Ordered online, can’t pay on card on collection. Eaten the food, tasted lovely but I’ve now got quite severe food poisoning. I can only guess this is from the chicken in the curry!
Afternoon tea on Mother’s Day was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Nothing was too much trouble and staff went above and beyond. Gorgeous gift bracelets for all the mums included…. A real treat . All four generations of our family loved it… thank you x
Stopped by Open House for the second time whilst visiting from Suffolk , and was very much looking forward to eating here again . Went for the Himalayan Lamb Curry this time while my other had chicken tikka masala and Debbi had sirloin steak cooked rare and as she said “ perfectly cooked and delicious “. Easily the sign of a good chef to nail a good steak . My curry was outstanding , fresh flavours, well balanced and clearly cooked by a man who knows his spices and how they compliment each other . Mother was very happy with her tikka masala , not my personal taste normally but it tasted good and not overly sweet and creamy as it so often does . Three meals with accompaniments and a bottle of wine for just over £55 so excellent value and Prakesha ( hope that’s the correct spelling ) is a polite and professional host . Will definitely be back next time we are visiting Brownhills .
Order ahead as it takes them at least 30 - 40 minutes as they have a thriving take away business - the food is zero frills and 100% on the taste and far too cheap for what you get - if it's food alone that you are after, then go there - if it is atmosphere, service and no compromise quality then my favourite has to be Rajdoot in George St, Birmingham - the food there will knock your socks off and impeccable decor and atmosphere - but it comes at a price - but if quality equals price then not an issue - if you want a Patek Philippe then you have to pay the price
Called here this morning (29 April 2019) looks to have closed down, no furniture but no note on the door ? If it has what a shame it was an excellent venue.
What a great find this place is. We have been here for a 3 days visit. Miguel and his wife are amazing hosts. The pub serves awesome food and drinks and the breakfast is delicious too. Our room was very clean and perfect for our trip. Miguel’s Tapas is a must.
Myself and 4 others were looking forward to having a lovely sunday breakfast at cafe Morso though it turned out to be a disappointing visit which ruined our morning. The place was dirty and with cups lying around from the night before. There was only one person working who was serving and preparing the food which is unacceptable for a place like this in the city centre. I’ve never come across just 1 staff member running a big joint like this before. He wasn’t coping either, we waited ages to be served then another hour for our food to be prepped. When it arrived, we were all shocked as it was served on thin white bread. When we questioned the chap he said they had ran out of muffins. The decent thing to do would have been to communicate this with us before wasting our time and wasting that food as none of us ate it and we left the place in disgust. Still in disbelief that the managers have allowed this to happen. We felt sorry for the staff member who was also sorry as he explained that it was not his fault and that this kept happening where he was being left alone to run this place hence why he had handed in his notice and was leaving in a week or so. Whether the managers are cost-cutting and trying to reduce staff or they just don’t care, this should be communicated to potential customers as it is not fair that they are allowing customers into this place to then be disappointed.
This was our first visit to Leek & we couldn't have found a better place to have lunch. Oatcakes filled with a very tasty cheddar accompanied by flavoursome tea & coffee meant that we couldn't manage a cake as well so we bought them to take home. I can now thoroughly recommend both the bread & butter pudding & the coffee & walnut sponge - absolutely delicious. The customer service was outstanding & our first visit won't be our last.
PS: Love the wallpaper!
We have had several take away meals from this restaurant over the last few months and they have been very good, so we decided to book a sit down meal.
The restaurant is situated above the Coach and Horses pub, so 2 flights of stairs. I didnt see a lift or stair assist, so anyone who finds stairs difficult may have problems with access.
The restaurant is licenced, so no bringing your own drinks
We were warmly welcomed and shown our table. Within a very short time the drinks were served and menus handed out.
The food was excellent, not huge portions but very tasty and well presented.
I would advice to book as tables are limited and I noticed people were waiting for a table when we left.
We would recommend this restaurant
A lovely little pub. Unfortunately the service is extremely slow. We waited at the bar (no bar tender at first) although, very nice, the lady behind the bar was very slow. We waited 50 minutes for our food. There was plenty of it but the lasagne was very dry.
