Open House Tandoori Restaurant in Walsall

Visited and food was lovely did a just eat order and after 1 and half hours and advised food was delivered to an address up my road we cancelled eventually not happy customer

5 of us dined here on Friday 01/07/2022 and honestly, everything was delicious! As a guide we ordered the large mix grill, 3 types of paneer dishes, vegetable rice, naans and rotis and drinks. Every item had its own unique taste. This is rear on mix grills, which contained 4 types of chicken, and you could distinctly taste one was different to the other. staff was fab, service was really good too. Our food was not rushed at all and everything tasted fresh. this is one of those little special places in Brownhills.

First time visit January 39th ~,young girl running front of restaurant on her own (staff hasn’t turned up), what a fantastic job she did despite some extremely rude customer demanding free drinks and discounts 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Food was absolutely fabulous, tasted great… served promptly and definitely be back… Well done to the girl taking orders, serving drinks and food ~ great job.. Definitely be back 👍

Had lots of takeaways from here. Today's wasn't as good. Portion sizes are smaller for sundries and there is less meat in the main courses.

Great food as always take outs only due to covid regs, very busy was queuing in restaurant, check your bill before you leave I was over charged and no 10% off for collection. Own fault not checking. Food was as always lovely

Visited open house again last night, and was not disappointed the food as always was excellent, the staff very friendly. I can not recommend this place highly enough definitely deserves a five star rating

Small premises..friendly staff,but what surprised us was the extensive menu,traditional Indian choices with a Nepalese option which is very different to the norm.Recommended

Where do I begin......A wonderful experience. A family run business who work from the heart. I tried the Nepalese dishes and I was blown away. A true taste sensation! Shall definitely return, soon! Love this place the food is delicious the staff are efficient and nothing is too much trouble .I opted for a takeaway this time and it was piping hot and tasty .

Food was very good, staff attentive just wish notice of not taking cards was more prominent. Hope its a temporary thing otherwise if the cashpoint down the road was down it would have a bit embarrassing.

Visited for the 3rd time and without a doubt the best Nepalese food I have tasted since serving with the ghurkas. Sunnita is the most knowledgeable and friendly front of house I have ever met .complements to the chef and kitchen staff ,see you all very soon.

First time here and i must say we really enjoyed our meal, the food was tasty fresh and hot, 2mains 1side dish, 2 puddings, bottle of red (only one on menu) £38, lovely friendly staff, but restaurant in need of a desperate make over!! Would definatly return hopefully make over won't be to long with good reviews and more customers!!

Visited as a party of 15 on Saturday night and my first visit. There was only two waitresses on the floor as the restaurant is quite small,however they delivered excellent service throughout the evening. Nice menu with a variety of standard curries,Nepalese and vegetarian dishes.Despite being such a big party,each course was delivered hot, plates were hot and the food was delicious. Real quality produce ( tender chicken) and beautifully spiced. Couldnt fault the food and service,its great value for money.

Me and my wife was told the food was good so we popped in for curry. The service was brilliant and the staff couldn't be more friendly. The food was brilliant and really well priced. I highly recommend to try there.

First time Saturday night. Fantastic tasting food. 2 of us had Gurka Mismas Masala, it was so tasty and generous portions. Other had the Kadhai and Hasko Maasu and again very good. Staff friendly. Only bad part was its cash only. This won't stop us from visiting again, only wish it was nearer to us.

I have been a big fan of this place since it opened. A very small place in the middle of Brownhills. The food is excellent and if you have the pleasure of dining inside the service is brilliant. Really friendly people.

Well I visited with my husband last Saturday for his birthday. What a surprise. At my age (53). It’s rare that I find flavours I’ve not tasted before. This was fabulous. We had the Gurkha mixed grill and a Nepalese curry with a Nan. Everything was great really tasty, different with succulent meat. The salmon on the mixed grill was perfection. Oh and a bottle of sauvignon blanc for £8.99.

Shared s wonderful meal with my children at the Open House. Deliciously flavoured dishes with delightfully fresh naan bread. Friendly staff.

Excellent food pleasant staff. We had the sizzling mixed grill main as a starter to share which was delicious. We then all had the signature dish Gurka Mismas Kadhai which was one of the best curry dishes we have had. All washed down with Nepalese beer!

We have had a number of meals here and also takeaway service all dishes have been fantastic the quality of the food is excellent thank you we will be back and recommend to all.

Visited here after a recommendation, arrived early as we didn’t make a reservation but very welcomed and shown to a table. Fantastic service, food was outstanding and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend, looking forward to our next visit.

Went with friends after they'd had a lovely meal & we weren't disappointed food was amazing freshly prepared to our liking & well presented... lady taking our order was attentive & knowledgeable about all ingredients in our food & was able to offer good advice re: how spicy etc good could be made to suit our tastes.

You just have to try this restaurant the owners are so friendly in this small restaurant Nepalese food at its best and reasonably priced. Good to see it so busy just what the high street needed , Highly recommended.

Excellent food and great service, have eaten in once and had a take away a few times. Best curry by far and I live a few miles away but it's worth the drive. Have had the mixed grill which was great and the sherpa lamb is recommended.

Wanted to try something a little different, gave Open HouseTandoori a try. The Restaurant had a mix of traditional Indian and Nepalese dishes. Really enjoyed our meal; food really good, good service, friendly staff. Licensed with very reasonable prices. All good, will definitely be back!!

