Fantastic home cooked food . My first visit, I feel I have found a gem . A good menu with some Exciting dishes . All meals arrived at our table nice and hot .

Excellent, well prepared food, attentive but not intrusive service, warm, welcoming atmosphere, will definitely visit again.

Just had a really nice family Sunday lunch. Roast, Home made Steak and Ale pie, liver onions. All the veg was cooked perfectly. Yorkshires spot on. Gravy was lush. Followed by. Jam roly poly and custard. Treacle sponge and cream. 😋 Could not fault it. Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Will deffo be back soon. Thank you

Had the pleasure to take my lovely wife here for tea and wow some of the best food iv ever had went for the 2 courses for 15 and I tell you now you will not regret a single moment here the staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was spot on even had the pudding and if ya don't mind the sticky toffee pudding is something different unreal. Thanks again for a lovely evening hope to see you more often 😊

Visited the White Horse having driven past and seen it was popular - always a good sign~! Pleasantly surprised to see a "2 dine with wine" offer which was remarkable value for money not often seen nowadays. Very friendly staff and owner even though it was busy and will definitely be making this a regular haunt.

Eaten here 3 times over recent months and each time the food and service has been superb and great value for money. Highly recommended.

Went for lunch with family. The staff were excellent and attentive. The food was excellent. I had the steak and kidney pudding followed by jam rolls Holly. Both were to die for and the price was extremely good value. It was my first visit but certainly won't be my last.

I went to the White Horse in Lightcliffe this lunchtime with my son for a meal, we arrived at 12-20pm , the place was all locked up except the kitchen door. I spoke to a guy who said the pub was closed. Nothing was on there website and no notice on the doors. We were looking forward to going as my son hadn't been before. Very disappointed and not good for business.

How this place manages to do food of this quality so consistently at a super modest price is beyond us. Superb family run, gastro pub. If you love great service, super cheap prices and amazing food and drinks look no further

Cracking food at a great price,if I could fault it in any way it would be that they don't have a burger on the menu and my hubby loves a good burger!looking forward to the reopening after the refurbishment, hoping all goes well...update on review now having a burger on the menu it's a firm favourite for us!

This was our first visit for many years. We found the hosts to be very friendly and accommodating, the choice and quality of the food was excellent. We were extremely pleased with the whole evening and we will certainly be back for seconds.

Nice pub, standard pub menu. Local, dog friendly and most important, people friendly. Worth the Thursday night 'sod it, let's go out' debate, but you'll get what you expect; standard pub fare nothing remotely fancy, but with chips. Some nice beers too

3 course Sunday lunch £18.50 Good selection of choices for all 3 courses. Can choose 1, 2 or 3 courses and there are supplements on a couple of items £1.50 for cheese and biscuits. Service quick and friendly.

Great selection of homecooked foods at very reasonable prices.

We have just left the White Horse after one of the most disappointing and unpleasureable experiences at a pub restaurant. The service was shambolic, waiting 50 mins for starters, chilli sauce replaced with Ketchup ( not told just arrived ) and then had the most aggressive and unreasonable service from a senior member of staff. Despite the fact we are local , we will never visit this place again under this new management.

Drinks prices seem to have gone up considerably recently. Used to be reasonable, now overpriced.

Good service staff excellent. Meal 2 courses for £14.50 was good value. No problem to me infact it's better for me as I have swallowing issue the rice was well over cooked that suited me but not everyone. Overall very good value for money .

Awful food curdled garlic mushrooms, excessively oily garlic bread, had the giant beef Yorkshire pudding beef was days old re warmed tough, chewy and grainy, was much better before new ownership! sadly won’t be visiting this local again. slow service a good hour wait and wasn’t even asked if the food was ok and I would of said presumably by the lady who has now taken over my two year old even said hello to her she heard him and ignored him.

We went here for first time as discovered that it is recently under new ownership by people that ran a pub / restaurant that we loved a few years ago.....we were not disappointed at all. Very friendly welcome - great service and proper tasty home cooked food. Our starters of garlic mushrooms and spam fritters were delicious. Mains of lamb shank from Specials board and rib eye steak were equally as good...if not more so. Good portion size. We would have love a dessert but couldn't manage one...even between us. Great value....happy to recommend

£5.75 for a kids meal which consisted of Chicago town pizza from Iceland and mix platter £15 which also from Iceland steak full of fat and gristle only nice thing was homemade chips and service was good only good thing I can say about it

A bit of a hidden gem having driven past on numerous occasions I decided to give it a go. It didn't disappoint. A good sized menu available and the food (I did the steak pie for a main) was served hot and at a generous portion. The puds were also deliciously sweet and moreish! A great selection of beers on tap and a wide range of wines and spirits are also unavailable. Ample free off street parking makes this place one to return to very soon.

Just had maybe the best steak pie iv ever had and I get around. Swapped chips for mash no problem and even peas for veg. Amazing polite landlady and staff. I was going to have pudding but could only just manage to finish my drink. No chance of fitting more food. Will be back to try more items, one day.

Came here on a Sunday evening! Wasn't particularly busy so can't complain. Staff were pleasent enough and the food wasn't bad. Something slightly lacking about service and food.

Meat not good. The veg and starter were lovely but the meat was cheap quality. Fatty and tough. Staff were lovely.

First visit. Had grill for 2 with wine @ £19.95 for the two of us. Was delicious. Great value for money. Went at the weekend, was very busy with locals so bar staff a bit 'fraught' shall we say. Waitresses were lovely tho. Will definitely go again.

Excellent traditional pub on the edge of some stunning walking country and close to Lightcliffe Golf Course. A fine selection of Timothy Taylors ales and quality food to help you unwind after your walk.

Just had an unplanned visit here after breaking down on the main road outside. Pleasantly surprised by this lovely little pub. Great selection of food and drinks (alcoholic and non). Lovely friendly bar staff. Prices seem reasonable. Decent (although a little on the small side) toilets with deodorant/hairspray etc in-very nice touch, especially on such a warm day! Quick food service, greatly appreciated!! Thank you :)
