The food was fantastic especially the soups we had for the starter. The chef was lovely and came out and spoke to us to make sure we were enjoying our food, she even put little carrot hearts on the food for Valentines. The man at the bar was nice but didn’t tell us we had to order at the bar which caused some confusion, I think it should just be full table service in the restaurant. The restaurant was a bit cold too as only the fire in the pub was on. But overall a great village pub, great value, lovely vibes and delicious food.

Popped in a couple of times for a pint during a stay in Heptonstall, and got some food to takeaway, to get some of the nicest Thai food I’ve had in a little village in the Peak District was a real treat. Really nice pub as well, but the food was great!

A great 'local pub' located in a truly atmospheric hamlet. Staff & customers treat visitors with equally friendly service & chats. Excellent authentic Thai food, sensibly priced & nicely presented. 'Thirsty Thursdays' is a real bonus too, with some draught beers at just £3/pint (£3.50 if paying by card).

We have just stayed at the Cross Inn 1/11/24 Room 2. When we arrived approximately 7:00pm there was a 50th birthday party in full swing which we had not been informed about. It was extremely loud and busy as expected for a birthday. We had food which was lovely, however the wine we had was awfull and we left it. We ordered breakfast for 9am requesting one of our party of 4 egg to be flipped when it arrived our request wasn’t full filled which wasn’t a major concern however when all our breakfasts arrived they were all cold. 3 of the group left half of their and I left all of mine as was not making myself ill when the gentleman collected our plates could see my plate untouched and the others half eaten didn’t ask us if everything was ok. I didn’t feel happy asking for mine to be warmed. I also felt the cleanliness of the the Cross in was extremely poor. We’re not fussy people would definitely not return to this accommodation and would not recommend it.

We stayed for one night bed and breakfast, the room was clean, tidy and was well equipped. The staff (Linda) was very pleasant, hilariously funny and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a very tasty cooked breakfast. Would strongly recommend and hopefully will be returning one day soon.

My review is simply about the food. When the Thai lady is cooking, the food is delicious! However, the opening times are a joke! I have never known such inconsistency. Twice I have collected people to go round and eat but even though it says it is open there is nobody about and no food. You can't run a business like that! The people I collected were not local and I wasted time and petrol collecting them. Sort your opening hours out!

Had a walk in the surrounding countryside and back to the lovely village of Heponstall. Stopped in the pub for a pint of Timothy Taylors, unfortunately the barrel had just run out. But there were plenty of alternative real ales on tap. Had a thai green curry was not disappointed it was excellent. Good value to.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Heptonstall, the Cross Inn Pub offers a delightful culinary journey into the heart of Thailand. As a Japanese traveler, I was drawn to this pub , curious to sample it’s Thai dishes. The moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in a cozy ambiance, with a warm welcome that transcended language barriers. Opting for classic Thai dishes. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors and expertly crafted to perfection. From fragrant Pad Thai to spicy Green Curry, every bite was a revelation, transporting me to the bustling streets of Bangkok. The freshness of the ingredients and the skillful balance of spices spoke volumes about the culinary skills of the chefs. Each dish was a symphony of taste and texture. In conclusion, my dining experience at the Cross Inn Pub was nothing short of exceptional. For anyone seeking a taste of Thailand in the heart of the English countryside, this hidden gem Is a must

Came here for food the day after pace egg so was happy that they hadn't run out of anything! We were a large party and they were able to accommodate the table for us. Food was amazing! One of our party said it was the best pub food that she'd ever had, and she's tried a lot of different pubs food. There was a mix up with the dishes that we'd ordered (I'd taken the wrong dish - oops!!) so the chef came down to check that everyone was happy, offered to recook or change the dish, but the party member was happy with just adding some chilli flakes so the chef brought those to us. It was my second visit, and I'll definitely be back!

Beautiful location, lovely room with gorgeous bathroom, generous hospitality tray and comfortable bed. It was spotlessly clean and the decor made it feel really individual. The food was great, well-cooked and tasty. The friendly and helpful staff couldn't have been better - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at The Cross Inn. From the moment I entered the building and asked to check in, I was greeted by a very friendly guy working at the bar. He promptly gave me my key and assisted me with my bags up to my room, providing a thorough explanation of everything along the way. Despite the rural location, the Wi-Fi was impressively fast with a great connection, this was great as at work and everywhere else but The Cross Inn I couldn’t find a good connection. The room itself was spotless along with the bathroom that smelt very fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely set of towels, soap, and other products neatly arranged on my bed. The sheets were lovely and clean with the material being very nice, the bed itself and the sheets were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring I slept straight through like a baby throughout my stay. Additionally, there were delightful little biscuits, snacks and bottles of water available. I must mention Linda, whose name I hope I'm spelling correctly because she truly stood out as one of the nicest people I've encountered when staying somewhere in a long time. Her positive energy, warm demeanor, and overall hospitality enhanced my experience even further. The same can be said for the guy who I initially met upon arrival and the other lady working at the bar; although I didn't catch her name, her friendly and kind demeanor, along with her distinctive and awesome purple hair, left a lasting impression. I was in the area for work, and Linda graciously accommodated my early morning schedule by offering to prepare a full English breakfast before the official breakfast hours. She did not have to do this, but went out of her way to ensure I was on time and had a lovely breakfast. An offer I really appreciated, especially considering how delicious the food turned out to be. While I regret not having the opportunity to try the gorgeous Thai food that I could smell from the kitchen, I can say with certainty that if I ever find myself back in Hebden Bridge/Heptonstall, I will undoubtedly return to The Cross Inn and try everything on the menu. The heating in the room worked really well and quickly warmed up the space. Additionally I should mention that guests are provided with a key to their room and a key to the front door of the pub, which closes at 10 pm. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say for this place. Having such a lovely place to stay, coupled with the exceptional service from the staff, just made my work experience even more so enjoyable. I am truly grateful for everything the team at The Cross Inn did to ensure that I had a fantastic stay. Thank you so much I really appreciate everything that you’ve done for me un highly recommend to whom ever may be reading this to pay a visit! Jack :)
