Cafe Morso in Coventry

Came here today with my son, daughter and her boyfriend. Upon entering a girl shouted some other girl to serve we asked for the menus to have a look. We went outside and had a look at what was on offer, the menus were really sticky and dirty so were the tables. The young girl came to take our order only for them to say they didn’t do that menu anymore. I was a little confused to why we were given it. They only serve the breakfast menu until 2pm. Ordered breakfast it was quite greasy and the mushrooms tasted like a burnt pan. Sausages were nice. Coffee very poor and watered down coke.

Very average food. Staff is nice if you speak to them but not very responsive. Nicely decorated though.

The atmosphere is lovely the coffee/drinks are good /the food is awful what myself and daughter had was greasy then when going to pay couldn't get that right it's a shame it's a nice place everytime we go past there is always lots of food left in plates and it's not cheap it's a shame as the food let's it down

First time I have been here and I must say I was absolutely 😲 the service was great food was lovely...literally 10 out of 10..would highly recommend. Then to find out it was dog friendly made my day I will definitely be coming back . Ty derron for you service. Top fella.

Got served by derron who could not have been more polite and helpful and even explained that my pooch is welcome..will deffo come here again and bring her. The food (pancakes) was very fresh and tasted home made not the typical frozen..over all amazing breakfast with amazing staff, will deffo be back.

The guy at the bar was friendly and drinks were ok. The music was way too loud- politely asked the staff if they could turn it down a little but were told it was Saturday eve and the DJ was in charge. We had to sit outside as it was getting even more loud. We were the only table there when I asked the manager. Well I guess the DJ enjoyed it!

Came in while waiting for a bus, a lovely well polite young gentleman greeted me and as not sure what to have, mentioned what was on menu, I chose a chocolate orange cake, not it’s so mmmmm delicious, well worth the money, most like would win the BAKE OFF Definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely decor, friendly service. We had the original Morso burger and barbecue chicken wings, very tasty. House fries were a delight too. Will be coming back for iced coffees next week. ☕️

Food is worth the wait. Nice array of sandwiches or salads for lunch specials. The sweet potato fries are made very well. Nice and crispy but not too skinny either. I’d say the only thing is the chicken wings could be cooked a little more to be crispier, but still a good chunk of meat on them.

We were at a private party last night and just wanted to compliment how much of a great time we all had .. massive thanks to all the bar team! Great service with a smile at all times! .. thanks to the door men too!! Professional polite and pleasant even when were trying to get an extra song lol... would definitely book again

Needed a meal on a Friday evening. We'd been here before for a party so decided to give it a try again. The server was excellent - very friendly and attentive. Food and coffee were good. Sadly for them there was hardly anyone there, not sure if this is normal for 7pm on a friday near xmas but what a shame if it is. Slight gripe was that there was no alcohol free beer but the coffee was excellent. Food was reasonably priced. Happy to recommend to others and hope to visit again ourselves

Really friendly vibe, Chloe and Keiran made the visit great, food was so nice I recommend the bacon and cheese burger. Would definitely come again! Had a try of their 2-4-1 cocktails and was very much pleased!

Leng food, solid salad 10/10 would recommend

Came in this morning for breakfast. 4 adults, one child and one baby. The floor was sticky, the tables were sticky and even the menus were sticky. We sat down and no one came over for a good 15 minutes. I got up and asked for menus and was told he’ll be with us shortly. There was only one other large table in the place. We ordered coffees and then breakfast. The we waited, waited a bit more and some more. We waited for over an hour for a breakfast - only for it to come out wrong. I ordered poached eggs and smashed avocado on muffins. It arrived on the most cheapest white bread with the avocado being pasted on with a fork. Everyone’s breakfast looked unappealing and unacceptable. We got up and left. Never again. The place has just collapsed recently - it’s a dive and I’ll definitely will not be visiting again.

Myself and 4 others were looking forward to having a lovely sunday breakfast at cafe Morso though it turned out to be a disappointing visit which ruined our morning. The place was dirty and with cups lying around from the night before. There was only one person working who was serving and preparing the food which is unacceptable for a place like this in the city centre. I’ve never come across just 1 staff member running a big joint like this before. He wasn’t coping either, we waited ages to be served then another hour for our food to be prepped. When it arrived, we were all shocked as it was served on thin white bread. When we questioned the chap he said they had ran out of muffins. The decent thing to do would have been to communicate this with us before wasting our time and wasting that food as none of us ate it and we left the place in disgust. Still in disbelief that the managers have allowed this to happen. We felt sorry for the staff mrmber who was also sorry as he explained that it was not his fault and that this kept happening where he was being left alone to run this place hence why he had handed in his notice and was leaving in a week or so. Whether the managers are cost-cutting and trying to reduce staff or they just don’t care, this should be communicated to potential customers as it is not fair that they are allowing customers into this failing business to then be disappointed.

Had a lovely evening at Cafe Morso. The customer service is exceptional, the servers give off a warm and welcoming vibe. I want to give a special thanks to Finley, he helped me out and was so nice and understanding. Hats off to him!

