Kirton Lindsey Fish Bar in North Lincolnshire

Since our village chippy has closed we gave Kirton a try. Quiet when I went on a Sat afternoon but fish was good, batter was crispy and not too oily. The chips were ok too. Decent fish and chips.

Hit & miss. We're local to this shop & as such would like to use it often, unfortunately the quality of the food has proven to be so hit & miss, that it's difficult to justify continuing to support it. Tonight's issue was over-cooked chips & strange tasting mushy peas. We've previously encountered small portions of fish, greasy chips & the order being cold. These issues are usually met with an apology, however we are at the point now that the inconsistency has crossed to consistency of poor quality.

My first visit for a while after Hibaldstow closed and was very pleasantly surprised. Served by 2 local lads who were very friendly and cheerful. Great to see the fish was cooked to order. Very impressed.

The chips was not nice tonight a lot off bad in them and did not taste nice at all

Best kebab we've eaten since radwans in Lincoln. OMG....so delicious! Going to make our visits regularly. Absolutely brilliant, no other kebabs compared.

Enjoyed the food nice staff and a free lolly pop for my grandson.😁 what more can you ask for 😁😁

Served at end of the day it must of been leftovers . Large fish very small and overcooked Chips wasnt fresh Curry sauce was excellent

The worse over expensive fish n chips I have had for a long time. The usual owner was not there. Thur 30th May. Waited 25 mins for overcooked fish a d double cooked chips. What a disgrace. You have just lost customers. Mixed kebab was OK. £28 for fish, chips n peas. A mixed kebab and chips. Bye, bye

We buy fish and chips from here from time to time as a take away. The fish batter is perfectly crisp and just the right thickness. Fish pieces are generous and a very large serving of chips is dished out. The chips are fine. We recommend this chippy.

Absolutely smashing place - brilliant service with a smile and the fish and chips were top tier, super fresh and tasty…. Not a bad word to say!! Even the horses loved it 🙈

Fresh cooked food, fish excellent chips, cooked to perfection staff friendly. Nothing was an issue. Will most certainly come back next time. I am past here. Unfortunately I live over an hour away

I have to say the food is always good from here As is the service but tonight we had a hiccup the order arrived and part of it was wrong obviously I rang to complain for want of a better word while I expected some sort of reaction the one I got was a suprise they were apologetic and polite the mistaken part of the order was delivered within 20 mins ...... so I do believe in credit where due So thank you

my local chip shop. very welcoming, lovely staff, food is always fantastic and served hit and fresh. even when you walk in, you get asked if you want any fish and they batter it so it is cooked 100% fresh as possible. gotta love my local.

We drove from Gainsborough to get fish and chips for the family. We got home to find the chips weren’t cooked at all, we rang the shop and who I believe was the manager answered. She was kind enough to deliver to Gainsborough which they don’t usually do, and said feedback had been given to staff. But unfortunately the second lot again weren’t cooked. The food just isn’t worth the money I’m afraid. Manager is lovely but new cooks needed.

The fish was fantastic along with the battered sausage and Chinese style Curry. I didn't have chips as they have on occasions been the thing that's spoiled an otherwise fantastic meal. There's a large choice of different foods and drinks for all the family.

Really lovely fish and chips I enjoyed them very much. I have eaten the food from here many times normally as I pass through Kirton.

Pretty good though not the finest we've ever had, reasonable prices and friendly staff, enough room for two or three people to stand, socially distanced, while waiting briefly for orders to be prepared. Will visit again as it's 3 minutes' drive from our son's home in the town.

hey sorry , wouldn’t normally complain, but very disappointed tonight. to be told loudly my card was declined when in fact it was input error was embarrassing. then when we got the order one item was missing and we were given an extra tub of peas we hadn’t ordered, specifically asked for salt and vinegar and didn’t get that. the girl on the phone also said she added a service charge? the chips i have to say the majority of them were thin hard ones and will be thrown away. disappointed guys, we order from you frequently! ☹️

Really nice chippy, value for money and friendly staff. It is often busy though so be prepared to wait outside for them to shout your name, although I have never waited too long.

Lovely freshly cooked fish. Full marks for natural coloured mushy peas - they taste so much better than the virulent green ones you get all too often. Thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful!

This take away is the best in the area. They do a lunchtime special which is terrific value for money. Very friendly and welcoming.

Absolute rubbish food!! The gentleman serving ought to tidy himself up, he looked filthy. His black top was disgusting. Longish hair all hung out.

