Sabroso Burrito and Nacho Bar in Scarborough

Ive Eaten here at least twice a week for a year and every time the food is perfect never got my order wrong and served with a smile.... ty for some delicious burritos 🌯 😋

I called in on the off chance just prior to xmas because the nearby place I intended going to appeared closed down. The mixed meat burrito I eventually ordered was very nice and it lasted for 2 meals cut in half. The big downside was due to the menu being a little different to what I'd expected so I asked the lady member of staff for advice regarding the choices to which the reply was "you will have to be quick because we are busy" Yes they appeared busy with other orders but the attitude has put me off visiting again in a hurry. Yes I was tired, didn't fancy cooking, having just come off 3 flights and a long train journey. I am a world traveler and never experienced customer service like this, especially in South east Asia and other parts of the world so why different in Scarborough ?

The burritos were pretty tasteless and not authentic in the slightest. The staff were not so happy to see us and the hygiene of the place was questionable.

Love staff ,love food , shouldn't have got the halepinos though lol But got a £5 rice box with Chilli con carne and Wow massive and lovely Only gripe wish there was a bit more sauce with chilli con carne but a minor thing They probably had it but just never asked for it I'd give it 10* if I could , can't recommend it enough I'd walked past loads of times and decided to go in glad I did Only think they don't take cards but do bank transfer/PayPal cash. SERIOUSLY GO AND TRY THEM

We always have a great, reasonably priced meal from Sabroso. Much healthier than other takeaways too!

The reviews don't lie. May have been the best burrito I ever had and definitively contending for the top spot. Brownie was delicious as well. Delivery was prompt and service very friendly!

I keep going back. Tasty simple food well done. Friendly people even when run off their feet with orders. I will continue to return again and again. Oh and the cheesecakes are superb.

I had a gigantic vegan burrito from here before Elbow. I selected the regular size so I'm glad I didn't go for large! Really tasty and hot. Decent spicy hot sauce. My partner chose the chicken burrito and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Very reasonably priced - meal deals available.

Amazing takeaway amazing qaulity. Well worth the money, I've never found better cakes in all of Scarborough! The snickers megacake is the tastiest cake I've had in my life. Never been dissappinted here and I order often.

Great food and a simple menu that makes anything possible (food wise!). We use this place more often than any other takeaway.

Ordered two portions of regular nachos, one with BBQ pulled pork and cheese and the second with marinated spiced chicken breast and cheese. Both came with very soggy nachos, the meats was very chewy and the cheese was almost more rubberised then my car tire.. I can only imagine these was microwaved. We also ordered 4 deserts in which only three arrived. We calculated the cost for everything and it turns out they hadn’t charged us for it so very poor communication. Won’t be ordering from this establishment again.

My Favourite Takeaway in Scarborough and have a good GF range for me

We have ordered a birthday cake and muffins on 3 occasions now and cannot fault them. Made on time, fresh, Moist and the butter cream is to die for!

First visit to here: Outstanding Burritos, (so tasty and very filling), with all the trimmings. Loaded Nachos - excellent. Delicious cheesecake - had to 'leave it for later'. Very friendly folks. Will definitely be returning soon.

I ordered nachos and tacos. The nachos came with no salsa even though I ordered it. They were clearly microwaved which just made them soggy. The crispy tacos weren't crunchy at all and were chewy. I'll never order from this place again.

Really nice takeaway, very quick service and good prices. Due to covid-19 we wanted to help out independent places to make sure they are still around In the future. Staff in the shop were all friendly, chatty and helpful. Food tastes nice and was a good portion size. They also stock gluten-free and vegan options too. Have a great choice of items on the menu including, homemade cakes, drinks, nachos, burritos and meals deals. Only down side is that they don't take card, so make sure you have cash with you. If you love Mexican food then this is the takeaway for you.

I've ordered a few times for delivery but tonight we popped in to get a takeaway. The service was friendly, warm and welcoming and the lady behind the till was beyond helpful and patient with us as we were unsure of what to order. We ended up ordering two burritos and the nachos and they were amazing as always. Super quick service too which is always fab. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too. The only problem I have is that I'm always fit to burst afterwards! Lovely little place. Definitely one to try if you enjoy burritos or tacos etc.

Good home cooked food at a really reasonable price. The dessert was to die for, amazing cheesecake. Friendly service and efficient delivery. Not only that but the Sabroso team is always helping out to feed the vulnerable when there is a local need. Keep up the good work.

