We had a great stay at the Cross Inn Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast included was very good with a nice variety. The customer service was excellent—staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The price was reasonable for the quality offered. Overall, a solid choice and good value for money.

Had a few pints in this pub while staying up the road in our motorhome. It was very nice and very welcoming. Didn't eat in but it looked nice.

Hands down this is the best Thai food in Calderdale. I doubt many come to Heptonstall for the dining but it’s well worth the trip, and eating authentic, subtly spiced dishes in a rambling old pub (with decent beer to boot) is something everyone should be doing.

Some of the loveliest people I've met in a long long time, the welcome at the Cross Inn was absolutely brilliant. Lynsey and Linda were superb hosts. We stayed in room 5, which was a twin and a nice big room, possibly a little warm for me. My friends stayed in rooms 1, 2, 3 & 4 and said they were really nice rooms. Breakfasts were excellent, and we ate one night in the restaurant too... We were fortunate enough to be in the bar when they did their weekly pub quiz from the local village magazine, to eat some of them locally made spirit infused chocolate. And then Lynsey told us there was a sell out memorial gig at the Golden Lion in Todmorden for a singer who unfortunately died in 2024. We went, it was outstanding, great people, great music, great night... Thoroughly recommend the Cross Inn at Heptonstall - and it's about two minutes walk to Sylvia Plath's grave as well, if that's your thing...

Visited for a drink after climbing the hill to Heptonstall. Well worth a visit, with a choice of four cask ales from regional breweries, including Vocation, Cloudwater, and Goose Eye.

We came to the Cross Inn for lunch, having previously enjoyed a nice pint here and seeing other diners' food. We liked the idea of Thai food rather than the standard pub grub. The pub advertises that food is served from 3pm, but unfortunately upon ordering drinks, we were told the chef hadn't arrived yet. That's fine, we can wait a bit we thought. We enquired around 20 minutes later to find it would be even longer a wait. At this news we finished our drinks and left. The beer is great but unfortunately their attitude and customer service is a bit too laid back. Disappointing.

The food was fantastic especially the soups we had for the starter. The chef was lovely and came out and spoke to us to make sure we were enjoying our food, she even put little carrot hearts on the food for Valentines. The man at the bar was nice but didn’t tell us we had to order at the bar which caused some confusion, I think it should just be full table service in the restaurant. The restaurant was a bit cold too as only the fire in the pub was on. But overall a great village pub, great value, lovely vibes and delicious food.

A great 'local pub' located in a truly atmospheric hamlet. Staff & customers treat visitors with equally friendly service & chats. Excellent authentic Thai food, sensibly priced & nicely presented. 'Thirsty Thursdays' is a real bonus too, with some draught beers at just £3/pint (£3.50 if paying by card).

We have just stayed at the Cross Inn 1/11/24 Room 2. When we arrived approximately 7:00pm there was a 50th birthday party in full swing which we had not been informed about. It was extremely loud and busy as expected for a birthday. We had food which was lovely, however the wine we had was awfull and we left it. We ordered breakfast for 9am requesting one of our party of 4 egg to be flipped when it arrived our request wasn’t full filled which wasn’t a major concern however when all our breakfasts arrived they were all cold. 3 of the group left half of their and I left all of mine as was not making myself ill when the gentleman collected our plates could see my plate untouched and the others half eaten didn’t ask us if everything was ok. I didn’t feel happy asking for mine to be warmed. I also felt the cleanliness of the the Cross in was extremely poor. We’re not fussy people would definitely not return to this accommodation and would not recommend it.

My review is simply about the food. When the Thai lady is cooking, the food is delicious! However, the opening times are a joke! I have never known such inconsistency. Twice I have collected people to go round and eat but even though it says it is open there is nobody about and no food. You can't run a business like that! The people I collected were not local and I wasted time and petrol collecting them. Sort your opening hours out!

Had a walk in the surrounding countryside and back to the lovely village of Heponstall. Stopped in the pub for a pint of Timothy Taylors, unfortunately the barrel had just run out. But there were plenty of alternative real ales on tap. Had a thai green curry was not disappointed it was excellent. Good value to.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Heptonstall, the Cross Inn Pub offers a delightful culinary journey into the heart of Thailand. As a Japanese traveler, I was drawn to this pub , curious to sample it’s Thai dishes. The moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in a cozy ambiance, with a warm welcome that transcended language barriers. Opting for classic Thai dishes. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors and expertly crafted to perfection. From fragrant Pad Thai to spicy Green Curry, every bite was a revelation, transporting me to the bustling streets of Bangkok. The freshness of the ingredients and the skillful balance of spices spoke volumes about the culinary skills of the chefs. Each dish was a symphony of taste and texture. In conclusion, my dining experience at the Cross Inn Pub was nothing short of exceptional. For anyone seeking a taste of Thailand in the heart of the English countryside, this hidden gem Is a must

Came here for food the day after pace egg so was happy that they hadn't run out of anything! We were a large party and they were able to accommodate the table for us. Food was amazing! One of our party said it was the best pub food that she'd ever had, and she's tried a lot of different pubs food. There was a mix up with the dishes that we'd ordered (I'd taken the wrong dish - oops!!) so the chef came down to check that everyone was happy, offered to recook or change the dish, but the party member was happy with just adding some chilli flakes so the chef brought those to us. It was my second visit, and I'll definitely be back!

