Casa Italia Restaurant in Sheffield

Before I started please read the other negative reviews to prove my point as the restaurant has accused me of lying. Visited last Saturday. We preordered as there was a large group of us. I never even got my food. They didn’t understand what I meant on my preorder so didn’t think to come and ask me to clarify what I meant but instead they just didn’t cook me anything. Then wanted to cook me something after I’d complained but I had been sat there for 2 hours whilst everyone else was eating. They wanted to cook me something at 9pm when I was leaving shortly after. Other people’s food was undercooked or not prepared well enough. The service was very very slow. Arrived at 7pm, didn’t get the starters till 8pm and people didn’t get their mains until 20:45. I have since emailed the restaurant twice to complain instead of arguing over a Google review but I have had no response. Unprofessional and do not take accountability and respond to complaints like a business should. I will not be coming back. **updated review The fact they have accused me of lying is absolutely diabolical. I never even wanted free food🤣 I have already stated that I won’t be coming back so why I would I write a review to try and get free food . I didn’t accept any food off them in end as I was so annoyed. The fact they would rather argue over Google instead of replying to my email is honestly such awful behaviour from a restaurant . I have written this review to make people aware. I myself never even complained about the prawns. I complained about never getting my preordered meal which I have a right to be annoyed about. Genuinely sat here gobsmaked that a restaurant has accused me of this just because I’ve left a negative review. They have also had similar negative reviews to prove it is not just me🤣

Staff are so friendly and welcoming we love Albert. Food 10/10. It’s our go to restaurant.

It was our first visit to Casa Italia and we will definitely be back. We went for a family meal for my wife’s birthday. Cannot fault the food, service and atmosphere would recommend.

Our absolute favourite Italian. The staff are excellent. Make you feel at home. Part of their family. The food is out of this world. Highly recommend this place. We come often, working our way through the menu. Not had a bad dish yet!

Food is soooo nice! Tried tagitelle pollo and cheesy garlic bread. Honestly iv come back next day was so nice and decent prices. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming

Just been for the first time .they were so friendly and welcoming advised us they could change something on the menu if we wanted and told us to take our time relax and have a good look .we had garlic bread with tomato, cheese and chilli it was delicious followed by caboranara for andrew and spaghetti napolitana which you can choose to have spicy if you want .they were both fabulous 👌 will definitely be going back .thankyou casa italia for a lovely meal out .

Excellent all round, warm and friendly atmosphere, with wonderful freshly cooked food. One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in years. Visited here with two of my friends and can only say I wish this restaurant was based nearer to me in Leicestershire.

Stopped on way to football match last wednesday,we were early and had undivided attention and friendly banter with the front of house,highly recommend

I cannot thank the team enough for making my birthday and engagement party so special. All staff from the kitchen to the front of house were amazing and went over and above to make our night special. They even did us an amazing cake, which was spectacular! Food and service were top draw as always! Grazie mille 🙌👌

We were a party of 13 and had a lovely evening. Really friendly staff but service was a tad slow. The young ladies were new . The food was amazing ,not a complaint from anyone. The chef worked really hard as we hadn't notified them our food choices. He came out to see us at the end and he was lovely. The whole place including the kitchen were spotless. Will definitely be going again. Ps a little background music would have been nice.

Came here for my birthday and it was a really lovely meal. Great service , staff friendly and helpful. The Desserts were to die for!!!! If you're eating here I have to recommend the steak, they cook it to perfection.

Fabulous evening & wonderful food. The young lady serving was busy but was so lovely & chatted away to us with a smile all evening. Already booked a larger group in for November, but will be returning as a three very soon.

Amazing atmosphere as always, had my baby boys 1st birthday get together here and loved it we've been a few times and never disappointed us. Foods so lovely, staff are amazing. Will always go back.