My husband and I visited this establishment over the weekend.....Fellow day trippers avoid!. We both had a meal deal the main dish consisting of enchiladas, we were looking forward to eating our purchase arriving back at our hotel. My husband took a bite from his meal only to bite and almost swallow a hair! yes a hair! in his enchilada needless to say this was immediately thrown in the bin. Disgusting. As for mine totally flavourless and almost stone cold!. If our hotel had not been such a distance away we would have demanded our money returned. Clearly no passion regarding cleanliness or even pride for mexican cuisine.

We literally went in to order over the counter for dinner. Food was ready immediately and everyone was friendly. The burrito was delicious and we had brownies which were literally perfect. Will definitely cone again

I've only really discovered Sabroso since lockdown began and I can't believe I've left it for so long! Delicious and fresh food in huge generous portions and the cakes are lovely too. All the staff that I communicate with are lovely and polite too. My pay treat is always a rice box and a treat box. :)

I have been to Sabroso multiple times and the food is always as you ask! Always served hot, cakes are unreal. Recently had an order for my 21st Birthday with a large order, all food was as expected and delivered on time and all hot. Would recommend to anyone at all, staff always friendly and a fantastic local business

Ordered tonight for the family, eating as I type, absolutely lovely, fresh,quality ingredients & such a nice delivery driver who rang bell then moved away but took the time to wave through the window. I may be locked in but all is not lost,least I've found Sabroso. Kids didn't order me a cake but they look amazing! Would highly recommend. P.S. need to say sticker on the food made me smile & cry at the same time,so thoughtful.

Great place have it how you want it mild medium spicy burritos enchiladas pulled pork chicken beef also now chilli and bean chilli with rice or salad.Cakes and cheesecakes from individual cupcakes to large birthday cakes catering for all occasions gonna buy some Mother’s Day cupcakes for tomorrow enjoy peeps I’m sure you will ❤️❤️❤️

Sabroso is the best Mexican place in Scarborough

The food is pretty good. Could be a bit spicier and more adventurous though. Fresh chillies rather than jalapeños out of a can or a jar would be a good start. We wanted to eat inside last time we went but the place was just a cluttered mess. They had to move junk out of the way and boxes etc off the table, which didn’t seem particularly hygienic. All in all not too bad, but that previous experience really irked me. Maybe it would benefit from the owners going to other similar restaurants elsewhere in the country for some inspiration?

Staying in Scarborough for the week and found this place. Originally from California I like my Mexican food so thought I’d give it a try. Much like a mom and pop burrito shop in America. I’d say the best I’ve had in the uk. All they need is proper Mexican rice and black beans and it would be perfect. I had an enchilada, a burrito enchilada style really, it was fresh flavourful and just what I wanted. You can choose from a massive list of ingredients and have what you want in your order. Again like a proper burrito shop. Loved it thank you.

Gorgeous tasting food and their desserts are amazing

Used to order regularly from Sabroso and never had a problem, food was great. However recently, I feel like the love has been lost from it a little. Had a mini rice box but the toppings were just bland and mushy and the sour cream tasted almost a little fusty. There was a pool of water and oil at the bottom of the box which is a bit off putting also. In saying that, the prices are reasonable and delivery was quick. It’s a shame because Sabroso was a treat to Scarborough, nothing quite like it in fact.

Nest Mexican food anywhere around 10/10

I had a stone cold shredded chicken burrito. I actually got bored whilst eating it. Mexican is obviously meant to be really zesty, vibrant and fresh. This was plain boiled rice with what tasted like plain chicken. for the prices charged, you would have thought you'd get a bit of flavour. Ever heard of cumin? Chilli? Lime? Paprika? Garlic? Apparently not.

Called here today as we spotted while passing looking for food. Salad box with no salad, just lettuce? How very strange. Added chicken sweetcorn and sour cream. Still bland and swimming in juices. My partner ordered tacos and various toppings, tacos weren’t exactly crunchy, shredded Mexican beef had flavour but also copious amounts of oil, we also bought nachos with pulled pork and sour cream. This was probably the best part of the meal and even that was basic. Would I call again? Not even if the meal was on the house!!

Been here for takeaway a few times. Lovely every time, even though I have to drive 15 mins home. Other reviews just reflect other people's taste. Remember you choose your own ingredients! Try for yourself before you decide. The ladies are as lovely as their cheesecakes which are wonderful (and imaginative!)

The owners of Sabroso have done nothing short of miraculous, turning the small-business into something utterly utterly sensational; it may be small but it's big business in Scarborough. Food is fresh and always delicious.