This local chippy has been hit and miss for years hence why although very local we have avoided this place as food seems to be extremely greesy as if oil not hot enough during frying, revisited again recently, staff seem extremely friendly but at busy times not well organised, if fish needs to go in surly get everyone's orders if a queue is forming then take payment, this way people with small 'ready' orders can pop up grab what they need and go without waiting for every single order to be cooked then be served seems crazy for quick to-go items (battered sausages etc), management seems to be good, very friendly and most staff seem friendly too but sadly the prices have shot up much to our disappointment but quality was the same so sadly we won't be revisiting but wish them all the best

Well managed, providing good food in good time at a good price. Massively better service than the previous management. No more waiting for ages!

Wonderful fresh chips and batter to die for. What more could you possibly need. Spam and sausage taken to a whole new level with the crispy dark brown batter.

We passed by one day and was pleasantly surprised by the service, quality of food and the fact it was cooked freshly to order. Perfect in every way, crispy batter, fish was superb and the chips were just right. We enjoyed the rather large fish portions perhaps a little too much as we are now regulars :) Well worth the money, well worth the trip

Always call here if in Kirton, always good value, taste nice, never greasy either. Staff always pleasant too.

The spam fritter was like cardboard. Not very appetising and i didn't even give it to my dog. We haven't been back since.

Staff were very friendly and a good service. Loads of chips however my cod was about the same size as my wife's mini haddock and it was all very average.

I've used Kirton Lindsey Fish Bar many, many times and always found the staff friendly and the food excellent. There's an extensive menu to suit all tastes and pockets. There's usually a local paper to read, whilst you're waiting!

Fantastic chippy nothing like it for miles. Good size portions far better than anything Brigg offers. Don’t go anywhere else tbh

Bought take away for 8 people. Great Fish and Chips, nice kids deal with toy and stickers. Was cash only when we went but cash point is just across the square. Would recommend and will visit again when we are next in the area.

Been 3 times now and very good fish and chips. Curry sauce is something else very tasty and not your usual tasteless slop. Always been fresh cooked and piping hot and will definitely be returning.

its hard to find a hundred characters to say about fish and chips but having been here a couple of times I found the fish and chips delicious and priced in line with other chip shops. will return for sure.

Reasonable prices but a bit hit and miss on the food. Most of the time it is well prepared and fresh but on odd occasions the fish can be very greasy.

The Fish Bar in Kirton Lindsey is very tasty and freshly cooked, with it being the only chip shop in the Village it's worth a Visit.

I have to say having moved to the village only eight months ago I have frequented this fish and chip shop many times and left rave reviews for the quality and rated it highly however for a big family get together we decided to use this fish and chip shop as we hadn't stopped talking about it only to be bitterly disappointed and left the next day feeling decidedly unwell. It was apparently the start of a new supplier of fish. All I can say is it'll be a long time before I go back there and risk

I was very very very ill the last time I ate your fish and battered sausage, when I reported this my husband admitted hearing you say you better change the oil Friday. Not good, not good at all.

Can be really good food and can be really greasy ,overcooked food. Just depends who is frying. A walk past the door and see who is frying can save disappointment later on the table. Funnily enough, the female fryers are better. Well done ladies👍

Great all round. Chips are very tasty and you get what you ask for. It is clean and friendly - have been going since we moved to Kirton in January 2014 and had a satisfying meal every time.

I moved to Kirton Lindsey about 6 months ago, i was surprised to see the local fish and chip shop open 6 days a week, but i know why now as the food is excellent, always friendly efficient staff, I use the shop at least once a week, they also do a great kebab as well, but it is so big i have never managed to eat it all.

Average fish & Chips, i thought the fish was rather small and very tight with the chips & customer service was average ..... overall an average fish & Chip shop.

Great value for money chip shop, chips have got a lot better lately. The service is good and made to feel like a local every time.

My family and I are regular customers of this chip shop, the staff are very friendly and helpful, great food and reasonable prices, I would certainly recommend.

Adequate for a quick meal is the best I can say. Chips seem to quickly go cold and hard and are fairly tasteless when hot. Fish is OK but expensive. Very much a place of last resort for me to eat from here

We have been buying fish and chips from this take-away shop for 40+ years and every vendor has produced fantastic fish and chips, pies, scampi, burgers etc. The current owner has continued this culinary excellence with fresh foods cooked to perfection using traditional ingredients, including, I believe, proper dripping, which leaves the food bursting with flavour. In my opinion and experience, highly recommended!