First time visit didn’t go that well for me personally,so I was a bit reluctant on the second visit,but I can say I was very happy with the second time there the hole meal was spot on and very tasty,with excellent staff that listened to what we wanted,look forward to the next time there....

We have sat in and eaten at the restaurant 3 times before and the food there is really good we have the Gurka mixed grill it is unbelievable and we've had different curries to all lovely and fresh and tasty. Last night we tried a take away from there it was just as nice and as fresh as when we've eaten in.Highly recommend this place

Had a good experience at this restaurant,the food is very good so highly recommended. As this restaurant has been trading less than a year, it has a number of areas for improvement, these are observations rather than criticisms.1.two door entrance needs changing, awkward and prone to being left open by customers who don't think, or only think only about themselves. This also gets a lot of foot fall from take away delivery drivers, could they use another door or could another door be put in else were? 2.Staffing levels, the waitress worked extremely hard but struggled to cope, as a result waiting time is longer than you would expect, one couple left with out ordering because of this.3. Toilet needs two methods of drying hands, no paper towels available at visit or hot air dryer.

This is a lovely place to come for indian food. We had mixed grill which served two and it was amazing! It even came with a fresh naan. Will definatly be back!

A friend had had a takeaway, and said how good it was, so we popped in. Service and food nothing less tantastic: the Nepalese menu is a nice change. Some great bottle beer as well as Cobra on draught. Prices very good too. Can't recommend it enough.

Visited with family including 2 children. Food was amazing very tasty, something a little different to your standard indian, spice can be adjusted if you require something a little hotter. Service was very good and they also have a children's menu. Will definitely return.

Look no further if you are seeking the ultimate in quality tandoori food. I have passed this restaurant many times and wondered what it would be like, without knowing that it was a Nepalese restaurant....a sub-category high on my target list because so many of the common places offer the same things, with Halal meat and high prices. I wanted to avoid Halal and to get something totally different, so my first experience was very much a case of trial and error. I was not disappointed:

This is the third time I have been to this restaurant and the quality is outstanding ...my sons mixed grill was amazing and he loved it ...he ordered extra dips and they weren't added to the bill and my balti was really good ....when I have had a takeaway they add popadoms and dips for free ....I cannot recommend it highly enough it's really cheap as well .

Really delicious food and great service! Tasted way healthier than a typical Indian restaurant - and the momo was one of the best I've had. I would definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed the food here and judging by all the reviews so does everyone else. It is extremely cheap, quite possibly the cheapest meal you will find anywhere. It is also unlicensed so that's another plus.

By far the best Indian/Nepalese cuisine I have tried. We visit on a regular basis and it never disappoints. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. It's hard to choose a favourite dish as it is all 5 star - the lamb is delicious!

I love this place been going since its opened the food is absolutely brilliant and it's so cheap the service Is lovely I would highly recommend this place for kids adults teenagers can't fault it complements to the chef

Expect incredible, don't expect luxury. Open House is reminiscent of the early Balti houses in Birmingham but with a rather incredible menu.

Seriously amazing taste in every dish. The lamb dishes (unusually) are succulent, juicy and taste delicious.

My husband and I visited on a Saturday evening at 6.30. It was very quiet nobody else in the restaurant. They seemed to be doing a lot of deliveries though. I had vegetable pakora for starters and hubby had onion Bhaji. I followed by one of their signature dishes Sherpa Chicken which consisted of 17 different spices. This was very tasty and obviously cooked from scratch. Hubby had the Gurkha mixed grill. Lamb chops, chicken tikka, king prawn, tandoori chicken, seekh kebab and salmon tikka. There was plenty of it. I had Peshwari nan which was delicious the best I have ever had. Home made and you can tell the difference. Garlic fried rice and a garlic nan for hubby. I would thoroughly recommend and very competitively priced...

I love Indian food and have tried various places around the Walsall area and many have been lovely but this place blew me away and of the few times I have been out for Indian food over the last month I have only been to this place.

Food was cooked to perfection. Meat was perfectly spiced and really tender. Good service and a really good choice of food. Generous portions too!

I really love the spices and flavours in Nepalese food and I thank Open House Tandoori Restaurant for introducing me to it. I haven't eaten in the restaurant yet, I've only had takeaway food but it always arrives on time and is delivered with a smile and the food has always been hot and flavourful. It is mine and my husband's favourite takeaway and we always look forward to meals from there.

This is a great place with warm, friendly service and the food is absolutely delicious. Could not fault any of our evening at all and can't wait to go back. Prax is a great host and looked after us the whole time we were there.

I have never been for a curry and left totally disappointed. But, similarly, I have never found anywhere which I have returned to more than once or twice. Often, visiting an Indian restaurant, particularly one which offers a takeaway service, can feel like groundhog day, with the same starters, mains and sides on offer, often in pretty much the same order on the same menus. So it is nice to find somewhere which is different. At Open House, this difference comes in the form of a Nepalese twist on some of the staple dishes.

This restaurant has all the usual favourite dishes on the menu which my family tried on our first meal with them, I however tried one of their speciality Nepalese meals. The flavour was excellent and different to any other I've tried, we have even been back and that time even my wife tried a speciality dish and was impressed, I even tried another dish and was again bowled over by the tast. I am happy to recommend this restaurant for its food and service.