This is our second visit to Sabroso after a long awaited time. We don’t live in Scarborough but we’re visiting family and couldn’t wait to return. I couldn’t wait!! This time was even more exciting as we took our baby chihuahua Taco!

1. My food was terrible it was microwaved which made my nachos stale and my cheese go to the bottom of the box 2.My nachos were store bought from a bag which was from probably Aldi. 3. Unhygienic how they grab the nachos and cheese bare handed. 5. The only thing good about it was the pork and that was mediocre. 6. And finally maybe make portion size smaller.

Such good food. Great price. Friendly staff. What more could you ask for! Had a starter, main and dessert. They were all amazing. Such big portions, but, it was so good, I was left, still wanting more.

Fantastic place to grab food on the go or sit in, personally use for food orders at work as they can also deliver. Staff are friendly, helpful and accomodating. Would certainly suggest giving it a go. Most recently had a XL burrito and was quite the task to finish!

Never ordered from them before. People always said it's amazing food, so tonight we gave it a go... Ordered a large burrito, large enchilada and a large nachos separate guacamole as only I like it, shared it between 3 and now in a total food coma, and I have to say the best tasting food Ever!!!!! It's fresh ...tastes fresh. And all ingredients just jel together beautifully. I can't big them up enough. This place is amazing and tasty and deserve getting noticed. They have created a gem of a place. We also ordered cake . Do not know why as our eyes are bigger than our bellies but yummy again just generally can't fault the place or people. Very accomodating xxx

Use sabrosa regularly amazing Mexican food amazing cakes

I’ve followed this place on social media for a while and it was the lure of a rocky road Christmas pudding that made us visit! We came here for food after going to the cinema and it was great. All homemade and made to order and great that there are different sizes available depending on how hungry you are. Service was excellent. Will definitely come back here when we are next in town.

Spot on again today as always. Usually get a delivery but while I was near I popped and ate in. Great fresh produce and a cracking price. Keep up the good work. Like my reviews people 👍

great food well worth a try, burritos tremendous

Eaten here a few times now, with friends and with my other half. Food is always fantastic and the customer service is spot on. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

This place is great for a local business. It’s perfect for lunch and has options to go large and XL for bigger meals. There’s plenty of choice of toppings and it’s all reasonably priced. The deserts are always delicious and they seem to come up with new ideas every week! The cakes that are made to order for customers are beautifully presented and taste just as good. They deliver and can provide for large orders (e.g work lunches or children’s parties.) Plus, they always arrive piping hot too!

The food here is lovely and we use it regularly but unfortunately they sometimes use a motorcyclist to deliver and what turns up can only be described as catastrophic mush! It's so disappointing. Next time I will ask who will be delivering to avoid disappointment.

Scarborough is awash with the regular takeaways offering pizzas, burgers and kebabs but this place bucks that trend with its take on mexican cuisine.

Amanda will explain the menu tasty fresh home cooked food large portions and inexpensive i had large nachos smothered in everything with chilli beef on the side accompanied by some mexican beer with fresh limes (bring your own beer) the place does sell soft drinks. £5: 50 bargain. its not fancy tables but its clean bright and comfortable. the main part of the business is the takeaway and it was non stop all night a good sign that the place has got it right

Really good freshly made food. Hard to find uo to date menu online but usual Mexican options both meat and veggie worth a try!

Called in here, my great- nieces choice, along with wife, son and nephew, for lunch yesterday. Only a couple of tables to eat- in, but much take- out activity noticed. Very friendly, helpful lady serving/ cooking. Our orders covered the spectrum of tacos, burritos, rice bowl etc on offer. All were freshly made and delivered in a reasonable time. Taste generally very nice, the only slight criticism being that afterwards, my wife and I commented that our tacos tasted a tad stale, but otherwise OK. The total bill for five, including a drink was a very reasonable £31. The premise on the menu, is a build your own, from a wealth of options. Nothing wrong with that, except sometimes some people ( no names, but looking in the mirror) panic when they have so many foodie options to decide upon. No matter, we would certainly recommend and visit again.

The place is very small and appeared very busy for take out. We ate in. Staff very friendly. Nice choice of food. I had a burrito and my husband chose nachos. Food was quick to be served and was delicious and such a great price. Afters was cheesecake and rocky road- if I could criticize the rocky road was huge!!

The food is very tasty, mild, medium or hot (or even extra hot as I like it). Always fresh and very tasty. The staff are also super friendly, nothing is too much trouble - even giving some free dog food!! Not one bad word or bad taste against this place and I’d challenge anyone who says otherwise! - Just for clarification, I don’t know the owners personally either!