Was going to go 5 guys but fancied something new and different and ended up here! Surprisingly enjoyed the burger with fries. Will come again. Keep up the great work.

Amazing cafe with the best latte in Coventry

Came in for a little meal with the partner before continuing our travels back home. It seemed like such a lovely little cafe/bistro kind of place. Me and my partner were the only 2 people in the place so we had the drinks very fast and the coffee there was lovely but then the drama happened. Being a chef and front of house supervisor myself you can see the cracks straight away. We only ordered 2 toasties and a portion of fries between us and both asked for no coleslaw. I could see the chef stood behind the bar for about 15 minutes just talking to a woman with a dog. The food eventually got to us after half an hour however, we sent them back as it was just bread slightly toasted, with ham and cheese just shoved on (which is not a toastie) we sent them back and said its not a toastie as it obviously hasn't been put on a pannini grill to toast it like a toastie should be done. We cancelled the ordere as we had to leave to get to our next place in time. When we said we're not paying for the food as it wasn't what we asked for we were told we could only be given 20% off due to wastage but that is disgusting. When your being expected to wait that long for food and then it coming out cold and wrong YOU DO NOT PAY. They eventually took our food off for us after explaining to the manager the wait and the lack of quality with the food. The waitress was very well spoken and a very lovely woman and did do everything she could to help. We could easily see that all the kitchen equipment was on as there were people leaving who had just eaten fries and burgers. If your company is hiring chefs that will just stand there talking over cooking for customers to the business standard you need to re-think your hiring process or re-think your training policy. Will not EVER be returning as this was just a disgusting experience. Thank you

The star of Cafe Morso is the staff, I've visited 3 time's and always feel very welcome, the staff are friendly and always smile. The food is always excellent in taste and presentation with generous portions. It's a very clean and beautifully presented restaurant/bar. I couldn't give a more positive review.

We came for lunch a few weeks ago as my daughter loved the look of the place - very girly! The atmosphere was great and food tasted good as well.

The two lovely girls working were very welcoming and helpful with dietary advice and requests. It was lovely to see a dog in there, that's always a plus. The food was excellent quality, fresh and well worth the money, the cakes had vegan and gluten free option's, I honestly couldn't fault anything at all and I shall definitely be going back.

Went here on Valentine’s Day. Live saxophone which was a good idea but the venue was too small so the live music drowned out all conversation. I had a coffee and a cake. First cake I was given was a raspberry almond sponge… unfortunately it was moldy ontop I didn’t make a fuss as these things happen. They where nice and apologised and I had a slice of the Victoria sponge instead. Payment time comes we pay leave and then when splitting the bill we realise they charged me for 2 slices of cake so I paid for a moldy cake I didn’t eat? Bit cheeky

Lovely experience, had lunch here with my parents, it was a quiet and peaceful setting, the food was amazing, service wasn’t the best but it did the job! My dad said it was the best fry up he had had in a long while! A great compliment

I held my sons 1st birthday party here and it was perfect! The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Such a lovely venue I highly recommend it.

Stopped for pre-theatre drinks and returned later for a great meal. Polite, friendly staff and the restaurant was immaculately clean. Thoroughly recommend this place - so pleased we were just walking by and found this.

Very expensive, no children's menu, so they expect you to pay full price.

My latte was lovely ,the staff very nice but it was too cold in there and awful loud music to have a nice chat and snack.

Popped in for breakfast yesterday morning - WOW just WOW !!!!! Quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and very tasty. Staff friendly and a great atmosphere - will be returning soon (even planning a evening visit)

The staff were very friendly, we brought their chicken wings and their fries. Different selection of flavour available. Their service is the best always coming and checking up if everything is good. A good place to chill with friends or have a drink and chat. Really recommend.

Me and my friends went here last weekend and it exceeded my expectations. The staff were so friendly and remembered what we were drinking. The food, drinks and Dj were amazing. 100% we will be back. Thanks to all the staff for making my friends birthday one to remember. I would highly recommend this place. I'm coming to try the breakfast soon.

Visited today with two young children. The staff were all lovely and accomodating (even though it’s not a kids place). We all had something different and each meal was delicious. The decor and vibe is very chilled. Will definitely visit again.

Popped in for lunch, quite quiet, coffee excellent, had a bacon and egg roll - cooked to perfection.

Called in to great place Sunday before to meet a friend. Really enjoyed the cake and. hot chocolate. It's a great place

Added this place on Google maps as it was missing. Now, I have to go and experience it :). Will be back with a review 😁. I ask the manager to own the Google Maps location as I don't want to manage it. I am finally here - The atmosphere is ok but there is something missing - Makes you have no privacy when you sit at a table. Only 4 stars as the prices are decent but the drinks are quiet small compared to Costa for example.

It's nice to see a smart café/bar on Corporation Street in a great location for the theatre and restaurants this side of the city. We had a nice coffee and cake but the alcoholic options looked good. At the time of writing they had Meantime, Asahi, Peroni and a cider on draft. They also stock local firm Dillon's Brewery cans.