Been here a couple times so far (yes we will 1000% be returning!) My husband and I first came for part of date night about 3 months back. We were amazed at how beautiful the place is and at how lovely, friendly and welcoming all the staff are! We loved it that much that we sang the restaurants praises too our family and ended up having my Mums 60th birthday here last weekend! Cannot fault anything! We were amazed how accommodating they were for the birthday party. From letting myself & my husband pop in earlier (before opening) to put up some banners/balloons/table confetti and to drop the Birthday cake off. To having more and more drinks orders left right and centre! That atmosphere is fab, the prices are reasonable for both food and drink. Everyone said the food was absolutely delicious! I hope we weren't too much of a pain and rowdy for you guys! We honestly can't thank you enough for such fantastic hospitality and a wonderful afternoon. The family have already agreed we'll 1000% coming back for more! Best Italian we have found in Sheffield. Grazie ancora così tanto! X

Very disappointed! Came on Sunday for lunch and it was closed. Came this evening (Wednesday) at 6pm and it's closed again. Are you working at all? 🤔 PS please change your working hours on Google map.

We have just had a delicious meal and our kids are every last bit. The mussels were delicious as was the seafood risotto!

Took our daughter tonight for her birthday with our two grandchildren and it was a lovely evening. The service was perfect as was the food, clean plates all round. I would recommend the seafood linguine and the garlic mushroom starter. The waiter was fab, he really made the effort to make us feel welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble. This was our third visit and we will definitely be back. Bravo

Was recommended this restaurant by a friend and it did not disappoint. From the brilliant service, to the lovely atmosphere, to the amazing food - it was all top class. Compliments to the chef, one of the best I’ve tasted. Thank you so much to the friendly manager, who made us feel very comfortable and was so helpful. A great place for a couple meal, family meal and even child friendly. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and there's a real authentic feel. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The menu has plenty of options. The food was delicious, flavourful, and decently priced. Would highly recommend.

We often eat at casa Italia and we love it. Last night we went with family to celebrate a birthday. There was 12 of us. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were extremely attentive. Food was amazing as always. We’ll be back again soon.

I went in here today for my lunch which i got to takeaway. i never leave reviews on anything but i just wanted to say this place is amazing! The staff are extremely friendly made me feel so welcome and at home. The food was lovely, i got a pizza that i can't remember the name of but it had pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, and peppers, and i also got some fries it was great! i would definitely go in more often if i lived in sheffield, please give this place a try the food, staff, service and atmosphere is all 10/10 ☺️

Very very disappointed to come here and even try the food. I have never sat in a restaurant for 20 minutes and not had a drink ordered. My partner who I took was pregnant and to be sat there for 20 minutes without even having a drink ordered, is just outrageous! The guy apologised and said he had forgotten about us. Ordered our drinks and food. Drinks arrived 10 minutes later. Then the next problem came, we waited 50 minutes, and still no starters, people who arrived after us had been served their mains! Are you telling me he can not see us, walking past with our table empty! I then pointed to the table, he came over and apologised and said that they had misplaced our ticket order! Very terrible service. They gave us our drinks for free, which was non alcoholic by the way! As we was walking out, they brought us our starters, which we refused to eat as we had already had enough. 1hour 30 wasted of my evening and a malnourished pregnant wife to be. Sometimes apologises are not enough to feed my hungry stomach 😕. I feel sorry for the owner, because we was there to trial the food, as we was hoping to book the venue out for a private venue of around 35 people.

I was last night at casa italia with my family, the food was very good, a wonderful staff even though it was a very busy night, I can't wait to come back again

After reading reviews, I was very excited to try this place. After walking in, no one bothered to come and take our orders for 20 minutes. Drinks arrived after 10ish minutes. Food wise... been patient enough to wait for 1 hour since taking our orders so 1h 20 minutes since walking in. People around us who walked in good half an hour after us were receiving their orders. Starters arrived when we were leaving. Said we don't have to pay for our drinks. How generous of them. I'm not going to be back.

