local takeaway great pizzas

Choosing to visit Barrow chippy for our tea last night was the best decision we could have made as the chip shop we used in Barton the nearest town 3 miles apart last week was a disaster. As we only eat Haddock that was our order along with chips and mushy peas, we could not believe our eyes at the size of our fish they were enormously large, better described as whale n chips , it was beautifully cooked , moist and fresh and the batter was delicious too, a mountain of chips ( we ordered one portion) we couldn't eat them all , but they were cooked to perfection too, real mushy peas too. We won't be going anywhere else for our chippy takeaway.

We often buy fish and chips from here, excellent menu for pizzas as well. Good family deals very polite friendly people.

Went to barrow fish and chips for a easy tea..was helpful and didn’t wait too long very friendly and not too expensive.premises very clean and food was good.

If your a hungry horse then you'll not be dissatisfied, bags of chips in your bag of chips, not over greasy, however everything seems to be cooked to order so service is slow but certainly not the worst in the world

I’m a fish and chip snob!!!! The fish and chips here are great!!! Yes you have a wait because it’s freshly cooked but great quality fish and chips! Don’t change what you’re doing!!! Only moan would be that the fish would benefit from draining a little longer

Moved to goxhill and already this is my number one place to order from. Really friendly staff and the food is lovely Ordered a kebab and the owner did me French fries too, the portion sizes are generous and it tastes really good too Even did my French fries and put them in fish and chip paper as requested to prevent them getting soggy lol Highly recommended

This is the only fish and chip shop in this area but fortunately it has quite an extensive menu including pizzas and kebabs. The staff were friendly and our fish and chips were good.

The fish is cooked to order. This is done to minimise waste, which is understandable, but it means you end up waiting a considerable time. From my point of view, the fish batter isn't light and fluffy, its rather hard and over cooked. The standard chip portion is gigantic, with a gigantic price tag of £1.50, by the time you've added mushy peas, ( which are good ) , the lot comes to £6. Gone are the days when fish and chips was a cheap meal. But I suppose if you put it in perspective of purchasing a big Mac it offers a tasty alternative.

Placed an order for sausage and chips twice and a fishcake, the lady at the counter wrote down my order and I took a seat. It seemed strange that other people were getting their orders before me when they arrived later. After 30 minutes of waiting I was set to leave empty handed and commented on how long I had been waiting to find out that my order had been forgotten about. Will go elsewhere next time.

We were camping nearby and instead of using the firepit, we decided to have a take-away. So glad we chose this chippy in Barrow as it proved to be not only inexpensive but the food was very well cooked. The haddock I had was fresh and coated in crispy batter and my partner's double scampi was delicious. All cooked to order, so it's worth the wait!

Never had so much food for the money! Really good portion sizes, cooked very well. Will be going back to sample other parts of the extensive menu soon .