Beautiful location, lovely room with gorgeous bathroom, generous hospitality tray and comfortable bed. It was spotlessly clean and the decor made it feel really individual. The food was great, well-cooked and tasty. The friendly and helpful staff couldn't have been better - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at The Cross Inn. From the moment I entered the building and asked to check in, I was greeted by a very friendly guy working at the bar. He promptly gave me my key and assisted me with my bags up to my room, providing a thorough explanation of everything along the way. Despite the rural location, the Wi-Fi was impressively fast with a great connection, this was great as at work and everywhere else but The Cross Inn I couldn’t find a good connection. The room itself was spotless along with the bathroom that smelt very fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely set of towels, soap, and other products neatly arranged on my bed. The sheets were lovely and clean with the material being very nice, the bed itself and the sheets were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring I slept straight through like a baby throughout my stay. Additionally, there were delightful little biscuits, snacks and bottles of water available. I must mention Linda, whose name I hope I'm spelling correctly because she truly stood out as one of the nicest people I've encountered when staying somewhere in a long time. Her positive energy, warm demeanor, and overall hospitality enhanced my experience even further. The same can be said for the guy who I initially met upon arrival and the other lady working at the bar; although I didn't catch her name, her friendly and kind demeanor, along with her distinctive and awesome purple hair, left a lasting impression. I was in the area for work, and Linda graciously accommodated my early morning schedule by offering to prepare a full English breakfast before the official breakfast hours. She did not have to do this, but went out of her way to ensure I was on time and had a lovely breakfast. An offer I really appreciated, especially considering how delicious the food turned out to be. While I regret not having the opportunity to try the gorgeous Thai food that I could smell from the kitchen, I can say with certainty that if I ever find myself back in Hebden Bridge/Heptonstall, I will undoubtedly return to The Cross Inn and try everything on the menu. The heating in the room worked really well and quickly warmed up the space. Additionally I should mention that guests are provided with a key to their room and a key to the front door of the pub, which closes at 10 pm. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say for this place. Having such a lovely place to stay, coupled with the exceptional service from the staff, just made my work experience even more so enjoyable. I am truly grateful for everything the team at The Cross Inn did to ensure that I had a fantastic stay. Thank you so much I really appreciate everything that you’ve done for me un highly recommend to whom ever may be reading this to pay a visit! Jack :)

Used to go in when was the Globe, 1st time since realising it was the red lion. Food was lovely Couple of tweaks and would be 5 outa 5 for everything. Attention to detail, mindful that the hot plate for carvery doesn't keep the meat hot hot, Had to ask for dessert order to be taken. After being asked if we wanted dessert The waiting team were friendly polite. We will be back again.

Cooper Kitchen & Bar is a Hidden Gem. Nestled in the heart of Elland, Cooper Kitchen & Bar offers a great dining experience that rivals those found in larger cities. The highlight is their tapas deal which is six dishes for £40, a must try for food enthusiasts. The stand out dishes are Gambas, succulent prawns cooked well, bursting with flavor. The crisp Pork Belly is a blend of sweetness and savoriness, complemented by it's Asian inspired flavours. The ever changing specials menu ensures there's always something new and exciting to try. (Or just ask the chefs to feed you, I guarantee there will be no disappointment). The venue boasts a clean and beautifully presented bar area downstairs but can be confusing at first as the restaurant is on the second floor. The front of house staff are friendly and welcoming with a good standard of service. However, to maintain the high standards set by the kitchen, it's essential to support the front of house team, as in my opinion needs more staff working on shift. While the current staff are fantastic and attentive, additional support would ensure that service remains seamless and menus stay pristine, enhancing the overall dining experience. While some may overlook Elland as a dining destination, Cooper Kitchen & Bar proves that great food doesn't require a central city location or price. Its charm and quality offerings make it a hidden gem worth discovering. Whether you're a local or planning a visit, Cooper Kitchen & Bar in Elland is a culinary destination that deserves attention. With its exceptional tapas deals ,tasting evenings and standout dishes like Gambas, pork Belly, bravas and large plates, it's a place where flavor meets value. Again the front of house needs looking into, as even on quiet nights they are too over stretched to deliver a high quality of service that coopers require. I will be back to sample more delicious small plates.

3 of us and a doggy went for lunch here today for the first time and so glad we did. Loved everything from the decor and atmosphere to the music playing, the friendly service and the outstanding food both taste and value for money. Prawn cocktail, spam fritters and mixed goujons were the starters we enjoyed followed by bangers mash and veg, fish chips and mushy peas and chicken stroganoff with half chips half rice all cooked to perfection proper home cooked delicious comforting grub we were stuffed but managed to squeeze in an Eton mess and sticky toffee pudding and custard, 3 lattes and 3 pints less than £90 great family treat day wil be back next week and recommend everyone gets there sens down here as well. Thank you to all at the White Horse x