Just arrived home from a lovely family meal at Casa Italia. 1st visit but judging by tonight's experience we will be back. Good food, very good service and nice atmosphere. Even got the chef's out singing with the cake👍

The best meal I’ve had in a long time, the halibut was sensational. My friend had the linguine mare which she was highly impressed with. I couldn’t recommend this little piece of Italy more, all the food is fresh and delicious. I’d have to say it’s the best Italian in Sheffield. Staff were lovely and service was brilliant. We will definitely be back again soon!!

Went to the restaurant late afternoon / early evening as me and my partner were in the area. We recognised one of our favourite waitresses who just started working there. Food was great as well as the service. Would recommend going.

We went in a very busy Saturday night. There were loads of adults and kids having a good time together. Notwithstanding this the food was good (I had talibut) and the service excellent.

We’ve been a couple of times now so thought with family visiting it would be a great choice. It wasn’t. Of the two staff working, one was really trying but had just over a months experience (as we were told) the other was a rabbit in the headlights and was more hindrance than help. We ordered mains only, two fish dishes, a pasta dish and a rare steak. This took 40-45mins with, at time of ordering, 3 other tables of two (one of which was already there) to arrive from when the order was placed so should have been out way before that and we had to chase when it was coming, even then there was a delay between the first and second two plates arriving. The food was ok, not anything bad but certainly wasn’t worth the wait. Really need to up their game, an actual manager front of house (or somebody with restaurant experience) could make things a lot better - but until this happens I’d give it a miss. Used to be good, now not so much.

Visited for my 40th birthday. I thought I was visiting with just my husband but he had arranged for my mum and dad, sister, brother in law, nephew and niece and his brother and partner to be there for a surprise. The food was amazing when it arrived (there was only one front of house member of staff working due to illness and travel problems). This blip won't stop us visiting again.

Went yesterday, before we set off home. What a fantastic place to eat. The food was amazing and very reasonable. The lasagne was out of this world and the garlic bread was the best we have ever tasted. Thank you for a pleasant meal.

A little piece of Italy on Chesterfield Road. Pork belly starter and then pizza were really good. When the gas had gone in the fizzy drinks, they swapped them quickly and without issue. Nothing was too much trouble. I don't know why, but I couldn't help watching the HD live feed from Venice on the screens on the terrace. Really liked it here, definitely be back.

First time visit, all 4 of us had different starters and main courses and all had a Brilliant Experience and both members of staff were attentive without being overbearing, didn't feel rushed, and we'll definitely be back. First visit to Casa Italia — loved it. Not just a meal — an experience. A warm welcome, excellent food (linguine mare in a perfectly-balanced sauce for our main) and cheerful service from owner Fidel. We’ll be back!

Unfortunately when we went, there was a party of 24 ( more than the other dinners pout together). They were noisy and there was a lot of moving around, and going in and out. We had trouble hearing each other and chatting, hence our one star rating for atmosphere. Assume restaurant knew about this when we booked and if we'd been warned we would have chosen another evening . We will try again but will ask re large parties .

Went to this restaurant yesterday absolutely fabulous. The food is fresh and always cooked to a very high standard and beautifully presented. Last night was very busy and you would think this may have had an impact on the standard of food. However it was excellent as per usual excellent service from waitress and owner. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for family,work dos. It is one of the best Italian restaurants in Sheffield. We are lucky to have it.

Great evening after a spur of the moment decision to visit. The staff found us a table in the conservatory and made sure the heaters where on so we were warm. Great food and great value all round.

We visited Casa Italia last Friday and were very impressed. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was lovely. The place has a good atmosphere and is reasonably priced. We will definitely try to visit again when we're in Sheffield.

Nothing bad to say about this place. Delicious food, the best service, a very cozy place and fair price. I had a carbonara pasta and the chocolate fudge cake for dessert. Too bad I didn't take pictures, because they were as beautiful as they were delicious. Will definitely come back.
